To think I have an affinity with five of the eight magical attributes.

I am stunned.

No, seriously I am shocked.

Since in the game Alastor only ever used fire and wind magic.

So the fact that I have access to more magical affinities than the original means either one of two things. My soul in this body has allowed me to access them since mana is tied to the soul from what the game described, or original Alastor was just so arrogant and lazy he never bothered training any other of his magical attributes besides fire and wind.

No matter which option it is I am just happy I have so much potential.

Ever since the results appeared on the aptitude tester I have put on a grin on my face and haven't dropped it.

"Woah, Alastor." Ferric said.

"Five affinities. I would expect nothing less from you Al." Charlotte spoke.

"My baby." Mom spoke. But instead of a small she wore a complicated expression on her face.

Noticing this I looked at her. "Mom is everything alright?"

"Mhm, oh yes. Everything is fine." She said. "I am just surprised by the results is all. Looks like my little bunny has a bright future." She said.

Which caused me to get a hint of pink on my cheeks.

Ignoring the giggling of Ferric and Charlotte I returned to my seat so we could continue the days lessons.

All the while thinking I am a high-spec.

Who would've guessed.

(3rd Person: POV)

Sitting in his office Alfric finished up reviewing another pile of documents and moved them to the completed pile he had on the left side of his desk.

Which is towering quite high.

Even so, documents stacked on the right side of his desk in the un-completed pile is still quite high.

Looking at this Alfric simply released a short sigh from his mouth.

While he enjoys being Duke Lindwurm he hates with a passion all the paperwork involved with his position.

Deciding to take a short break he leaned back in his chair and stretched his arms into the air.

Just as he did so his wife Rayna entered his office and took a seat in one of the two chairs situated in front of his desk.

She was on a short-list of people in the world who could do this.

Anyone else would suffer Alfrics' wrath.

Putting a smile on his face Alfric finished stretching. "Hello dear. So, how did the children do in today's first lesson?" He asked.

Since he was curious about Alastors' potential.

Both because he is set to become the next Duke Lindwurm in the future, and also because he is a father wanting to know about his son and how his day went.

He was also a bit curious about the potential of both Ferric and Charlotte.

Since Alfric could see Alastor was slowly but surely becoming incredibly close friends with the both of them.

Which he thought is a good thing.

Since Alastor will need close and reliable people he can rely on by his side. Alfric himself didn't get to where he is today without such people by his own side and he wants the same for his son.

"It went well." Rayna answered her husband. "All three of them were attentive and asked questions." She explained.

"That's good." Alfric mused. "So then, why do you look worried?" He asked his wife.

Since he had known Rayna for a long time he could tell when something was bothering her.

And since he loved her he wanted to help her in any way he could in dealing with the issue.

"It's about Alastor." Rayna said.

"What's wrong?" Alfric asked.

"During the aptitude test for magical affinities today it showed he has five out of the eight." Rayna explained.

As she did so Alfric took in a deep breathe and then exhaled.

Now he understood why his wife was a bit distressed.

It was due to Alastors' innate potential.

Most humans with the aptitude to use magic only wield up to three magical affinities at the most.

Those with the capability to wield four or more of the magical affinities amongst the human race are exceedingly rare. Actually it only applies to about 5% of the population.

Rayna's elder twin sister is a prime example.

She is one of the rare humans alive with an aptitude geared towards all the magical affinities.

Due to this from a young age many people, especially the nobles within the Eldrian Kingdom sought to try and influence her and bring her to their side.

However she ignored them all and went her own way.

Even so, that's not to say she didn't have difficulties in doing so.

Alfric and Rayna know this well since they supported her sister and will always do so.

Now there son is going to be in a similar predicament.

As the child of the one of the Four Great Duke Houses of the Eldrian Kingdom they both know there is no way they will be able to keep his potential hidden forever.

And when Alastors' potential becomes common knowledge there will be many who will seek to curry favor with him and use him for their own ends.

Despite the fact the Lindwurm family is one of the most powerful families within the kingdom.

But when it comes to gaining power for themselves many people are not smart at all.

Just thinking about all the worms and idiots who would appear in the future around his son Alfric felt a headache coming on.

Rayna herself was also worried.

Seeing this Alfric reached out and took her hands in his own, giving her a reassuring smile afterwards.

"Dont' worry my dear. No matter what I won't let anything happen to our son. The same for you." Alfric said.

"Oh honey!" Rayna said.

Putting a smile on her face like a schoolgirl experiencing love for the first time, a lot of Rayna's worries melted away.

Once they did she gave her a husband a quick kiss on the lips.

The two of them then sat down and started having a serious discussion about how to protect their son, and allow him to lead the live he wanted in the future.

Since as his parents, they saw it as their unquestionable duty to do so.
