Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Off into the Woods, we go! 

“Now let’s start our journey!” (Ana) 

After stating such, Emily and I grab each other’s hand and head to the town’s gates that leads into the capital where the academy is located. While passing through the town, Emily and I were receiving stay wells and congratulations from our fellow citizens. 

“Congrats, on your wedding, Anastasia and Emily. Be safe on your way to the academy.” (Grocery Shopkeeper Maxwell) 

“We will be sure to, thank you, Maxwell.” (Emily) 

“Ehehe, you stay safe as well, please continue to look after my mother, Max.” (Ana) 

After I state as such with a wink and teasing smile, Max’s face turns slightly red, before he goes back to his customers. As we slowly but surely reach the town’s gates. Emily asks... 

“You shouldn’t tease him too much. Would you mind if we stop somewhere after leaving the town’s gates, my Love?” (Emily) 

“Not at all, I was thinking the same, Darling.” (Ana) 

“We really are two minds. I know I’m the one who asked but we shouldn’t take too long we still have to stop and pick up your second bride-to-be, my Love.” 

“Are you sure about allowing me to marry Charlotte, and potentially others in the future? I know the spirit stated that it is all decided by fate, but you are my first love I want you to be happy.” (Ana) 

“I know that you will put my feelings over yours, and that does give me a sense of happiness knowing how much you love me, however I feel the same as you. I know that you have developed feelings for Charlotte, and I like her personally as well. My request is that as the First Wife you will allow me to make the final decision over who is allowed to join in as your wives, my Love.” (Emily) 

“I agree with that, I personally trust your instincts over mine any day, Darling.” (Ana) 

As we were having our conversation, we had already passed through the towns gates and reached our stop. The place where Emily and I made our promise to one another about marrying as soon as we both reached adulthood. The place we reached is called the lake of spirits, and it is where I learned my fate with Emily and my mission to meet other girls who I can form a deep connection and unbreakable bond with so that we can protect this world from the demons that wish to take over. It all happened... 

3 Years and a day ago 

Hello, everyone my name is Anastasia, I am 12 years old and my best friend Emily and I are currently doing our magic training, we are at the Lake of spirits outside of the town’s gates. It has been passed down for years that once a child of 12 years awakens to their mana pool, they should start magic training at a lake or forest of spirits so they can easily replenish their mana pools and continue casting spells until they increased inner mana pool where it can’t deplete easily. Mana depletion can lead to death. Typically, beast-men like Emily and I wouldn't normally be able to use magic but Emily is somehow able to, as for me I remember the information the Goddess told me before I was born, and Emily knows about as such as well. After we finished our training that was when it happened... 

“Hah...that was good training today, Ana.” (Emily) 

“Likewise, Emily.” (Ana) 

“I’m am ready to take a bath, are you ready to head ho...” (Emily) 

Before Emily could finish a silver wolf appeared before us, and ran into to attack me. That was when Emily... 

“Watch out, Ana! Aaaahhhgg!” (Emily) 

“Emily! Emily!” (Ana) 

Emily had pushed me out of the way and got bitten by the wolf herself, after screaming for Emily, I calmed myself chanted a wind magic spell... 

“Oh, spirit of wind, bless me with a blade that flies along with the wind and knows no slowing, Aerial Wind Blade!” (Ana) 

A flying blade of wind formed and attacked the wolf in the eye causing the beast to yelp and flee. After making sure the wolf was gone, I ran to Emily. Once, I reached her, I tried to call out to her so she knew I was there... 

“Emily, I’m here. Hang on I will start healing magic!” (Ana) 

“Ana, Ana, where are you? What is this cold darkness? I don’t want to be alone.” (Emily) 

“Why won’t the magic heal her?!” (Ana) 

After trying to use healing magic a few times, I start to pray to the Goddess of Spirits. 

“Goddess of Spirits, please help me save my best friend, my protector, my...my...love. I will do anything that you ask of me, if you help me save her.” (Ana) 

“The Goddess will hold you to that, you know. Are you sure you want to ask as such.” (?????) 

“Of course, I would do anything if it meant saving Emily. Who are you?” (Ana)

“My name is Ariana; I am a guardian spirit sent by the Goddess to watch over you. Since you have already agreed, let’s heal your future bride before I explain anything else. I will now bless with the knowledge and ability to use origin spirit magic it is a far stronger form of magic that does not use mana in your body but the mana from nature and the air around you. Say the chant while focusing on your bride and your feelings for her.” (Ariana) 

I do as Ariana states, and start chanting... 

“Goddess of Spirits, from the upper sanctum, I beseech to you please heal the one who I love and save them from the grasp of death that holds onto them, Spiritual Heal!” (Ana)  

“An... Ana...” (Emily) 

“It worked! Ariana, thank you. Emily, how do you feel?” (Ana) 

“ungg...waghh...I couldn’t find you or hear you, I don’t ever want to be away from you again. Please, please don’t ever leave me, Ana.” (Emily) 

“wa...waghh...I promise I won’t ever leave you; I know we are still young now but I want to make a promise for the future. Okay?” (Emily) 

“O..ok what is it?” (Emily) 

“Emily, the day we are both officially adults, I want to us to marry. I love you, Emly. I don’t ever want to be away from you either.” (Ana) 

“Yes! Yes, it’s a promise! I love you too, Ana.” (Emily) 

“Uhmm, sorry to spoil the mood girls, and I am happy for you both but I don’t have much time left, and I need to explain a few things. Can I?” (Ariana) 

“Of course, I’m sorry Ariana. Emily this is my guardian spirit Ariana, she helped me save you.” (Ana) 

“Okay, thank you, Ariana.” (Emily) 

“No thanks necessary, it is all fate, this was meant to happen from the beginning, just as it is fate for Ana to agree to help the Goddess in order to save you. Ana and Emily, you two have always been fated to be together, and I am sorry to tell you both this but Emily won’t be your only bride. Ana once you and Emily are both officially adults you will need to go to the Adventure Academy in the capital to train and be ready to start traveling the world and meeting other girls who you can form an unbreakable bond and connection with. Eventually on your travels, you will all need to face the demons that are trying to take over this world. Emily, since you will be the first wife, I will give you the power to read and understand people’s hidden motives and desires. It is your job to tell who is fated to be one of Ana’s wives and who are just trying to use her.” (Ariana) 

“Very well. I’m not entirely happy about sharing Ana’s love, but I understand. I will do benefactor asks. I know it is bothering you as well Ana, I promise I am fine, to be honest I see how capable you are and I can tell you will do big things, it would be hard for me keep you to myself especially in a world where polygamy is natural.” (Emily) 

“Fine, if you say so, Emily. I will do as I am asked.” (Ana) 

“Good, now it is time for me to go, I have one last piece of information for you, in two years there will be an Elf girl who will come into your town in need of help. Her name is Charlotte, please do everything you can to help her. Goodbye for now, girls.” (Ariana) 

“Farewell, thank you again, Ariana.” (Emily) 

“Bye-bye, I will do as you ask, Ariana.” (Ana) 

“Well let’s head home...” (Emily) 

Back to the Present 

That is how we learned our fate, before we leave the lake, I turn to Emily... 

“Emily. Darling, no matter how many brides I am fated to have, you will always be my first wife, and my first love. Thank you for saving me from that wolf that day.” (Ana) 

“You will always be my love, no matter how many joins, I promise I will love you the most. Thank you for saving me that day as well, my Love.” (Emily) 

After Emily stated as such, I wiped a tear from her eyes, and gave her a tight hug and kiss before I grabbed her hand and stated... 

“Off into the woods, we go...” (Ana)
