Luminescent

Chaos. This is a type of energy that drifts through the world. Amalgamations of chaotic energy cause the formation of dangerous manifestations known as Shades. Intangible, imperceptible to the naked eye, these Shades cause buildings to collapse without warning, or cars to inexplicably tip over their wheels. Their energy even encroaches on people’s minds and hearts, influencing them in dangerous ways, or draining them into comas that can last for weeks or longer.

But these foul energies are kept in check. Special individuals whose souls burn with the desire to take action against chaos. Their souls radiate a different energy: luminescence.

A story with this kind of premise always centers around a protagonist—one who undergoes a journey, inspires the people around them, and overcomes their obstacles with grandeur and flare. The protagonist is the star. The story favors them.

And then there are Pike and Mindie, who may or may not be that star.
