“I am sorry about this.” Haruhi apologized. “If only I have enough strength…” Her fist was clenched into a ball.
It wasn’t her fault. By nature, someone gets stronger at a fast speed compared to others. Haruhi’s growth was considered fast. She even mentioned that she would be able to create a territory in the near future.
That was when we fought Diva. Considering the increasing Mana in the atmosphere, it wouldn’t be strange if Haruhi could make a territory right now.
Earth was still unstable, and the Mana in this place wasn’t as thick as Deepland. Titan mentioned that it only had around 1/3 of Deepland’s Mana. It would keep increasing steadily unless something big like last Saturday happened.
“Don’t worry, Haruhi. You’re not weak at all. It’s just that I am special.” I said, patting her shoulder. “So don’t be discouraged. You’re fine the way you are.”
“Arisugawa… Thanks” Haruhi looked at me with gleaming eyes and smiled a little. She looked comforted by my words. Good.
“But if you are willing to sleep with me, then tell me anytime. I am ready whenever and wherever.” I raised my thumb at her, and she immediately snapped.
“I was wrong to thank you even for a second!” She immediately rose from the couch and ran to her room, slamming the door behind her.
“That was a cute reaction,” I muttered as I looked at her room, holding my cheek. “But well… Amamiya Vega needed my help for this case, huh? It’s become bigger a lot sooner than I originally thought.”
***
The whole school was in an uproar the next day when they saw me walking to the school with Magiya Blaze and Aru in tow. Seeing their surprised and horrified expressions made me laugh loudly in my mind.
Hahaha! You peasants must’ve never expected me to walk together with Magiya Blaze!
It was a nice feeling. Even Mr. Kawahara looked at me with jealousy when he saw me. The school was fun that day, and time quickly passed until it was lunch break.
Blaze refused to leave me under the pretext of observing me, so the cafeteria was not where I wanted to go. It would surely cause mayhem that would make me unable to savor my meal, so I went to the roof, breaking the lock with a simple Magic.
“Are you sure this is okay?” Blaze asked worriedly, but she still followed me to the edge of the rooftop with Aru behind her, each holding a bento box that I had made this morning.
Yes, I cooked for them!
It was easy to cook a bento with a Magic Item called Magic Stove. Not an original name, I knew. It only took a few minutes before the meal was ready.
I also fixed the detector in my room, which worked like a charm now.
“It should be okay.” Aru answered Blaze. She was a bit shy around her because she was seen doing the sexual stuff with me yesterday, but she had recovered enough to talk to Blaze again. “Asa did it every now and then.”
“Fufufu.” I puffed my chest proudly as I sat down, leaning against the fence. “We can also fly, so there is no danger of falling from the roof! It’s safe!”
“Sigh, I don’t know about it. I will blame Arisugawa if something happens.”
Again, she called me Arisugawa. I didn’t really like that name, and I stopped smiling and looked at Blaze.
“Please call me Asa, Blaze. I mean it.”
“No, I me–“

“Please,” I repeated in a lower tone to let her know that I was serious. Aru looked at me worriedly, and I smiled again to show her that I was okay. She knew my condition as I had told her about it, and she sympathized with me. That made my days better, and I was grateful to her.
“Just call her Asa, Blaze. She won’t stop nagging you if you don’t do that.” Aru came to my help and mentioned it casually. A horrified expression appeared on Blaze’s face, imagining that I nagged her every now and then to call me by my name.
“A-Alright. Asa, is it?”
“Fufufu, you called me by name.” I giggled happily. Somehow hearing her calling my name hit something within me, making me happy.
“… Do you want me to call you Arisugawa again?”
“No no no, please, by all means, don’t call me by that name. Rather, let’s talk about Commander Amamiya’s request while eating lunch, shall we?”
I shook my hands and head continuously, trying to deny her with all my might. Blaze smirked playfully. It seemed like I had created a weakness for myself. What a blunder.
While it was unavoidable, I made Blaze gain blackmail material. Well, that was just one of my weaknesses that she discovered; it would be fine. I just needed blackmail material to counter that. Hahahaha.
“Somehow… The air has become colder, no?”
“I agree.” Aru nodded, agreeing to Blaze’s words.
“It’s just your imagination,” I said while pushing all my imagination to the back of my mind. “So, Blaze. What’s the situation with those balloons?” I asked.
Aru looked at me, then at Blaze. I told her about the situation this morning, and she searched the forum for any information. And she found something. Someone had actually spotted one of those strange balloons with a smiling clown face in Japan. More specifically, in Kyoto.
There had not been any discovery of those balloons in the Kanto region, so I guess their target wasn’t here. Did the perpetrator realize my existence and purposely avoid Tokyo? That could also be the case. That was why they targeted the Kansai region instead
“If I am to be honest, it’s bad.” Blaze looked down at her half-opened bento box. “The RINE group chat of Magical Girls tasked to secure those balloons are filled with reports, coming from both Japan and overseas. My phone keeps ringing in my pocket, so I put it in silent mode.”
“That bad?”
I didn’t expect it. The thing that I took as an easy problem was spread all around the globe. Maybe I should make a move right away.
“Alright then.” I opened my bento box and clasped my hands. “I will somehow find the perpetrator after school. Do you want to tag along, Blaze?”
“Huh?”
“But for now, let’s eat!”
“Let’s eat!” Aru repeated my words, and both of us ate the bento in high spirits.
Taking care of those balloons would come after a good meal. Now that it had spread more than I originally thought, I should stop it before I regretted it. I surely didn’t want to feel hopeless again when I couldn’t save Solene.
Never again.
