Chapter 11: Chapter 11 – The Curtains Open

Aria’s POV

After the one who called herself Zmeya left, I can’t do anything but stare in the direction where she fly away.

She was strange, the way she talked, the way she acted, until the way she introduced herself. Zmeya, the independent Magical Girl.

I pulled my smartphone out of my pocket and dialed a certain number that I never save on my phone. A few rang after I dialed the number, the call was connected with the other side.

“Hello~ What do you want, my Magiya Emerald~ I heard that you were injured, but you sound just fineee~”

A sweet voice came from the speaker of my phone. She dragged the end of her sentence, such was her way of talking.

I was told that I am calm, beautiful, and had a charming smile. But, none of that was true when I was dealing with the person that I called this time. If possible, I didn’t want to make a call to her, but I need to because it was my duty as The Center’s guard in Hydro City.

“Ms. Commander, it was not the time to joke. My report 3 days ago, I would like to change it. I met Zmeya a few minutes ago, inside the city. Not only that, I found some information about the prophecied girl from Zmeya.”

“Oh, that’s interesting.” The commander said with a normal tone.

“Tell me about it.” Ordered Commander.

After being ordered by her, I began to tell her what I knew about something that I found and about the girl that I heard from Zmeya.

“Good job, I will send another Magical Girl to Hydro City, I hope you can find the prophecied girl and guard her. You understand right~”

“Yes.”

Commander ended up the call and I looked in the direction where Zmeya headed to.

Zmeya’s POV

‘Ah~ The wind feels great!’

I headed towards the mountain that was located a bit away from Hydro City. Among all the bosses that I love in Magical Giants, the first boss left a deep impression on me. Although the graphic on the PC game was crappy, I still love her personality and character design.

The mountain where she lived was located near the third city. That meant, I skipped the second city which had nothing special at all except for a new building and the different food… Nevermind, I will visit the second city after checking the Main Character tomorrow.

I fly leisurely this time, unlike when I fought Magiya Emerald. There was no reason to fly faster, and I could enjoy the scenery if I flew at a reasonable speed like this. I said reasonable speed, but it was around 80KM/Hour, still as fast as riding a motorcycle.

I passed the second city after I fly for around thirty minutes, the city was a concrete jungle, similar to Hydro City. The name of this city was Lithi city, taken from Lithium.

I looked at the city for a few seconds before I flew towards my destination. The scenery from the second city to the mountain was different from before. There were a lot of craters that were caused by the Giants’ steps.

Beasts such as Garmr roamed the wilderness, and there were almost no trees, just a barren wasteland. Even so, there was a road that was built in the wasteland. The road was for a Magic Train, the only transportation that was used by civilians to move around to another city.

Similar to The Center, there was a Magical Girl stationed in Magic Train to protect it in case of emergency.

Umu, I wanted to try experiencing the ride inside the Magic Train too. A lot of things needed to be tried, I’m excited.

While thinking about a lot of things, I could see the mountain range where the first boss of Magical Giants resided. The first boss was a bit surprising, she was the Magical Girl from the Evil side. She served as an introduction for the Evil side of Magical Girl in this game, as such, she was destined to lose.

Her name was Zayats, taken from the Russian language that meant Hare. I am too excited when I knew that I was about to meet her and a smile formed on my face unconsciously as I increase my flight speed.

The mountain was like the usual mountain on Earth. It was full of life. Trees, Animals, Insects, but there was something that made it different from a normal mountain on Earth. Beasts, they had roamed the mountain as they did on the wasteland.

The Beasts on this mountain were shaped like Monkeys but they had dog rear legs and tails. The Beast climbed trees, jumped around, and ate the other animals on the mountain. They were called Shug Monkeys, a ferocious beast that ate almost every meat that was in their sights.

Zayats live on top of the mountain, and she only left her house once a month to stock ingredients for cooking. For Magical Girl from the Evil side, Zayats’s way of living was way too peaceful. So, I plan to drag her from the mountain and join me in my journey.

That would be fun, at least I will have fun with her. I know that because she was similar to me, similar to Yumei.

From the sky, I saw a simple wooden house on top of the mountain with a wooden fence surrounding it. That was my destination, Zayats’s house. The Main Character of Magical Giants met Zayats on the feet of the mountain because Zayats was ordered to take care of the mess in the first city.

This house was never revealed to the player. I only found this house in my New Game+ when I decided to roam around the world freely.

In other words, this house was a hidden location that can’t be found unless you play New Game+ and roamed around the world freely without following the story like me.

I descended from the sky and landed right in front of Zayats’s house. I looked to the left and right, the house was surrounded by bamboos. The atmosphere around the house was peaceful, this was the best place to retire in case someone wanted to run away from the problem that was present in the world.

I passed the fence that was surrounding the house and walked towards the entrance. As soon as passed the fence, I could feel the atmosphere changed, and I knew the reason.

“Barrier, huh. It was to ward away those small fries on the mountain. This one must say that you did a good job, Zayats.”

I turned back to look at the path that lead down the mountain. On that path, stood a girl around 160cm in height with tanned skin. Her white hair that was tied sideway was ruffled by the wind.

She was wearing black shorts and a long-sleeved black sports shirt which was stopped right below her breast. The shirt was skin-tight, so it displayed her D-Cupped breast splendidly. On top of her shirts, she wore a white jacket with red and black stripes on its sleeves and a black Z letter with a red outline on the back of her jacket. She was wearing white high sneakers with a black shoelace.

Zayats brought a basket in her left hand which was full of ingredients for cooking. She was looking at me as a simple black wand around 30 cm in length and 1 cm in diameter appeared on her right hand.

“Who are you?” She asked me as she pointed her wand at me.

I spread my arms and introduced my name once again, “This one is called Zmeya, the Independent Magical Girl who seeks fun and thrill. I am here to invite you to join this one’s adventure. Are you interested?”

As soon as I said that, Zayats’s body was engulfed in white flame. When the flame disappeared, Zayats’s clothes had changed. Now she was wearing a full-body suit with a white leotard on top of the half-transparent black bodysuit. White greaves appeared on her legs, and gloves with claw-like fingers appeared on her arms.

These clothes were what really differentiate between the Good side and Evil side of Magical Girls. They could be recognized at a first glance. The Good side always had frilly clothes, while the Evil side had rather sexy clothes.

Zayats had a feral smile on her face and put the basket that she held on the ground. She swung her right hand to the side and said.

“Interesting, show me your ability first, then I will recognize you as my Master and I will follow you everywhere.”

Right, I said that Zayats’s personality was like Yumei, but that was only the cover. The real Zayats was a girl who loved fighting, and she sought pain in the fight.

“Now, I hope you won’t hold back on me.”

Yes, she’s a masochist. She wanted to follow a strong girl who managed to defeat her. That was why I fell in love with her character. And I wanted to conquer her.
