Chapter 47: V3C15 – Heaven’s Song on the Holy Front

The stench of blood filled the air, much like at the demonic front. Here is the edge, no...now approaching the [Holy Kingdom] of [Curse] warfare. The army of enlisted and drafted, adventurers, and the knights are here fighting for their lives (Gauss was protecting the king but was sent out with the heroes).

"Hey, look at that!"

Various magics were blasted nonstop from a single position, next to a blindingly holy light. The [Curse]'s advantageous pursuit was slightly halted and declined as more people came out from the space. One painted himself in mana and began, brutishly, one-sidedly tearing down the monsters while another used various magics to coat a sword and slice through to the front lines.

"I-It's the heroes!"

"What!? I heard they returned to their world!"

"The heroes who saved us from the demons are here to save us from [Curses]!"

""We're saved!""

The saviors of [Orvinus], the heroes of the [Holy Kingdom] have arrived!

Rino POV:

We all arrived at the scene of battle, where it was oddly reminiscent of [Second Contact]. It brings back bad memories, the worst thing is that we're okay about that on the surface. Remembering my sister's dead corpse--I'll never see it again. My determination burns undoubtedly clear. I have to work hard, Harada-kun must be working hard now too...

The [Saint] goes to heal the wounded. The [Sword Maiden], Tatsumi, Gauss, Ryo, Ai, Rinku and I rushed to the front where we intercepted the crazy [Curse] push. Pierced by magic, smashed to pieces, voided. Ai is doing surprisingly well...!

Gauss took charge of the surviving knight unit, really, he's a great leader and person. Anyways, individually they're ([Curses]) weak, but such a number...

Yui and Thouria are supporting from the back while Sato...well he's doing what he always does. Honestly, nothing. But, it's not like he's useless! He's useful for other things like our weapons, storage, guiding, and...alright I'll just stop making him look pitiful. Anyways, let's finish this [Cursed One] and save everyone, Onee-chan...

Ryosuke POV:

"Hey Ryosuke!"

My back is pushed up against another larger and reliable one. My [Heavenly Armament] shines brightly and the [Holy Sword] is wielded heavily.

"Yo, long time no see Ikinver."

Why are you talking to me in the middle of battle?

"I thought you left this world, thought I'd never see ya again."

"Well, are you annoyed about it? I'm helping out this world again."

"Haha nothing nothing, glad to have you back...but such an attractive man being around might steal my Anna's heart away so don't talk to me."

"So that's what it is pft."

Ikinver and Anna, an adventuring duo we met when we were last in this world. Ikinver here is a wielder of a spiked morning star, using [Physical Enhancement] to bash in heads much like Tatsumi.

"So, the situation's looking grim--"

He kills a [Curse].

"They're never-ending...the troops might think that your appearance means their victory, but I don't know about that."

"True, but we have a plan... it's why we returned."

"I'll trust you on that then."

He flashes a daring smile.

"Leave it to us."

Days until the world ends...we need to do this quickly.

Ai POV:

After we arrived and a day of cutting away, the numbers of [Curses] didn't fall, expectedly. But, the fights are straining...and seeing how even the heroes couldn't empty but a drop of this ocean...morale was dumped to greater depths.

The [Curses] were ripped to shreds by a gyrating silver spear belonging to me. So many [Curses] in one place, I've never dealt with this many (besides during [Second Contact]) in my career as a [Magical Girl]. Anyways, looking at the depressed soldiers, I think the time to unveil my unique spell is on order. Goddess [Ervia] didn't tell me about it which was weird, but Fila analyzed it in a jiffy. It isn't something that can be used casually though...well, now's the time,

[Heaven's Song]

And I begin to sing the song I wrote while preparing for this moment. There's a lot this 'genius' songwriter can do in a short time! Anyhow, it's not that fluffy or concise...but I'd like to think it captures the emotions I saw through. There aren't any instruments on the battlefield, so Fila is going to have to generate the instrumental electronically and blast it at max volume...haha. I once again survey the surroundings and take a deep breath, I know what I'm doing. If I can extend this feeling to others, I'll do it with this bestowed power. If I've learned anything, I'll share it as my job. If I'm on a balance, I'll make the most of it before it falls. Not like I'll let it with this resolution in my chest!

"Music start!"

Though I'm singing during battle, my breathy exhaustion leaves a good sense of realism to my lines. This is what I wanted, but it is hard to multitask...

♪ We will live, so nobody dies ♪

♪ I am no one, but I want to be ♪
♪ What an undying desire to me ♪
♪ I break, the mold, for new heights ♪

Using [Void Point], I erase the upper body of an entire [Curse] and switch to the target behind me, quickly shifting my long spear.

♪ Uncometable, undeterminable, my wishes all flow dry ♪
♪ I'll never regret my efforts, because they helped me conflict and fly ♪

Ryosuke POV:

♪ Oh~ you live in the other direction (owaohao) ♪
♪ But I need, you to know ♪
♪ We've stained our eyes ♪

I look around at Nakano-san, to see her singing with a magical air surrounding her. Is this the new spell she gained from Goddess [Ervia]? I take a glance at our weary forces, to see their eyes glued on her figure. Their eyes are regaining color and...this is...strength is welling up within me!

♪ We're always struggling against ourselves and ♪
♪ Watching other people killing to try ♪

♪ I am special, but I have to be ♪
♪ My under defining powerlessly ♪
♪ I take, normalcy to brand new heights ♪

Her voice really is beautiful, sasuga Ai Nakano, the world-famous idol...I slash up at a winged [Curse], to have it twirl in descent after being shot by holy light. 

♪ Untouchable, understandable, my bright stars all burn dry ♪
♪ I'll always depend on yourself since, you made me think its worth a try ♪

The troops have regained themselves and are overflowing, enhanced strength from this? I'm thankful. Nothing unites the hearts of people quite like it, or maybe because it's Nakano-san. My ears enjoy the show along with my filling body.

Ai POV:

♪ Your shaded eyes ♪

I'm told by Fila that a call is coming from Yoru, Akito's [Focal]. Hearing that gave me a great idea, so we connected. I could hear only chaos on the other side, they must be fighting in a situation similar to this. Right now, it's audio-only, but that's enough...my voice can reach there too.

♪ I see you waning through pain and suffering and ♪
♪ Just who and what, gave you these lies? ♪

♪ I will save you, as I will freely ♪
♪ Is my answer ready yet, can I see? ♪
♪ Unshakeable, I reach for the clear blue skies. ♪

From the other side, I hear,

"This beautiful voice...of course, it must be! All hail Aki-sama!!!"

♪ I'll take your troubles upon my shoulders. ♪
♪ I'll take your sight on an endless ride. ♪
♪ I'll take your starfall and burn them up and ♪

♪ See the expression of your taken eyes ♪

"Wooooo!"

My angelic voice of the battlefield will later earn me the title the [War Angel], well it's not what I wanted but I'll accept it. I feel a bit relieved, but my emotions are second to what's ahead~
