Portable stadium seats had been arranged around the Academy sports ground.

Seeing Kazuki’s confused expression as he looked at the sudden change, Hikaru explained.

“The Inter-Division Competition is held in the sports ground. The stadium seating is for people invited from all over the city.”

Whenever she speaks with Kazuki, Hikaru would tremble if their eyes met.

“The competition wasn’t originally such a large event. It was originally a duel between the Knight and Magic Division Student Council Presidents. But, the teachers realized that this competition was a chance to show off to the general public, and turned into a way for spectators to watch the battle.” Kaguya continued the explanation when Hikaru accidentally met Kazuki’s eyes and hid behind Kaguya.

“The teachers are trying to maintain the image that the next generation of Knights and Summoners can be a match for Illegal Magic Users -- like the First Knights. After the destruction of Tokyo, the Japanese Government calmed the citizens down using heroic propaganda.”

“In short, it is a rather major event. The avenue needs to be set up, along with other preparations.” Hikaru continued, having recovered from her fear of Kazuki’s gaze.

It was already Saturday morning -- the week after Kazuki’s date with Mio…and his meeting with Kaya.

“But, if the audience is watching the competition, wouldn’t a stray bullet like Barrett be dangerous?” Kazuki asked.

“There is a powerful barrier around the sports ground, constructed by students who contract with Malthus, who can generate a powerful Barrier. In a way, those students actually work the hardest, ahahaha.” Hikaru let out a hearty laugh.

She smiled widely.

Then, suddenly, her smiling face twitched, “I, Incidentally, I am right now trying to treat you as a girl while I talk with you.”

Kazuki grinned, “It’s fine not to tell me this kind of fact, senior.”

Standing beside Kazuki and Hikaru, who were interacting with each other, Kaguya frowned again.

“...All of the preparation work is completely done by the students. But to use Summoning Magic as propaganda, inviting ordinary citizens to watch; the teachers’ wishful thinking is probably going overboard. It would be for the best if we had official Knights here to increase security. What should we do if Stigma Hunters or the like enter our academy? The teachers lack a sense of crisis.”

“Kaguya, you are thinking too much. Illegal Magic Users -- at least the Stigma Hunters -- tend to be mentally unstable. They wouldn’t be able to carry out a complex plan like targeting this event and pretend to be ordinary citizens to enter. If only one enters, then we have enough security to cope with them.” Hikaru said.

“Hikaru, you are too simple -- which is why you are always say such positive things.”

“Ahahaha, because your personality is negative, or overly positive, you will easily feel unease. If you are to sigh and groan, your happiness will slip away.” Hikaru responded, poking her tongue out at Kaguya.

“If we were to talk about something that causes unease…It is still Kazuki.” Kaguya said in a dejected tone. “I am still considered as Kazuki’s master…”

“No problem. Even if I can only chant Barrett, there will be a way for me to cope with it.” Kazuki tried to cheer her up.

“Is it really not a problem? Because if you lose, then you will have to leave the Magic Division…”

“I feel that smiling when cheering for me will make me much happier than that dejected look.”

“Kazuki is also saying that you are too negative.” Hikaru said to Kaguya, making fun of her.

“...Really! I know. I will at least use all of my strength to cheer for you!” Kaguya agreed, her smile reappearing, her voice becoming more enthusiastic.

Although his positivity with Mio reached around 100, Kazuki couldn’t use any Spell other than Barrett. However, he didn’t let his unease appear on the outside, trying to keep an optimistic expression.

Ignoring the Student Council, Elizabeth came to observe the situation.

The Knight Division Student Council, along with the second years who were responsible for maintaining the Barrier, followed by the audience -- were entering the sports ground.

The ordinary citizens had bought tickets in advance. These tickets were considered a precious items that were difficult to obtain -- there weren’t many chances to see Summoning Magic, in a safe setting.

Kazuki was sitting in the Magic Division’s tent, waiting for the competition to begin; and a familiar male student came to talk with him.

“Hey, you’re our President’s older brother, right?” The man said, before remembering something. “We have seen each other a few times, but I never introduced myself. I am Yamada Torazou. I will be fighting against your Student Council Vice President…Since I am going to lose anyways, I wanted to talk with you before the match.”

Torazou seemed to be a little embarrassed and scratched his cheek, “You used a sword to defeat a Summoner…I also watched that duel. How should I put it? I feel that you are amazing -- I always believed that your sister, and her disciples, were exceptions; but seeing that you have the same strength, I changed my opinion. I never knew that it was possible for a Knight below the third year to defeat a Summoner in a one-on-one duel… Maybe if you asked your sister, she would accept me as a disciple -- and I may have a chance of victory.”

Torazou’s eyes twinkled as he stared at Kazuki, causing Kazuki to feel a little embarrassed.

“I heard that you can only use Summoning Magic in your fight. Although it may be a problem for me, who is high-ranked in the Knight Division, to say this, but please do your best! Could you also watch my fight?”

Torazou asked, grabbing Kazuki’s hand and shaking it.
