"Did you see his mark?" asked the guild manager from Klem.
Klem shook his head in denial and said, "He doesn't like old men. If I would have been a woman, I would have taken my chances to see his mark and confirm his existence."
"Tch! That's good for now. His status is quite low so he most probably started his journey recently. His path is still unknown!" muttered Guild Manager.
Klem then walked next to him and while pointing at the skill list of Virin, he said, "I've never heard about these other two skills as well!"
The manager looked at the file again.
"Luck and Degenerate! Luck is kinda self-explanatory but this 'Degenerate' seems pretty ominous," muttered while thinking deeply.
"Put him on the Guilds Watch list. Write a letter to the head office to keep these three skills of records."
"I'll personally visit and request a meeting with the council. It would be our best option to not pester someone like him."
"Such actions could lead to unwanted consequences," he said while rubbing his forehead.
"It will be done, Manager," said Klem with a bow.
"What about the woman next to him?" The manager questioned while looking at Sriya's file.
"Her class is a healer but she's more like a housewife version of healer," replied Klem.
"Ohh! there's another thing. Although she's just a Slave, he loves her very deeply, I guess. He kept calling her 'betrothed' and even requested to register her as an adventurer."
"So did you do it?" asked the manager with a smile.
"Of course I did. She is beautiful, so other adventurers and men were stealing glances at her."
"But, you should have seen him, looking at other men with pure hostility, as if an alpha was protecting his pride."
"Unlike you, I would prefer to keep my distance from the 'Candidate' as much as possible," said Klem with a poker face.
"Hahahaha! I've never seen you so afraid, junior," said the manager while laughing.
"There's something wrong with this one. Oh another thing, please request every guild branch to assign him a "Female" representative."
"He was quite on edge while dealing with a 'Male' representative," said Klem with a shrug.
"Seriously?" asked the manager with twitching eyebrows.
"Yes! and make sure they're 'Cute' and 'Busty.' That would make him easier to deal with," said Klem.
*Haah~*
The old manager leaned back in his chair with a sudden headache.

Virin rushed back to the Inn and fed her a few more candies and made her lie down on the bed.
While he was caressing her head with love and affection, she looked straight into his eyes.
"Vir!" muttered Sriya.
"Hmmmm?" hummed with a questioning gaze.
"Will you ever lie to me?" she questioned while looking at the ceiling.
Virin smiled and muttered, "There's no use in lying to you anyway due to your skill."
She shook her head and said, "No! I promise that I won't use that skill on you, I'll believe whatever you'll tell me!"
Virin was shocked but with a smile, he said, "I'll never lie to you!"
She then questioned him, "You killed those drunkards yesterday, didn't you?"
Virin's hand immediately stopped and he looked at her face with shock.
"I remember that you were level 9 and didn't have that murderer title when you had shown me your status the last time," she said.
"Yes I killed them!" he said with cold eyes.
"Why?" she asked while looking at him with slight sadness.
He avoided her gaze and looked the other way.
"Answer me, why did you murder them?" she asked him again.
"Because they touched you!" he said while looking straight into her eyes.
"What?" she blurted out while she sat up on the bed.
"I have promised to protect you. It's my duty as your man."
"They tried to.....well they got what they deserved," said Virin while shrugging his shoulders.
Sriya covered her mouth with trembling hands and her eyes became moist.

"You murdered them yesterday and came back as if nothing happened. We even...." she stopped mid-sentence while she looked at him with a horrified expression.
"Well technically, I would have left them alive, after giving them some handicap of course."
"But one of them died by accident and the second one begged me to kill him, so I granted his wish," Virin said nonchalantly.
Sriya's eyes were wide open as she looked at his carefree attitude.
"You could have reported them to the authorities?" she said.
"They would have definitely come at us later, for revenge or something. It would have been quite a cliche plot if I was being honest," he replied.
Tears started pouring out of her eyes. Virin's heart panged after looking at her like that.
"Sriya I..."
"Don't touch me!"
"Your hands are drenched with blood, it reeks," she said while shaking his hand off.
"You're a psychopath!"
"A monster," she mumbled while she hugged her knees to her chest and started crying.
He sighed and started speaking.
"Fine, I won't touch you. I don't care if you think I am a monster."
"Sriya I don't feel even one ounce of guilt for killing those scum bags neither will I if I had to do the same things in the future."
"This is...what I am. I won't hesitate to kill anyone who tries to touch even a single strand of the hair of my woman with bad intentions."
"This has been my way of living and will be," he said and paused. Then he turned to look at the ceiling.
"And it might be right, for you to think that I'm a monster because of my ideology, but that's what defines me."
"I won't give you fake reasons to justify what I did that was good for society or I am a hero for killing those scumbags or any other in the future."
"I killed them because they tried to take something that belonged to me and will do the same in the future if circumstances call for it. If anyone tried to do something to a woman I love, I won't hesitate," he said and turned silent.
Tears were pouring down from her eyes and without looking at him she mumbled, "You're delusional, this...this isn't love."
He shrugged and said, "Maybe it's not for others but it is for me. And I'm sorry but you're stuck with a person like me."
"But if I had to burn this whole world for people I love, I wouldn't hesitate," he said with a smile and left the room shutting the door behind me.
When he left, Sriya touched her slave seal and mumbled, "Forever!"
---------------------------------------
It had been hours since Virin left the room, leaving Sriya behind who had been crying ever since.
She couldn't even believe a person as caring as Virin could kill someone and pretend as if nothing happened.
She knew very well, that what he had done was for her but she was finding it hard to accept this side of Virin.
She wiped her tears and decided to go and look for him.
'He wouldn't have gone far,' she thought inwardly and opened the door.
The moment she stepped out, she found Virin asleep next to the door, in a sitting position with his back resting on the wall.
Seeing him like this, her heart squeezed and she felt pangs in her chest.
She lifted him in a princess carry and carried him back to the bed.
[A/N: Wow! Sriya is strong]
Then she created some distance on the bed and laid down. Then she fell asleep after crying herself out.
Virin had woken up after listening to her sniffing and hiccups while crying.
It was painful for him as well, but he respected her choice and didn't touch her or try to comfort her in any way.
He cursed his luck for being the reason she was crying while all he ever wanted for her was only to smile.
'I really miss you, Sriya!' he thought inwardly with slightly moist eyes.
