Chapter 1: Mass Reincarnation

"What is that orb?" A young man asked himself, whilst looking at the sky from inside his room. Floating there, a white orb that was glowing dimly.

 

**Ding**

 

He heard his phone's ringtone, pulling it out, he quickly read the text message he got. 

 

<Did you see that weird orb in the sky?>

 

He looked at the orb again, before responding.

 

<Yes, do you know what it is? It's giving me a bad feeling.>

 

A moment later he got a reply

 

<No idea.>

 

<Wait! It's glowing brighter!>

 

Looking at the orb for the last time, he could see it was getting brighter by the second.

 

Feeling a wave of dread flow through his body.

 

"Mom! Dad! Lucy! Get -"

 

He shouted before getting cut off by a blinding light filling his view and a split second of pain filled his entire body. Then everything went dark.

In another world, a middle aged man hurriedly ran to the front gate of what looks to be an orphanage, in his arms he was carrying a young girl in a princess carry.

 

The young girl had dirty matted black hair, and a pair of black wolf ears on her head, and a black tail. She had a bunch of scratches and bruises on her face and arms. 

 

"What happened to her?! You were supposed to watch after her!" An old woman exclaimed while hurriedly running out of the orphanage.

 

"She snuck away from me... And when I found her she was beaten and unconscious, in front of a shop." The middle aged man responded while looking at the young girl. With anger slowly rising up in his voice. "Every passerby didn't even glance at her and ignored her."

 

The old woman's eyebrows twitched. "Bring her inside and we'll continue this conversation." She said while turning back and began walking into the orphanage with the middle aged man behind her.

 

Inside there were many children wearing dirty clothing, ranging from 5 to 12. The old woman quickly greeted everyone before going down a hallway amd stopping at a wooden door. 

 

Opening the door and revealing a small bedroom with a torn up bed in a far corner, and a small desk near it. 

 

The middle aged man walked to the bed, and set the young girl in his arms carefully on it. Soon after, the old woman put her hands above the young girl and mumbled a few words. Suddenly, 2 green magic circles appeared on the young girl, and her wounds started to visibly heal.

 

Releasing a small sigh the old woman looked at the middle aged man and asked "How the hell did she sneak away from you?"

 

"I-I don't know..." The middle aged man responded while lowering his head.

 

"How the hell do you not know?! You should know not to lose any of the children here, especially this child!" The old woman exclaimed with an angered expression, causing the mans' head to lower even more.

 

"D-Director, I'm sorry... I seriously don't know how, I looked back at where she was, and she was gone..." The man said with sincerity.

 

A moment later, the old woman let out a low sigh, and pinched the ridge of her nose. "Just, don't let it happen again John."

 

"Y-Yes of course I won'¡ let it happen again."

 

After talking for a while, the duo left the room.

**A few hours later**

 

"Urghh... Did I get run over by a truck?" I mumbled when I woke up. "Where the hell am I? Who the hell is copying what I want to say?!" I asked out loud before raising my voice but the same girl's voice copied what I wanted to say.

 

Suddenly, a robotic voice rang inside my head. 

 

[Welcome to your new life, host. I am your system, I was given to you by the gods of this world to support you in your new life.]

 

My mind went blank after hearing what this 'system' said. 'W-Wait I died, how?' I asked the system while trying hard to remember how I died, but my memories were all in a haze.

 

[You, and many others were killed by a failed summoning ritual. If you can remember, that white glowing orb in the sky that appeared moments before your death.]

 

Yet again my mind went blank after hearing the system. Nor did I know how to feel after the news. "So I died..." I mumbled to myself. Widening my eyes hearing the same voice. "Don't tell me.." 

 

Without thinking I tried to sit up. With a struggle due to the immense pain I felt all over my body, I managed to sit up. Bringing my hands into my view I could see they were small and delicate, and I had a bunch of bruises on my arms. Then looking down I saw I was wearing a brown shirt, and I could see my current body had started to develop breasts.

 

"I- I got reincarnated as a girl?! I got gender bent?! What the fuck!" I exclaimed with a loud voice.  I slowly felt anger rise up. 'I was a guy before! Why the hell did I got reincarnated as a girl?!' I exclaimed once again in my mind, now feeling depressed.

 

[Although the gods of this world reincarnated those from Earth, the reincarnation cycle was entirely randomized aside from a few things.]

'Eh? Wait I'm a demi-human?' She looked behind her and she could see a tail on her backside, and she put her hands on her head and could feel a pair of ears.

 

Her eyebrows furrowed. 'Hopefully being a demi-human doesn't have any downsides...' Looking at her blessings she wondered what the blessings did and the system brought up their information.
