Cameron sat across from John, who was giving him a blank stare. Cameron had met dozens of people. However, this was the first time he felt intimidated like a criminal. John's gaze was that of a father questioning his daughter's date.

Shia, who was sitting between them, was quietly snuggling and, of course, anticipating what would happen next. She hadn't expected John to show up at the Dagger house early in the morning and ask Rollo to bring him and Cameron together right away.

Rollo was naturally surprised. What's more, John's eyes looked like Shia's father's when he came to propose to his wife. There was no need for the werewolf to propose, but Rollo had been his daughter's bully as a child. So there was hatred in the heart of the future father-in-law at that time.

Although one of her father's Beta's at the time, Shia's father was quite respected by the Dagger family for their dedication to the improvement of science in the Lunar Pack. In fact, the father-in-law would also organize a rejection event for the two of them to separate at that time.

<You saw those eyes! I see the image of your father in the past,> Rollo said at that time. He looked at Shia with bulging eyes looking very shocked and traumatized.

Shia ended up driving John to Audrey Dagger's house because of those words. John didn't say much on their journey. The middle-aged man appeared to be on his way to murder Cameron. What was her brother-in-law doing now?

Despite the fact that he is a well-known jerk. Cameron would never cause such uproar with the fathers again.

"According to one of my subordinates, you brought my master because you were being followed by the scouting troops. Is this correct?" John began to speak up, making Cameron wince.

“Yes, sir!” Cameron replied with a smile.

“Where is she now?”

“In the room, we came home in the rain yesterday. For fear of being spotted by the scouting troops, I brought her here. Unfortunately, because she used her powers for too long, Selene ended up falling ill.” Cameron hugged himself and smiled sadly.

Shia and John are astounded. Because Cameron told them Serena was sick, or because the man calling Serena by her given name?

“Did you call her by her given name?” John couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

“She let me!” Cameron responded awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck.

John was stunned. “How is she now?” He abruptly changed the subject.

“Fever, I’ve asked Harriet to make a herbal concoction for her. So you take it easy!”

“Hmm, the progress is quite good. Miss is extremely difficult to approach, especially by a stranger she has just met!” John sighed.

“Are you going to take her to the castle now?” Cameron looked at John’s face, which appeared to relax and calm down.

John sighed as he closed his eyes. “But first, sir, I have a question for you!” John leaned forward.

Cameron swallowed his saliva with widened eyes and a racing heart.

“Is Miss your mate?”

Shia cast a glance at Cameron. The man made a sour face at John.

John sat up straighter. “Sir, I’m aware of your reputation! I thanked you for saving her when you told Gerald she was your mate. However, your remarks about mate….”

“She’s my mate!” Cameron’s eyes narrowed, his jaw tightened, and his hands on the chair’s arms clenched tightly.

John's eyes widened, Shia took Cameron's hand to calm his brother-in-law.

"I know you're worried Sir John, even though my brother is a scoundrel and likes to screw women. For a woman of Miss Serena's stature, he wouldn't be so presumptuous! So, take it easy!" Shia smiled at John.

Cameron looked at Shia with narrowed eyes. "Should you say that?"

Shia laughed as she shrugged her shoulders. “That’s the reality, I can’t lie about it!”

Cameron scowled.

“I came here intending to ask you to sever the thread that connects you and Miss Serena!” John looked at Cameron. “Not just for the good of the Lunar Pack, but for your good as well!”

Cameron winced. “You’re worried about my life?”

“No, I’m just worried about my Master!” John sighed. “I’m talking about your reputation not just because of how people judge you. It’s how you judge a handicapped woman in your eyes!” John folded his legs and leaned his head into his palms.

“About the wound Selene got?” Cameron snorted with laughter. “How did you protect your princess until she had such severe injuries?” Cameron hissed as he slammed his fist on the armrest of the chair.

Shia looked at Cameron with bulging eyes. John was silent at Cameron’s words.

“I think you’ve seen how broken Princess Serena’s body is.” John looked at Cameron with an icy stare.

“What? Cam!” Shia was stunned when she realized the direction of their conversation.

Cameron was silent, his expression completely unchanged. Anger was very evident on his face, his jaw tightened, and his teeth chattered with anger, the look in Cameron’s eyes was endlessly exuding an aura of annoyance. Cameron’s aura was very pressing, but John seemed unaffected by it.

“I’m not going to talk about that! I came because of your reputation as a Don Juan who likes to charm beautiful women, Miss Serena is not your taste for bedmates.” John sighed and adjusted his seat.

“Bedmate?” Cameron glared. “You think I consider her the same as the women I sleep with?” Cameron got up from his seat.

“That woman, Princess, is old. 27 years old is too old to find a partner.” John’s expression remained unchanged as he looked at Cameron. “I also know you hadn’t met your mate until you met her that night at the castle!”

Cameron pressed his lips together. His gaze remained fixed on John. He didn’t believe that his past reputation would jeopardize his relationship with the life partner that the Moon Goddess had chosen for him.

Cameron reasoned that asking Serena to reject him would make things easier. However, the more he gets to know the woman, the less willing he is to let her go. Her body wasn’t perfect, but she was perfect for Cameron.

"Miss Serena has already thrown away her title as Princess, finding a life partner with such a body condition is not easy. We only wish our little princess a happy life, sir!" John looked at Cameron with teary eyes, but his expression remained unchanged.

Shia and Cameron's breath caught. The man before them suddenly looked very fragile. The tears fell without John realizing it.

"If you can provide that happiness for her and she doesn't reject you. Go ahead! I don't forbid you to continue your relationship down the aisle." John sighed as he blinked his eyes repeatedly.

He didn't expect the man in front of him to really love the Princess that much. The tears still in his eyes and the look of sadness on his aging face were like a father who was afraid to leave their little daughter with someone unworthy.

“I wonder, what is the purpose of this trip of yours?” Cameron turned around and walked towards the fireplace.

There was no answer, John just smiled sadly. “I don’t know, he didn’t tell us the purpose of this trip.”

Cameron took a breath and suddenly he widened his eyes. “Hers smell… fading!” He hurriedly walked towards the door and to his surprise he saw Harriet standing with a pale and frightened face.

“Miss… Miss Serena ….” Her swallowed hard.

“I know, step back. I will find her.” Cameron walked past Harriet.

“What’s wrong Harriet?” Shia stood up and looked at Damon’s maid.

“Sh-she’s gone. Miss Serena’s gone.” Harriet replied nervously. She looked very scared. That woman seemed to be very important to Cameron. Who knew what the man would do to her. The Dagger family took great care of their spouses. He could be punished for his negligence.

“How could that be?” Shia was surprised to hear Harriet’s answer.

“I don’t know. I just left her for a while, and when I checked again in her room. She was gone.”

“I think I know where she went! I have to go now and thank you for taking your time, madam!” Sir John stood up and put on his hoodie.

“Oh shit!” Cameron ran through the forest following the scent of Serena’s body. “Why did you just leave, Selene!” he cursed.
