I pinpoint the trajectory of these lights and step to the left. This way, only one knife would go near me. I conveniently grab it as it passes by.

 

The tip of my fingers clam on the body of the light. This thing feels like real matter but it disappears seconds later. Are people of this world capable of manifesting these things? Is this what martial arts in this world are like?

 

“How dare you!” He yelled at me. He probably thought me grabbing his attack to be me mocking him. “Tyrant Blade!” His hand procures a serrated blade made of blue light. “See how I discipline you today!”

 

He lunges at me with the light blade in hand. His form is passable. His speed is bit more troublesome but it’s not something these eyes haven’t seen.

 

As he swings the blade down, I step inside his zone. My hand grabbed his wrist. His speed is passable but I know this speed translates to only mediocre strength. I can somewhat control him with my strength…

or not.

 

Strangely his hand carries more force than I expected. I had to abandon that intention half way and create distance. Thankfully, he is not the best with his reaction.

 

This is weird. Are speed and strength not the prime factors in the weight of an attack? I couldn’t had miscalculated. I did this for most of my last life. Is there another factor? Could it be related to the strange phenomenon exploited by the people of this world?

 

“Slippery brat!” He yelled again.

 

Now that I am thinking. Who is this guy? He is probably not the head of the Chen family, or perhaps he is but I just oversell the words of that servant. Anyway, let’s hear him out. “Are you people of the Chen family?”

 

“WHAT?” He is shocked by the absurdity of my question. The dudes behind him also share a similar reaction. 

 

This means he is not a Chen. Then who are these people? Why did he attack me?

 

“YOU LITTLE!” He suddenly lowers his voice. His expression is changed too. Did he come to some revelation? “I see. So you are pretending to be crazy.”

 

Huh?

 

“You hurt the young master of the Chen family. Then you’re afraid of taking responsibility, so you pretend to be crazy. Yup. That’s it. Your acting is good, else you would have dropped to your knees when seeing me.”

 

Putting his conclusion aside, what’s with that last statement? “Why do I have to kneel to you? Am I your servant or something?”

 

“Hoh! This brat. Still acting. I am not falling for that. I don’t know what happened to you the last few days but you have guts. This is better than hearing you crying and begging. For someone from Dong clan, it makes me sick to have the same blood as you weakling.” The light blade disappeared.

 

I don’t know why but this teenager is getting on my nerves. He is about four years older than me. He didn’t even manage to land a hit but he ran his mouth like he was the winner.

 

Moreover, I don’t like how he treats Dong Yun An. Even if she was a crybaby, it doesn’t give him the right to humiliate her like forcing her to kneel to him.

 

“What are you doing over there? I am in a good mood so I won’t beat you half dead. Get over here and apologise for your disrespect!”

 

“I gave you my question. You haven’t answered me. Who are you?”

 

“This stupid brat-“

 

“Are you deaf?”

“YOU!” He creates the light blade again. “Today, If I don’t discipline you properly, my name is not Dong Bai (hundred)!”

 

Closing the distance, his blade hand swings down with intent of cutting me in half. The blade easily cuts through the fabric of my shirt and bites into my left shoulder.

 

I could dodge the blade but somehow I am not in the mood. The more the blade went down, the greater the resistance of my flesh and bones. Think of this wound you caused me as consolation prize.

 

“ARRRRGGGH!” That was not my scream. It’s the scream of the idiot that had his arm bone broken in two places.

 

As his hand brought the blade down, my fists crashed onto his arm horizontally. My left hand punched near the elbow of his right arm, while my right fist struck near his wrist. For an amateur like him, he wouldn’t have an inkling of such a thing like this would happen.

 

The fractured bone pierced his skin making a hideous wound. I diverted my eyes downward, watching him wailing like the stupid brat of last time.

 

The men rush over to his side. Their eyes meet mine frightfully. They help him up, then pull him back away. The entire time their eyes barely divert to check on their little master.

 

I feel a bit better but this little exertion left me wounded. It isn’t too serious. Also, this is not the time to worry about it.

 

“You.” The guy being pointed at skipped a heartbeat. “Tell me. Who are you guys?”

 

My question weirds him out, but he quickly answers. “We-we are servants of Dong family.”

 

“And who is that guy?”

 

“Young master Dong is the second young master of the Dong family.”

 

“What is his relationship with me?”

 

“L-lady Yun An is cousin of young master Dong.”

 

“What are you doing here?”

 

“Uhm…”

 

“Speak.”

 

“This morning, the young master heard that lady Yun An hurted the young master of the Chen family… so the young master set out… to get the lady and to apologise to master Chen.”

 

This clears thing up for me. If I do insult people of a different family without justification, mother would tell me to apologise too. However… “do you know that kid picked the fight first?”

 

“So what?” Dong bai yelled. “It’s the young master of the Chen family. Do you think you could just hit him? You should have just played along. Just cry like you usually do and beg him. When he gets bored, he will let you off the hook. Do you even know what you have caused? Because of you, my father has to go over and apologise to the Chen family.”

 

When I was about to retort, a middle-aged man jumped out in front of people of Dong family. Ignored me, he turns to Dong Bai. “Bai, my son. What happened to you? Are you ok?”
