Chapter 2: Terminology

Interstellar Era: Also known as IE for short, is the name of the current era due to humanity finally achieving the goal of living amongst the stars in space colonies. The start and signal of a new age.

Terran: A person born on Earth.

Spacian: A person born in space in one of the colonies in the Earth Sphere or on the moon at one of the lunar cities.

Martian: A person born in the Martian sphere.

Enlightened: A term used in reference to individuals who have evolved past normal humans. They have enhanced spatial awareness and even physic abilities such as empathy and precognition. They are the next stage of human evolution.

Technology:

Mech Driver: Giant mechanical robots that have become center stage for the next generation of warfare. First developed by the Martian Confederation during their decades of isolation from the rest of humanity. Due to the harsh conditions on Mars and their needs to survive as well create a stable environment these mechanical workers were created to aid them. But after war began they quickly developed them into fighting machines that can take down entire fleets of ships with no problems.

Cybernetics: It has advanced to such a stage that humans who lose limbs can gain prosthetics that simulate real limbs including the sensations of touch, heat, and even pain.

Avionics Maneuverability System: Also known as the AMS for short. Is a system installed in all mech drivers both Federation and Confederation manufactured. Which allows them to move and maneuver in Zero-G without difficulty. Thanks to a series of micro thrusters built into the mech driver frames at key points.

Plasma Rifle: Allows one to shoot shots of concentrated plasma energy, making it a devastating weapon.

Plasma Blades: Highly condensed blades of plasma energy, capable of cutting through almost anything.

Compact Neutrino Energy Reactor: The core of mech drivers. They produce immense amounts of energy needed to power them. Which are created from miniaturized particle accelerators.

GENESIS System: A biological/machine user interface support system that releases the limiter of a mech driver allowing its pilot increased speed and defensive capabilities. But most can't handle the backlash of data influx, which is why this system was specifically designed for Enlightened.
