“Myeol Mang.”

Clap!

Fsshhhhh!

“Thomas, wake up!”

“I’m awake…. What is it?” Thomas replied as he rubbed his face.

“We’re at Grandma and Grandpa’s house already, get out of the car so we can go in.”

“Alright, alright.” Thomas said as he unbuckled his seatbelt and opened the car door.

[“Go straight to Grandpa’s room after saying hi to Grandma, we need to discuss what you were doing in the Transcendental path.”]

Nodding in response as he slid out of the car, Thomas began to walk up to his grandparents house.

After reaching the front door of the house and opening it, Thomas walked into the house and saw his Grandma, Charlotte Smith, sitting on a couch watching TV.

“Hey Grandma.” Thomas said as he walked up to the backside of the couch.

“Thomas, it’s so good to see you again!” Charlotte said after slowly turning around.

“It’s great to see you too Grandma, how have you been?”

“I’ve been alright, you should really go and see your Grandpa though, he’s been dying to see you.”

“Alright, I’ll come back and talk with you once I catch up with Grandpa.” Thomas said as he walked out from behind the couch and towards the hallway leading towards his Grandfather's room.

However, just as Thomas stepped in front of his Grandfather’s door and placed his hand on the handle.

[“Before you enter, what were my final words to you in the Transcendental path?”]

“You said something about if I cultivated for too long in the Transcendental path I would go insane.”

“You may enter.”

Opening the door and walking into his Grandfather’s room, Thomas noticed Lilly already beside his Grandpa, who was sitting up in his bed.

After closing and locking the door behind him, Thomas looked at his Grandpa and asked. “So, why do you want to know what I was doing in the Transcendental path?”

“Well to start off, about an hour after we left you alone, our access to the Transcendental path was cut off. But it was only the location of the Transcendental path that got cut off, as both me and your mom could still enter the memories.”

“So you couldn’t enter the Transcendental path after an hour…. Well after unsuccessfully trying to use the Foundations of Heaven and Earth in the Transcendental path I decided to try and explore the place.”

“What did you just say?”

“I said that I unsuccessfully tried to use the Foundations of Heaven and Earth in the Transcendental path then decided to explore the place.”

“You decided to wander within the Transcendental path?! That entire realm is empty, there is nothing in it, so why did you decide to explore it?!” Lilly exclaimed after placing her palm on her face.

“It’s not completely empty though, I found this really weird pool of water that floated above ground and had water dripping upwards into it, it felt like I was upside down on the roof of a cave.”

“........ What?” Lilly responded in disbelief.

“Thomas. How did you stumble upon this ‘floating pool of water’?” Thomas’s grandfather replied as he slowly got out of his bed.

“Well, I noticed that I wasn’t gaining any internal energy after a while of cultivating so I decided to just walk in a random direction, and after a while of walking I noticed a drop of water rise directly in front of me.”

“And when you looked up, you saw this ‘floating pool of water’?” Thomas’s grandfather said as he walked towards Thomas.

“Yeah, but after a moment of looking at it I jumped into it.”

Smack!

After completely stopping in his tracks as he heard Thomas’s last sentence, Thomas’s grandfather turned and faced Lilly before speaking.

“Lilly, come here for a second.”

“Yes sir.” Lilly replied as she walked out from next to the bed and towards Thomas.

After Lilly came within arms reach of Thomas and his grandfather, The room around them suddenly began to disintegrate from the roof down until only an empty world with a starry sky remained.

“Why did you bring us into the Transcendental path?” Thomas asked as he quickly examined his surroundings.

“Thomas, after you jumped into the floating pool of water, what happened?”

“Well, after I jumped in, the ‘cave’ that the pool was in changed and stopped me from leaving the pool the same way I came in, so I started swimming up to what I thought was a pocket of air above the water.”

“What you thought was a pocket of air? What was it?”

“Well, once my head breached through the water I found myself in the field that you first wake up in when entering the memories, you know, the one with the giant tree.”

“So you exited the pool of water and found yourself in the plains of Anhui? Was there anything else there?”

“Yeah, there was something in the horizon moving a lot, so I walked over to it and found a person.”

After several moments of baffled silence, Lilly finally spoke.

“You did what now?”

“I walked over to the ‘moving object’ in the horizon and found out that it was a person.”

“So let me get this straight, you not only found an floating pool of water, jumped into it and came out in the plains of Anhui all in the Transcendental path which is supposed to be completely empty.”

“That sums it up pretty much, but I do have to admit that meeting Myeol Mang was…. Scary, to say the least.”

“Okay that’s it. Thomas, quit lying to us! What did you do to lock me and your Grandpa out of the Transcendental path!?”

“I’m not lying though, all of that really happened.”

“Thomas, your mother and I have been using this realm for decades, and never have we come across anything you’ve said, I would have believed what you were saying if you hadn’t mentioned the person you met being ‘Myeol Mang’.”

“But all of that really happened, what would I gain by lying to you about this?”

“There doesn’t have to be any gain just to tell a lie, that is how pathological liars came to be. And since you lied to us, you no longer have to help us break the curse, you will receive no help from us on the topics of Jianghu, martial arts, or the Transcendental path.”

Clap!

However, after trying to remove himself, Lilly and Thomas from the Transcendental path, Thomas’s grandfather became distraught.

“Now, now, Dominic. You shouldn’t be passing off Thomas’s words as lies so easily, they were the truth after all.”

Clap!

Fsshhhhh!

After watching the Transcendental path’s ground morphed from it’s regular pitch black dirt into bright green grass after hearing a familiar voice speak to his grandpa, Thomas turned around and was met with the man who called himself Myeol Mang.

However, Thomas’s grandfather, Dominic Smith, was left confused as to how this person knew his real name, even though they’ve never met once in their life.

“You, how do you know my name, and how do you know whether Thomas is lying or not!?” Dominic asked, not even noticing the change in scenery.

“Dominic, Dominic, I know your name because I’ve been watching you every time you went into the memories. The memories are just an alteration of my memories after all. And I know Thomas isn’t lying because look where we are, right underneath the giant tree in the plains of Anhui.”

“Huh? What do you mean we’re in the…. Plains of….. Anhui.” Dominic stammered out as he noticed where he was standing.

“See, Thomas wasn’t lying, and here’s the thing, he’s a temporary disciple of mine, so he won’t be needing yours and Lilly’s teachings until after I’m done with him.” Myeol Mang said as he walked directly towards Dominic and placed his hand just before his forehead.

Smack!

Fsshhhhh!

Watching as the Dominic disintegrated from the Transcendental path after being flicked by Myeol Mang, Lilly exclaimed in shock.

“What did you just do!?”

“I kicked him out of the Transcendental path and locked him out for an hour or so, and now it’s your turn to go.” Myeol Mang said before turning and facing Lilly

“If you think I’m just going to let you kick me out without putting up a fight you’re wrong!” Lilly retorted as she dug her feet into the ground and prepared a martial arts stance.

Sigh… You don’t seem to realize, don't you, you’re leaving whether you like it or not. And once you leave you will not try to forcibly take Thomas out of the Transcendental path either, otherwise you’ll be locked out for longer.” Myeol Mang said as he started walking towards Lilly.

However, just as Lilly was about to lunge forward and attack Myeol Mang, he suddenly disappeared from her line of sight.

‘Shit! Where’d he go?!’

“Right behind you.”

Smack!

Fsshhhhh!

Standing motionless at the fight he had just witnessed, Thomas could only stammer in awe and confusion until he noticed Myeol Mang looking at him.

“Uhmm, Myeol Mang, how did you do that?”

“That is of no importance, but for now we shall establish some ground rules as studnet and teacher.”

“What are the rules Myeol Mang?”

“First, you will call me Master until I say otherwise. Second, you will only ask questions that pertain to martial arts and the Transcendental path. Third, you will follow my commands to a tee or you will no longer be my student. Do you understand?”

“Yes Master, when shall we begin training?”

“We will begin training when you try and enter the memories, as right now there is no time dilation affecting the Transcendental path because of my presence. So I’ll give you two options, you can either spend the next five minutes here going over the details of your training with me, or you can return to Lilly and Dominic now and go over the details later.”
