“Gahhhh!”

After covering his eyes from the blinding blue light being emitted from Thomas’s body, Myeol Mang stood motionless for a moment as he thought to himself.

‘So, watching the fight triggered a realization within him…. This is going to be interesting.’

---

After patiently waiting for twenty minutes while facing away from Thomas to avoid being blinded, the light being emitted slowly began to fade.

‘So it’s finally over? Still, I’m surprised he had a realization just from watching a fight though.’ Myeol Mang thought as he turned around and started walking towards Thomas.

After arriving in front of Thomas, Myeol Mang cleared his throat while Thomas’s eyes slowly opened.

“Congratulations on your realization Thomas, now if I may inquire, what was your realization?”

“Encompassment of Perfection.” Thomas replied as he slowly stood up and looked into Myeol Mang’s eyes.

“Oh? So you’ve realized the truth about the world?”

“No, I realized the truth about the Seven Heavens Sword.”

“But ‘Encompassment of Perfection’ as you called it, can be referred to the world, since nothing a human can ever do or create will be completely perfect. The only things that can be truly perfect are made by nature.”

“And yet you managed to perfectly ensnare twelve sword slashes within a perfect circle on my mom’s and Grandpa’s chest.”

“Well, I am an exception to that realization, as I am no longer human.”

“Right you’re a part of the Transcendental path now, you’re a part of nature so you can create martial arts that are ‘perfect’.”

“That is only half right, Thomas. My mind is a part of the Transcendental path and nature, this body however, is very much real.” Myeol Mang replied as he swung down upon his left elbow with his glowing white sword.

Thud!

“Ughhhhh! Why’d you cut off your arm?!” Thomas exclaimed before throwing up at the sight of Myeol Mang’s severed arm.

“Look up Thomas, otherwise you’ll miss it.”

“Miss what?” Thomas replied before throwing up once more.

“Just look, did you already forget the rules of being my pupil?”

Looking back up at Myeol Mang’s severed arm, Thomas finally realized what Myeol Mang had meant by ‘miss it’.

The sight that greeted Thomas left him in shambles as he watched Myeol Mang’s left arm begin to squirm and slowly regenerate from the cut just below his elbow.

“I…. What is going on with your arm?!”

“I used the Transcendental path to recreate what my body looked like before I entered the realm of Ascension. That was why Lilly and Dominic were able to hurt me, because their bodies are on par with or better than my current one.”

“Wait, so my mom and grandpa are on par with you physically? How is that possible?”

“Thomas, Thomas. Dominic has been in the Realm of Greed since he was nineteen, and Lilly has been there since the age of twenty. And neither has entered the Realm of Ascension because they haven’t uncovered the truth of the qi required to enter it. So, they are quite possibly the strongest people currently within humanity.”

“Wait, currently? Are you saying that there are others in the world who can use martial arts and internal energy?!”

“Did you seriously think that martial arts died over time? I said they’re quite possibly the strongest people currently within humanity because there are still martial artists throughout the world. Hidden away like lion ready to pounce on it’s prey, waiting for their chance to rise the social hierarchy of the current world and make themselves stronger.”

“But how? Until I started entering the memories, I couldn’t even feel the qi around me, so how could there be people who have learned internal energy when the didn’t have the Transcendental path?”

“Thomas, do you have an obsession with asking stupid questions? The people of the past didn’t have the Transcendental path to help them learn how to feel the qi around them did they?”

“No, they didn’t, but that’s besides the poi-”

Suddenly realizing the point that Myeol Mang was making, Thomas sighed before bowing towards Myeol Mang.

“I’m sorry, Master. I didn’t understand what you had meant because I was too close minded.”

“So, you understand that humanity has long since been able to feel the qi of the planet and harness it with breathing techniques? Good, now that you understand what I’m trying to tell you and you’ve had a realization. It’s time for you to go back to the real world, I will see you when you go to sleep, Thomas.” Myeol Mang said as he walked up towards Thomas.

Smack!

Fsshhhhh!

Thomas rubbing his forehead from the pain of being flicked by Myeol Mang as the Transcendental path disintegrated around him.

‘Does he have to flick me every time he kicks me out of the Trascendental path? Crap, I forgot to ask how he got the nickname “Vanquisher of Sects”, and why his sword was pure white as well.’

Noticing that the world around him had returned to that of his grandpa’s room, Thomas began to look around for his mom and grandpa.

‘Huh, where did they go?’ Thomas wondered as he noticed the lack of their presence in the room.

Turning around and opening the room’s door, Thomas began to walk out into the hallway leading to the living room of his grandparents house.

“Hey Mom, are you still here?” Thomas said as he stepped into the living room.

“Oh Thomas, you’re done.” Lilly responded as she noticed Thomas calling for her.

However, just as Thomas was about to ask why they had left him alone in his grandpa’s room.

[“Don’t say anything about the Transcendental path to your grandpa or me until after you complete your training with Myeol Mang. And as for why we left you alone in your grandpa’s room, it was because you were having a realization and we didn’t want to sit in a blinding light for twenty minutes.”]

“Yeah, I’m done. What did I miss?” Thomas responded hastily after hearing Lilly’s warning in his head.

“Not much, come sit back down and talk with me and your grandma will you?” Dominic replied as he patted an open spot on the couch.

Walking over to the couch and sitting down in the empty spot Dominic was referring to, Thomas relaxed and began to zone out the family conversation.

‘So, on Friday I woke up from the dream of Myeol Mang’s death, but how could he have died if he reached the eighth realm? Then after touching Fallen Star I entered my version of the memories the Transcendental path created for me. But why did touching Fallen Star trigger the Transcendental path? Are they connected in some way or was it a coincidence?’

“Thomas.”

‘Then when I was in the memories, Dae Hyun’s punches were faster than Elijah’s, but they didn’t pack as much power into them. Or was it that he was faster and as strong as Elijah but my body had already grown stronger from getting beaten earlier in the day?’

“Thomas.”

‘And why did I keep passing out in the middle of the training with Jin Tang? Sure I was overworking my body, but once I woke up an hour or so later I felt like I could continue training throughout the night.’

“Thomas!”

‘Wait, how did Myeol Mang even heal my mom and Grandpa? How does the Transcendental path even heal and change my body while I’m in the memories? Maybe it’s providing my body with the nutrients it needs by moving them from somewhere else in the universe? Or maybe it’s using internal energy to construct the amino acids needed for cellular growth?’

“THOMAS!”

‘And what is up with the Transcendental path, and the weird messages from my mom and Grandpa in my head? How do they even work’

“THOMAS!!!”

‘And what even is internal energy? When I got Fallen Star examined by Stevan he said that there was a massive amount of electrons flowing across the atoms of the sword. So is internal energy just the amalgamation of electrons within my dantian or nature?’

[“Thomas.”]

Looking up after hearing Lilly’s voice enter his head, Thomas noticed his entire family looking at him with wide eyes.

“Uhhhh, what is it?”

“It’s obvious you weren’t paying attention, we asked you a question and you just sat there staring blankly at the wall.”

“Oh sorry, I got lost in thought. What was the question?”

“What happened to you at school on Friday, David says you got into a fight.”

“Oh, right. Yes I did get into a fight, but my injuries healed very fast this time for some reason. But my friend wasn’t so lucky.”

“You were fighting your friend at school?!” Thomas’s grandmother exclaimed.

“No I wasn’t, my friend was getting bullied by one of the school bullies during lunch, but by the time I found him he had already lost and had several broken bones.”

“Oh no! Is he going to be okay?”

“He’s probably going to be okay, according to his parents he didn’t have any internal bleeding so once his bones heal he should be good to come back to school. Hopefully the doctors will let me see him again so I can tell him what’s happened to the bully.”

“Well at least he’s going to be okay, and that bully should be expelled from the school for what he’s done.”

“He’s been suspended for now since this was the first time he got caught this year, but knowing him once he’s back in the school he’s going to try and pick on me and CJ again.”

“Well, do you want to go visit him tomorrow after school then Thomas?” Lilly said as she stood up off the couch.

“Yeah I would, what time can we go?”

“Whenever you want, but it’s about time we leave so get up off the couch.”

“Wait, it’s time to leave already?”

“Yeah, it’s already five-thirty, if we don’t leave soon then we’re going to be eating dinner cole to nine pm.”

“Well, alright. Grandma, Grandpa, it was nice seeing you again.” Thomas said as he stood up off the couch and hugged his grandma.

“It was good to see you again too Thomas, and make sure that bully gets what he deserves.”

“I will.” Thomas replied as he stopped hugging his Grandma and moved over to Dominic.

“Good luck Thomas.” Dominic said as he extended his hand towards Thomas.

“Thank you Grandpa.” Thomas replied as he shook Dominic's hand.

After saying his goodbyes to his grandma and Dominic, Thomas walked towards the front door, only to stop when Dominic’s voice entered his head once more.

[“Don’t worry about the coveters, me and your mom will take care of them. You just focus on the training with Myeol Mang and school.”]

Opening the front door with Lilly and David behind him, Thomas walked out of the house and towards the passenger side of the car.

“You should sleep on the car ride home Thomas, it looks like there’s heavy traffic on the way home.” David said as he got into the driver's seat of the car.

“Alright.” Thomas replied as he got into the backseat of the car and fastened his seatbelt.

[“Try not to have any realizations in the two days your going to spend in the memories, it would suck if you had a realization while we’re still on the road and cause us to crash.”] Lilly’s voice echoed in Thomas’s mind.

‘I know, I know. Two day’s huh, that should let me get a decent amount of training in….’ Thomas thought as he leaned his head on the car door and let his eyes drop.
