Chapter 19: Hooded Figure

*I don't understand... Why can't I control two elements at the same time? I could do it without problems before, then... Why I'm having problems with this now?*

"Why do I have problems with this? I could handle it before the ritual." I say almost glaring at my mentor.

I felt better at using mana and now I can't handle this, what if the ritual actually made me weaker?

Jack sighs, "Don't worry, the ritual didn't strain you in some way." he continues, "You only need to restabilize your body."

"What is wrong with my body? I could control two elements some years ago, and now I can handle only one..." I stare at the ground thinking for what reason my body acts like this.

"It's nothing bad actually, you can learn to use two elements with no problems, just follow my instructions," Jack says sits crossing his legs together.

I follow what he is doing and sit in the same position while facing him.

"Alright, first, close your eyes, " Jack continues talking as I close my eyes, "Rise your arms to your chest and concentrate your mana in them." I concentrate all of my mana in my arms.

*Concentrating all of this mana inside my arms hurts a lot... I'm not developed enough to put all of this mana in two limbs."

I groan as I start to feel more pain as time pass.

"Now, absorb mana from the ambient." Jack continues to give me instructions while I try to resist the pain.

I start to see various particles coming toward my arms, the difference is that it doesn't give me more pain, they are distancing themselves from the particles that came from my body.

"Now, try to emit two elements using the mana from the ambient," Jack says before standing up.

Fire and Electricity start to appear in my hands, the mana that was from my body just remained inside my arms while the ambient mana was the one that created the elements, I still feel my arms burning but I still can use the elements.

"When you could use two elements without difficulty, it was because your mana was weaker than now, and with your lucius purified you are stronger than before," Jack says.

"Then how I should fight in the tournament?" I say knowing that I will be disadvantaged.

"Just fight with 1 element, only some rare cases used two elements in the tournament, though it would be better if you trained at using two elements at the same time, it will give you more possibilities of winning." Jack continues, "Well training ended for today." After he ended talking he starts to walk inside the castle.

"M-mh, so I need to train this now," I say looking at the ground and smiling in desperation.

I feel a hand touching my shoulder, turning my head I see Ava.

"Don't worry too much, you are still stronger than most people that have my age." She says giving me a smile trying to support me and trying to keep up my morale.

Thinking of what I would do now, I decide to go outside the castle and take a walk.

As soon as I started going toward the city Ava asks me, "Why are you going out in the city?"

I turn to her and respond, "I'm just going for a walk, William and Emma are waiting for you. "

"Alright..." Ava murmurs in a sad tone before she starts going inside the castle, I'm sorry for her but her parents wanted her.

I conceal myself in the crowd to not get noticed, I decided to go for a walk to just pass some time and relax, not primarily talking with people.

Today the city is full of people, as I wander around in the sideways on the street I feel myself collide with something.

Thud

I step back brushing my forehead for the pain, "Ow!"

I rub it for some time before glancing at the one who caused me this sensation, it's a hooded figure almost tall as me, they are perhaps 5 centimeters taller than me, their hands were rubbing their face too and they fell on the ground.

I approach them and say, "Are you fine?" it looks at me before hearing some person shouting from an alley, "Get back here!" Three adults are running toward them, they looked like bandits, and they were armed with weapons.

The figure suddenly runs trying to escape from them, the bandits and the figure ended up in another alley that was on the left part of the street.

"Shit... I can't remain here." I start to run towards the bandits, enhancing my feet and making mana flow in the upper parts of my body to support the speed, it's not long before I close the distance.

The figure was tired and fell again at the end of the alley.

One of the bandits approaches them before saying, "We are going to make you pay off for all." He says that before smirking.

"What the fuck?!" One of the three bandits exclaims before getting knocked up by me throwing at him a fist in the jaw, I start to emit killing intent in the alley, applying pressure on them, their legs start to tremble, not resistant enough to it.

"F-fuck..." The one who was closer to the hooded figure says before staring at me, "Y-you are the one who is protected b-by the king and the queen!"

I stifle a laugh seeing how he just feared me, "Yeah, that's right." I create two spears of ice that are almost big as me.

"N-no! Please we are innocent!!" They say simultaneously.

I rise an eyebrow at them, "Then why are you following them?"

"I-it killed one of us!" One of them says not keeping his stare in my eyes.

"You're lying." I throw the lances at them, skewering their chests.

"Aughhh!" One of the bandits said before gurgling blood from their mouth, the other bandit continued not long after that.

As I turn my stare at the hooded figure I hear one of the bandits whisper in pain, "I'm sorry Sophia..." Before his body turns lifeless, thinking that they are all dead, I go towards the hooded figure for then to feel someone skewering my calf with some knife.

I glance hastily at the cause and see the bandit I knocked out still alive.

"You fucking bastard!" I shout at him before I start to condensate my hand with ice and press it on his face.

"H-hiccccc!" He starts to almost scream before becoming a statue of ice.

I fall on my butt and press the injury trying to stop it from bleeding.

Just as I move my stare to the hooded figure, I see some girl that could be around my age, her eyes a crimson red that is even redder than blood, her stare is almost like it's piercing me.

She stood up and hastily run towards the exit of the alley, I try to move but I feel my body motionless.

"W-wait!" I yell at her trying to stop her, she turns to me and stares into my eyes, almost as if memorizing me, not after long she moves her stare from me and escapes from all this mess.
