Chapter 20: Saviour

I press my hands trying to block the huge lost of blood caused by the wound in my right calf, I glance around seeing all the mess I made inside the alley, blood on the walls, and 3 carcasses surrounding me while the smell of iron fills my nose.

"Ah... Ahh..." I breathed trying to concentrate on my injured calf trying to think of a way to block the continued blood loss.

*Fucking bandits... How did I forget about the one below me? And this mess of carcasses that is here, what the elven people will think about me if they see me here? And how I should come back to the castle without being noticed by some guards and citizens? How they would react to a human killing people here, the killed people are not elven people, still, this could create a conflict between the realms. And they could find me...

"Nobles..." I murmur in my voice while I look at my wound, I shake my head trying to gather away thoughts like this before healing my wound.

*I could use ice to blook the wound.* 

I place my left hand on the wound and slowly freeze it, groaning in pain trying to support the burning sensation.

Now that I blocked the injury from losing blood, I stand up and enhance my legs with mana for feeling less of the injury.

"Mh... I should check if there are traces of my body here, even with a hair of mine they can identify me..."

*They can see whom it belongs to, thanks to analyzing it with mana, somehow it connects it to the culprit."

"That's right, they can know it was me thanks to the blood I lost." I place my hand on the pool of blood and open it wide before burning the blood.

I search some more in the area for other evidence of the massacre I have done.

"It seems like there is nothing of me here now." I glance at my clothes, covered in red, blood dripping down my black vest, the smell of metal covering my body and dominating the floral smell I had before this.

"I can't just go and tell that I hurt my calf by falling on some stairs or somewhere... Should I even go inside the city?

AVA'S ASHTON POV:

I enter the castle before looking back from the ajar entrance, seeing Lisa leaving the castle, I dash outside and hide behind a bush trying to not be seen by Lisa.

*Uff... Why did she leave without me?* I frown as I stare at her following her from behind.

Mom and dad will not be happy with me going out like this and ignoring that they wanted to see me and talk with me, but I just don't want Lisa going out alone like this, I want to stay with her and not have frequent lectures by my parents...

Lisa is not like them, after she saved me from those bandits that wanted to sell me, I looked at her as if she was my own princess, my deity... After I met her my life changed completely, my days were better, funnier, and not boring, but I still had to listen to the lectures from my parents.

Every day felt joyful with her, she is my only consolation in the day, training is not boring with her even if we just rest there in the garden for some time, I don't want to lose her.

If they kidnapped me, they can kidnap her too, even if she is the strongest among those that have her age she still can't beat some adults.

"Huh...? Why did she start running inside an alley?" I reach the alley and hide behind a wall of one of the passages inside the alley.

*Who is that hooded figure?* I glance around some more and see 3 bandits that are attacked by Lisa.

*W-what is she doing?!* I try to move but my body feels heavy as if something is keeping me chained.

"I-I can't do it..." I'm still afraid of bandits since that day...

*But I want to protect her!* I try with all my might to break free from this state before hearing two of the bandits shouting.

"P-Please do----- we didn --------" Only pieces of what he was saying could be heard from where I was standing and watching.

Lisa suddenly created two spears of ice from behind her, I watch surprised at how she is still fighting after the training and all, how can she handle that?

But... Is it enough to beat them? 

Just as I thought this I hear two cries from the bandits, seeing them with the lances skewering their chests.

Lisa is covered in a crimson red, the air around her feels unnatural even from here, it's... Distorted?
