Chapter 151: High-School Drama (5).

"--You are a scam, Shido! You know it. I know it. Now everyone here knows about it!" Hideo said as he pushed his finger against Shido's chest. Shido had his head a bit low than usual and Hideo took it as a sign that Shido was embarrassed so he further continued with the humiliation.

"The bodyguard that you brought here is actually your neighbor,  The driver is the guy who works at your 'restaurant business'... What the fuck are you trying to pull off here? Is this your disguise? Is this how you got Fuyumi to love you? Is this how you play with her heart? Tell me you fucker!" Hideo pushed Shido and then he grabbed him by his collar.

Shido just had his head a bit low. Meanwhile, Fuyumi was standing in the crowd with her eyes wide but she took no action as she was still registering what is happening right now. Her friend Hideo, who a few moments before was plauding Isao to organize the reunion, started to scold and humiliate Shido.

She couldn't understand what was happening nor did the readers.

[25 minutes before]

Shido stood alone amidst the four mutilated dead bodies, with the floor and the walls covered with their blood. The bodies were of the mercenaries who were preparing for an attack on the reunion and more importantly they wished to kidnap Fuyumi. Shido could've interrogated the mercenaries but the moment one of the mercenaries said he wanted to 'have fun' with Fuyumi, he felt as if he lost control of himself for a second and then the rest happened.

As he stood there with a stained coat and bloodied hands, a bright flash appeared behind Shido.

"You asked for me?" Caos asked.

"Clean up the mess. Make it seem like nothing happened here," said Shido before leaving the Inventory room.
"Yeah, Yeah. You make the mess and I clean up. Why don't you start calling me mother if I have to clean your ass this much?" muttered Caos.

"I heard that!" said Shido as he closed the door of Inventory room's door from outside.

[Men's Washroom]

Alone in the washroom, Shido stood before the sink. Even after getting rid of the blood on him by using {HESOYAM}*Rewind, he felt the need to wash his hands, so here he was cleaning himself up using the conventional means.

After washing his hands, he looked in the mirror and found that his hair was a bit messy. So using his hands, Shido started setting his hair. 

"Maintaining your looks, huh? Checking if your disguise is okay or not?"

Shido slowly raised his head and then turned around only to find Isao standing at the entrance of the washroom. 

"Disguise?" asked Shido as if he was completely oblivious of what Isao was talking about. But internally he was panicking hard. His disguise was blown off... Now the whole party will know that he is a noodle shop owner, not some rich dude.

"Oh, do you really want to play that?" Isao rolled his eyes.

"Play what?" Shido acted oblivious again.

Irritated by Shido's antics, Isao started walking toward him but he stopped when he was right in front of his face. "I know what you truly are Shido... Then what's the point in playing such a doofus game?"

"What I truly am? I don't know what you are talking about. So excuse me, I will be taking my leave," Shido directly cut short the conversation and moved away from Isao. 

As Shido reached the entrance of the washroom, "You really don't know, do you?... Night Slash."

This made Shido halt in his tracks.

"I will take that as a yes," said Isao as he turned to see Shido's back.

"You don't know what you are talking about, Isao. So it would be better if you shut up and enjoy the party," said Shido with a heavy and serious tone.

"You are not denying it though," said Isao in an aloof tone as he shrugged his shoulders.

Shido turned around to see Isao face-to-face, "You are out of your mind right now and making me something in your mind that I am not. So I would suggest again to enjoy the party."

"What? I'm making things in my mind... Really? Then let's look into some things first," Isao pulled out a tablet, "The voice of Night Slash sounds a bit morphed as he clearly uses a voice modifier... so after I passed the voice sample through demodifier, I get a new sample and when I play that sample and your voice sample side-by-side, what do we get?" Isao flipped his tablet's screen towards Shido. 

"Match: 94%" Isao moved toward Shido. "I know, you are going to say that the demodifier changed the sample according to my need and the evidence was biased from the start, okay, I get it... Then how about this?" 

A video started playing on the tablet screen. It was the security footage of the Inventory room. In the video, the mercenaries could be seen preparing for the attack. "I got a tip two weeks back that someone hired a few mercenaries to kill me, so I arranged this reunion party, and made it seem like I would be most vulnerable here. And they took the bait. I arranged things just to make sure they do their preparation in the Inventory room, so when they are at their vulnerable point, my guards would enter and kill them...

But then from some god-level coincidence, you decide to show up in the room. And~~" The video then shows Shido entering the room and soon massacring all the mercenaries. "Voila~ I got the prime evidence to prove that you are not a normal quirkless noodle shop owner."

"But that doesn't prove that I am Night Slash either," said Shido.

"Correct... I cannot prove to the world that you are Night Slash but I don't need any evidence to believe that, because I got something better than that."

"And what is it, if I may ask?"

Isao pointed to his broken arm, "This... This is the thing I need."

"A broken arm?"

"Yeah... It's all I need to remember what happened that day in LA."

"You were outside of the downtown area on that day and now you are calling me Night Slash who is responsible for your broken arm... I think you need to visit a clinical psychologist and also get a life," After hearing what Isao had to say, Shido concluded that it was all a scam and every single word that he just said had no ground to prove. So the only thing left to do was to delete the video from Isao's tablet and everything was going to be how it used to be.

"Oh no no no Shido... You believed in the lie I tell others? I was there. I was there at Downtown. I was there... where you two monsters were fighting... I was right there. Laws, Genesis & Valdis. I heard everything Shido... even that's where I heard your name for the first time." said Isao with a grim tone but he had a smile on his face.

Shido's eyes started glowing with an orange hue, "You don't know what you pushing yourself into... I would suggest you to stop now or the consequences won't be to your liking."

"Oh~ What are the consequences if I may ask?" said Isao with the same smile.

The very next moment, Isao's neck was in Shido's grip, "Don't you fear that I will kill you right here, right now, and then delete the evidence after I'm done with you?" said Shido as his eyes glowed even brighter.

On the tablet, a legal document was visible. Shido took the tablet from Isao's hand and read the content of the document while holding Isao with his other hand. As Shido went through the document his eyes started to widen.

Shido's grip on Isao's neck tightened, "Why are bringing her into this?!"

[Document Summary: If anything happens to Mr. Isao Nagamine, the sole responsible person for that will be Ms. Fuyumi Todoroki.]

"I gotta do what I got to do, Shido. And you asked do I fear you could kill me, right? I am shitting bricks right now! My whole back is drenched with cold sweat! Those glowing eyes of yours... I see my death in them!" said Isao with a maniac smile.

"Then why mess with me if you fear me so much?"

"Because I made a promise... a promise with a little girl. Promise to bring justice to her wrongdoer... Promise to kill the bastard who killed her mother... Promise to make that fucker go through ten times the pain she had to go through," finally Isao's smile broke and turned into a painful and grim expression. His eyes were red and a vein had popped out on his forehead.

"Who?! Who is the girl?"

"You are no hero, Shido. You don't save people... You just delay their suffering so that they could suffer from your hands. You are worse than the villains you've killed. And to let you know, you've met the girl.

Now if you still want to kill me, so that your girlfriend gets tangled into a national-level lawsuit and your kids go into foster homes, then you can kill me, or you can just remove your hand," said Isao.

Shido's grip loosened and Isao walked out of the washroom but before leaving he turned, "I know what I am doing may look bad to you... but you got to understand, Shido. You are not something that should live among mortals like us. Valdis was right. You're a god. You should just leave... It will be much better for you and us. You know... I don't want Fuyumi to go through more suffering. Her family issues are more than enough for her. I want to make you leave but I know you won't... that's why I won't force you."

Seeing the 'fake sympathy' towards him and Fuyumi, Shido got angered, "What about the promise? What about the pain, Isao?"

"The promise doesn't even matter. The one... with whom I made the promise... is dead. Then putting you through the pain would be vengeance... vengeance for something that you didn't even do to me... doesn't make sense, right?" said Isao with a neutral tone.

"Earlier I lost my calm in the heat of the moment. Whatever I showed you right now will stay confidential if you stay normal and don't do anything rash. Live like a normal person, Shido... and you may never see these countermeasures in front of you again."

"And what about the things you said? About putting me through pain... Killing me?"

Isao gave a small smile, "Whatever I said earlier were my true feelings. But I'm in no way capable of harming you in any way possible... That's why I had to go to such extents to even put my friend's name on a document stating she is responsible for my death."

"Be good, Shido, or else... even if I am very reluctant to do so, but I will have to use everything in my power to bring hell upon you," said Isao and left an enraged Shido alone in the washroom.

[5 minutes before]

"I thank Isao for single-handedly taking the initiative and organizing this great 5-year reunion of our batch and everyone to attend. It was really fun to meet you guys after so long," said Hideo who was on the podium with a mic in his hand.

"I am very happy that we got the chance to meet... Today we reconnected with each other; recollected the memories we once shared with each other, but this is not goodbye," Hideo then walked away from the podium but he still had the mic.

"And before ending this party, On everyone's behalf, I would like to congratulate Isao for finally becoming the CEO of Nagamine Enterprises. I wish you do well, bro... Nagamine Enterprises is really on some responsible and handsome shoulders," Hideo joked which earned some laughter from the crowd.

"Well, as we've come to the end of this night, I would like to introduce a very interesting personality to you all." Hideo pointed at the crowd, "Shido Kanzaki. A round of applause for him." As the crowd applauded for Shido, Hideo made his way toward him.

"Shido is our dear friend, Fuyumi's boyfriend... And. And. And. I don't know anything more than that. But one thing is for sure... he's definitely rich," Hideo then presented the mic to Shido. "So, Shido. Why don't you take the honor to introduce yourself to all present here?"

Isao who was in the manager's office, start to run toward the event hall. 

'What the fuck Hideo is thinking he is doing?! I've already sent Shido to an edge... If pushed further, we will meet the same fate as those mercenaries. I need to stop Hideo!' thought Isao as he dashed towards the event hall.

As Hideo presented the mic to Shido, he just stood still looking at the mic being presented to him. His gaze was constantly looking at the mic but in his mind, Isao's words were constantly reverberating.

Hideo who was playing by script smiled and then took out a piece of paper from his coat pocket, "Well Shido is not that interested in introducing himself... As the host, I will take up that responsibility and for the details, a little birdie gave me this info. So let's read it out.

Shido Kanzaki, Age- 24,  Quirkless, Owner of a noodle shop--" As Hideo kept reading Shido's details, the crowd was getting erratic. The person that they met today and what he truly is are two polar opposites.

"What? What is this info? I can't believe it... How come Shido, Fuyumi's Boyfriend, is a quirkless, noodle shop owner? Shido is it true?" Hideo acted as if he didn't knew anything before this and everything happening right now is a shock to him.

"Shido tell us? Why are you not denying it, Shido?" 

'Never thought Hideo was such an actor...' thought Moe who was watching the whole show from the crowd. She is the main instigator and the scriptwriter of this end event that Hideo is playing.

"Since you're not denying it... That means--"
