The fact that the demon army isn't moving yet must mean Yui's their gang leader. If that's their current hierarchy, I just need to beat her up, and the rest of them will shit their pants.
"Hah. So you got roped into this world, too?" I ask.
Yui rubs her nunchuck against her cheek. "I'm glad I did! There's no shortage of strong things to fight. I can go wild and no one can tell me otherwise. With you here, things will be so much more exciting."
"That makes two of us," I say, recalling the last few good fights I've had.
It used to be miserable being at the top of the food chain. The only times people like me or Yui get to fight is if we conquer a large enough region to creep into someone else's territory. I'd only just got around to taking control of Chiba Prefecture, next would have been Saitama Prefecture— Yui's turf.
The goal would have been to seize the entire Kanto region, and ultimately face the Four Queens of Japan. The closest ones would have been the Asura of Kansai in the southwest or Dragon of Tohoku in the north. I still had a bone to pick with the both of them, but now I may never get that chance.
"I know that look," Yui's voice stirs me from my reverie. "It's the same look you always give when you think about Chika."
The moment she says that name, the arm holding Sacchan falters. Only just a bit. I tighten my grip on the bat.
It is a name Yui and I know too well. Our senpai from middle school who put us on the path we're on. Someone who taught us everything there was about being strong and independent, but betrayed us when she left for Kansai and became one of the Four Queens of Japan.
An impatient demon giant steps forward. "Humans talk too much."
"Hah…? The fuck do you think you're doing? Can't you see I'm having a nice lil reunion with an old pal? Get back in line you shit-eating pig." Yui's hand clenches tighter around her nunchuck, so tight her knuckles were turning white.
"I listen to the demon lord. Not you, puny girl."
The demon giant takes another step forward but a burst of wind kicks up out of nowhere. Everyone gasps at the sight of the electrocuted giant collapsing to the ground, its entire body charred black and sparking with energy.
Electricity surges across the chain and metal sticks of her nunchuck. Yui's whole body is alight with what I can only guess is magical energy. It looks like I'm not the only one with an upgrade.
Yui cocks her head back to the horde of demons now trembling in fear. "Anyone else?"
"Merciless as always," I say as a compliment.
She sticks her tongue out. "Not scared? As expected of my Micchi!"
I sense Loraine move forward and stick out a hand to stop her.
"That's not someone you can take," I warn Loraine. I notice her biting down on her lips, and a fire in her eyes.
"She called you her Micchi, but you belong to me." Loraine pouts. "I won't stand for that!"
"C-Calm down. Just let me take care of it, alright?"
Loraine puffs out her cheeks but stands back anyway. I glance back at Yui who is all ready to go.
"Kept you waiting," I remark.
"I'm only waiting for you to make the first move. Teehee~"
"Don't mind if I do!" I charge in, moving faster than I did before and smash the ground in front of her. The earth shatters, sending stone and dirt into the air.
Yui deflects the debris. She knocks the stones back my way, electrifying them as they hurl towards me. I block as many as I can, but the shocks are numbing my arms. Eventually, I can barely grip Sacchan.
"Yes, yes! Show me more of that pained expression I love so much!" Yui screams like she's having an orgasm.
As the debris comes crashing down around us, Yui dashes through to close the distance. I strike out my bat in time to block a powerful impact. It sends me skidding across the field.
She doesn't let up. A flurry of blows forces me on the defensive. An impact caves in my ribcage and sends me rolling on the ground. I spit out a mouthful of dirt, then notice a shadow growing below me.

"Don't let it be over yet, Micchi!"
I dive away as Yui craters the ground where I was just standing. The hit I took to my gut doesn't hurt at all. I thought for sure it cracked a rib or two. Mildred's enchantments are doing a lot more work than I thought.
Yui swings her nunchuck once and blows away all the dirt and dust from the air. The way she handles her weapon is faster than I can keep up with. Nothing like when I fought her back in Japan.
The electricity at her hands and feet… is that what's giving her a speed boost? At this rate, she's going to tire me out before I can even get a hit in. What I need is a change in strategy.
"Hmm? Giving up already?" Yui asks as I put Sacchan on the ground.
"Shut the fuck up and give me your best shot." I plant my feet firmly on the ground and fill my lungs with air.
Yui sucks in a quivering and excited breath. "You asked for it!"
She charges faster than I can keep track of. Her crazed smile is all I see as the nunchuck slams into my ribs. I hold strong, taking blow after blow. The metal bar of her nunchuck batters my head, my face, my chest, all over my body.
"Ora ora ora! What's wrong, Micchi? Where did all that fire go? You're going to submit to me at this rate! Ahahaha!" Her piercing laughter is just as annoying as I last remembered.
The attacks keep coming, until—
I catch the metal bar of her nunchuck under my armpit. "You're finished."
"What?!" She can't pull her weapon away.
"Looks like the lion—" I grab her wrist with one hand, and her shoulder with the other. "Became the hunted!"
I headbutt her as hard as I can. Yui loses grip on her nunchuck and falls backward, eyes rolled to the back of her head. Blood trickles down my forehead, but the pain is nothing while my adrenaline is still pumping.
"Micchi, two; Cunt-with-nunchuck, zero. My win." I pick up Sacchan and glance over my shoulders to the demon army behind me. "Who's next?"
***
The battle was a slaughter.
By slaughter I mean the demons didn't stand a chance.
After seeing their trump card Yui get knocked out with a single blow, many of them lost the guts to even stand and fight. Mildred's powerful enhancement magic kept most of us in top shape during the fight, Loraine and the other mages rained powerful spells onto the demon army's backline. Meanwhile, Kain and I, as well a small army of warrior-class guards only needed to keep the demons from getting too close to the gate.
The worst we got out of the skirmish are a couple of dismembered limbs, but the healers patched them right up. What remained of the demon army retreated back to the monolith and it sunk back into the ground.
As soon as we get back into the city, Kain sounds the alarm that it is safe to come out, and everyone jumps into celebration.
"That was one of the largest incursions we've faced yet. I'm glad you were here to help us, Lady Micchi." Kain shakes my hand.
We're both bloodied and bruised, but I've developed a newfound respect for him. I thought the prince was all talk, but he really held his own out there.
"Not one of my prettiest fights, but winning is all that matters in the end." I say, clasping his hand.
"What are we planning to do with her?" Loraine points to the unconscious Yui under my arm.
"Ah, this—" Yui snaps awake and jumps out of my grasp, somersaulting in the air and landing perfectly as though she isn't injured at all. The other two take an aggressive stance, but I know better. "Well, Yui. I beat you fair and square. You know what that means?"
Yui curls up, fists balled and trembling. She springs forward and tackles me. "Anneeeggoooo!! Hehe! Anego~"
Kain and Loraine stare at each other, baffled that we could be so friendly after beating the living shit out of each other.
