After their lives were no longer in danger, everyone returned to their respective homes and families.
Jun Zishu and Ren Nanying returned to the same place. Although they lived in different cities, Ren Nanying wanted to accompany Jun Zishu home first. Meanwhile, Jun Zishu readily agreed to Ren Nanying’s company.
Jun Zishu’s mother was glad to see her niece as well. After hugging Jun Zishu first to express her worry and joy, she let the two girls go and rest. Then, once the two were rested, the whole family sat together and had a meal.
Jun Zishu’s family lived in a coastal city located in an economically developed area, so the city was one of the first places to get rescued. After getting rescued, both Father Jun and Mother Jun had constantly worried about their daughter’s survival.
After dinner, Jun Zishu and Ren Nanying went upstairs to take a bath.
In reality, they had already bathed once and eaten some food before they returned home. Otherwise, they would’ve carried an unbearable stench back home. After all, they had gone without a proper shower for 19 days. They might not have minded the smell while struggling to stay alive. However, once they were out of danger, the smell was so bad that even they couldn’t tolerate it.
Standing in front of the bathroom entrance, Ren Nanying hesitated whether she should go in with Jun Zishu or not.
Jun Zishu was a little confused when she saw Ren Nanying standing idly by the door. After beckoning at the other party with her hand, she said, “Come on in.”
Ren Nanying’s heart fluttered in joy, and she hurriedly entered the bathroom and closed the door behind her.
After turning on the showerhead and setting the water to the right temperature, Jun Zishu stood under the showerhead and let the water flow from her head to her feet. Her long black hair was scattered behind her, but it clung to her back obediently after being drenched with water.
When Ren Nanying saw Jun Zishu’s delicate figure, she couldn’t help but blush to her ears.
Afterward, Ren Nanying helped Jun Zishu wash her hair, and Jun Zishu stood there enjoying her service.
“Do you remember what I said to you before?”
Jun Zishu’s clear voice rang out in the bathroom, causing Ren Nanying to pause. Then, Ren Nanying answered, “I do.”
Jun Zishu had previously said that once the dust had settled and everything was over, they would further deepen their interactions.
Suddenly, Jun Zishu turned around and whispered into Ren Nanying’s ear, saying, “I permit you to wash my body.”
—I permit you to wash my body. I also permit you to touch my body with impunity.
Ren Nanying’s eyes instantly reddened with desire upon hearing Jun Zishu’s generosity. She could also feel her phantom limb growing erect.
Noticing Ren Nanying’s reaction, Jun Zishu faintly smiled in indulgence as she leaned into Ren Nanying and embraced her. Then, she gently caressed Ren Nanying’s hair, her body shaking slightly at the physical contact.
Jun Zishu felt that she could no longer love anybody but “her,” the soul who had been chasing after her all this time. No matter what name or appearance this person took on, Jun Zishu knew that this person would always stop for her. From now on, she would, too, for this person.
Subsequently, the two began kissing and caressing each other under the shower.
However, when both of their bodies were ready to take the final step, Ren Nanying suddenly stopped.
With her waist leaned against the sink, Jun Zishu opened her eyes and looked at Ren Nanying in confusion.
Ren Nanying took a deep breath as she looked back at Jun Zishu. Then, after calming her racing heart, she said, “We can’t act so rashly. At the very least, we can’t do it here. I want to wait until our relationship is more stable…”
“How stable do you want it to be? Until we get married?”
Ren Nanying’s heart skipped a beat when she heard Jun Zishu’s words. However, she didn’t want Jun Zishu to have any regrets. She also didn’t want to take away Jun Zishu’s first time in the bathroom.
Jun Zishu chuckled, finding Ren Nanying’s hesitation very amusing.
However, Jun Zishu could also understand what was going through Ren Nanying’s mind. This person did not have any recollection of her past lives, so she must be thinking that their relationship had formed too suddenly.
It was a fact that their relationship was rushed. There wasn’t even a process where they pursued each other’s love. They simply got together after stating their respective feelings for each other. There wasn’t even any hesitation when they did so. Moreover, their relationship hadn’t experienced any trials or tribulations thus far. So, it was reasonable for Ren Nanying to worry.
“Don’t you worry; I won’t regret it,” Jun Zishu said, her eyes giving off a firm and sensible expression. “I believe that you won’t, either.”
“Of course. I won’t regret it even in death.”
Ren Nanying buried her face into the side of Jun Zishu’s neck. However, she was careful not to leave any marks.
To put it bluntly, Ren Nanying was afraid that Jun Zishu was simply treating their relationship as a doomsday romance game. She worried that once the apocalypse ended, so would their relationship. She also worried that should she take Jun Zishu’s first time, Jun Zishu would come to regret it and hate her for it in the future.
However, since Jun Zishu had already stated her feelings clearly, Ren Nanying no longer held back her desires. Immediately, she picked up Jun Zishu into a princess carry and brought her over to the bed, paying no heed that both of them were still soaking wet.
Ren Nanying’s actions were wild and daring. Jun Zishu initially let Ren Nanying do as she wished. Afterward, though, her fighting spirit was ignited, and she got on top of Ren Nanying. However, sometime later, Jun Zishu, panting for air, got put back in her place at the bottom.
“Did you forget that I trained as an athlete?”
Ren Nanying smiled mischievously as she reached into Jun Zishu’s depths with her fingers.
…
The two got a good night’s rest after their intense battle. When they left their room and got ready to head downstairs, Jun Zishu suddenly held Ren Nanying’s hand.
Ren Nanying was startled by this situation, and she couldn’t help but look at Jun Zishu in bewilderment.
“What? Don’t want to hold hands with me?”
“No, I’m just…afraid that Aunt Jun will suspect us.”
“Why are you worried about that? Our relationship is an open and honest one. I’ve never planned to hide our relationship. Don’t tell me you’re afraid?” Jun Zishu asked with a raised eyebrow.
Ren Nanying felt that she was becoming more and more infatuated with Jun Zishu. She especially liked Jun Zishu’s calm and self-assured personality. The girl behaved as if everything was under her control, and Ren Nanying couldn’t help but have the urge to hug her and kiss her.
When the two arrived downstairs, Mother Jun saw that they were holding hands. However, she didn’t think too much about it. After all, when two girls shared a good relationship, it was even normal for them to hug each other, let alone hold hands.
Post-disaster reconstruction was underway in various places.
However, there really wasn’t much reconstruction that needed to be done. After all, the zombies were only keen on targeting living humans; they had no interest in vandalizing inanimate objects. They might have caused some destruction in the process of chasing their prey, but the damage wasn’t extensive. Rather than inanimate buildings, what needed repairs more was the human spirit.
Even after the apocalypse, many people would still subconsciously stockpile food. Some people would also wear fearful expressions as they moved about on the street, the trauma the zombies inflicted on them still fresh in their minds.
However, as they said, time heals all wounds. Eventually, some people had grown bold enough that they could start talking about the apocalypse and their experiences during the apocalypse in normal conversation.
Meanwhile, the world after the apocalypse was still the same as before. Other than a significant reduction in the human population, nothing much had changed.
…
On the third day after Jun Zishu returned home, she received a call from Lin Ruoyan.
“Are you alright, Zishu?”
“I’m alive and well. I’m not missing any arms or legs, either.”
“It’s good that you’re fine as well,” Jun Zishu said.
“It’s all thanks to the shopping spree you took me on the day before the apocalypse. I managed to survive on the food I bought that day for quite some time.”
After Jun Zishu and Lin Ruoyan joked around a bit, they agreed to meet two days later.
Ren Nanying didn’t know much about Jun Zishu’s social circle, so she could only listen in silence.
…
Two days later, Jun Zishu brought Ren Nanying out to meet with Lin Ruoyan.
“This is?”
Although Lin Ruoyan was good friends with Jun Zishu, she wasn’t aware Jun Zishu had a cousin. She had also never met Ren Nanying before.
“My girlfriend,” Jun Zishu introduced.
Lin Ruoyan was a little stunned.
…
Jun Zishu never bothered hiding her intimacy with Ren Nanying at home, and some of their interactions had long since crossed the threshold of close friends.
When Mother Jun saw Jun Zishu leaning into Ren Nanying’s arms and Ren Nanying feeding Jun Zishu a slice of apple, she couldn’t help but find their behavior strange. Yet, she couldn’t put her finger on what was strange about their interaction.
Several days later, Mother Jun finally realized what was so strange about her daughter and her niece’s behavior.
No matter how good a relationship two friends shared, there was no way they would kiss, right?
Moreover, it wasn’t just a simple touch between lips. Mother Jun could see the interaction of tongues and the exchange of saliva very clearly.
Just when Mother Jun was about to voice her words of persuasion, Jun Zishu and Ren Nanying each said a sentence that immediately silenced her.
“She saved me when I was close to dying, Mom.”
“When a zombie caught my leg, she lured the zombies away to save me, Auntie.”
The two girls interlocked their fingers when they spoke, and Mother Jun could only sigh when she heard their words.
This disaster had changed the relationship of many people. Some friends had become enemies, and some enemies had become friends. Some also found love, and some realized how little their love was worth in the face of adversity.
For Lin Su, her desire to study was strengthened.
For Xu Qiu, she had set new goals for herself in sports.
For Liu Manman, she made a new friend in Liu Yingtong.
For Jiang Mubai, both his admirer and the person he admired had left him.
For Chen Beimo, he continued hanging out with Jiang Mubai. At the same time, he had also found love in his female childhood friend.
For Liu Yingtong, she found herself a bunch of new friends. It was especially so for the talkative Liu Manman.
For Ren Nanying, she found a person she could spend the rest of her life with.
For Jun Zishu, she completed her mission and was in the process of dating.
…
After society got back on track, students of all ages returned to school to study.
Unfortunately, the two traitors who caused Ren Nanying’s death in the original storyline did not die. They also came clinging to Ren Nanying again.
Jun Zishu made her disgust for the two traitors very obvious. However, instead of persuading Ren Nanying with reason, she simply said, “Don’t interact with them anymore.”
“Okay.”
Ren Nanying nodded without hesitation.
“Aren’t you going to ask why?”
“Everything my wife does must have a reason, so I’ll listen to my wife.”
Jun Zishu was very satisfied with Ren Nanying’s obedience.
…
“Lin Su, where’s your laundry detergent? Mine ran out!”
“Find it yourself! Don’t bother me! I’m busy memorizing my English terms!”
“Carry me through my Band 4!”
“Go to your Liu Yingtong! She’s a top scorer as well!”
“Uuu…”
“Shut up! Stop whining!”
“Where’s Qiu’er?”
“Food court.”

“Why didn’t you go with her?”
“She’s bringing takeout for me.”
“Where’s the goddess?”
“Why are you asking the obvious? Even my foot can tell that she’s out on a date with Cousin.”
