Yin and Yang called fully upon their laws and bathed the battlefield with their power. Only, their enemy had disappeared. They had nowhere to turn their strength. They couldn’t feel their enemies aura, and as they expanded their Spiritual Sense, they still couldn’t feel him. The two of them were both loaded weapons with nothing to shoot at. That is until their attention was caught by the Blacksilver Pawns rushing towards them.
Frustrated, Yang aimed an open palm towards the charging enemies and a focused beam of light shot forth, cleaving clean through the enemy heading his way. Like a scythe, the beam bisected three of the Blacksilver Pawns, separating their upper and lower bodies at the waist. The other three heading his way immediately spread out to prevent a single attack striking all of them again. Yang cursed and fired another bright beam, disabling another of his foes, but at that time the other two had closed the distance. Their powerful fists flew towards him, engaging him in a fierce confrontation.
To the side, Yin faced a similar circumstance. The six enemies heading her way spread out, and prevented her from defeating them all with a single attack. Or at least, that was their attempt. As they ran towards her, a line of dark spears shot out of the ground at a low angle, forming a wall of pikes for the charging enemy to run into. The two at the front of the pack were impaled upon the spears of darkness and almost instantly more spears shot up from different directions. Stabbing through the Blacksilver Pawn’s bodies, they lodged between the Blacksilver Pawns’s ribs, trapping them in place. The spears that had caught the creatures grew larger and lifted them up off the ground. Some of them snapped from the struggles of the Blacksilver Pawns, but once they’d been lifted into the air their strength was greatly reduced, having no ground to leverage against.
Yang was busy blasting the other six Blacksilver Pawns. Even split into two pieces, they were quick to pull themselves together, by the time Yang took down the last of them, the first was already back on its feet and charging towards him. The close quarters made it harder for him to attack, forcing him to spend half of his time dodging their swinging fists and legs. Eventually he noticed how effective Yin’s method was and he slowly made his way closer. Soon enough Yin had caught the rest of the Blacksilver Pawns onto skewers of darkness, suspending them above the ground. They fought back, breaking the dark spears with their bare hands, but they couldn’t break them faster than Yin could make them.
“You hold them, I’ll go after that snake!”
Yang was overbearing and with the Blacksilver Pawns no longer harassing him, he crouched down and then with a bright flash he shot into the air. In just an instant he’d shot a thousand yards into the air and held one hand straight up into the sky, pointing towards the sun. As if responding to his command, the sunlight grew even brighter, bathing the grasslands in light. The high intensity light also brought along heat and the grass started to smoke and dry. After only a few seconds of bright and focused light, there was the first ignition. Very quickly the whole field of grass was lit on fire, burning ferociously now that all the moisture had been removed.
In only a few minutes, the grass field had been utterly destroyed. Only, there was still no sign of their enemy. Angered, Yang continued his destructive actions, completely razing all of the vegetation in the area shielded by the Dragoon’s defensive formation. Only dirt, stones, ash, and a large fortress remained. He met back up with Yang and the two of them looked at each other in confusion. Where did the snake go?
That’s when they felt uneasy and they rushed back into the Fortress. Inside, they found about a dozen of their Disciples standing protectively in front of Zhang Tu facing off against all of their other Disciples. The four most powerful in solid colors were standing at the forefront and they looked quite upset at having to fight their own fellow Disciples. The others that were at their side were the second most powerful of their Disciples, each of them being someone that had received heavy nurturing.
One of the four strongest, the woman in white who had been battling earlier, spoke up. She quickly explained, “The other disciples froze in place for a few seconds and then they suddenly turned and started marching towards Zhang Tu. We’ve been holding them back, but we don’t want to hurt them so they keep pushing forward.”
Yin and Yang had abandoned the Blacksilver Pawns outside the Fortress, not caring that they would eventually escape again. Instead they were outraged that their enemy would go so far as to turn their own Disciples against them. The Disciples wearing half-black and half-white uniforms continually rushed towards Zhang Tu. They fought with their full force and cared only about killing Zhang Tu. They weren’t able to be distracted or lured away by the other Disciples that were free of control, instead having a focused determination to their new goal.
Yin and Yang didn’t waste any time, quickly knocking out their own Disciples very carefully to remove them from the battle. Their control over their own strength was great enough to knock out the Disciples without worrying about injuring them.
Sage had used the Ancestral Technique, Cerulean Cloud to hide himself from Spiritual Sense. With the help of his color changing scales and Cosmic Traction he slipped onto the Fortress walls and Hypnotized all the weaker members of the Black White Army. Any of the enemies that were rank 3 or lower became his puppets as long as they looked his way. He could also implant hypnotic suggestions in those at rank 4, but he didn’t have time for that. Instead just taking control of all the weaker Disciples and sending them ceaselessly towards Zhang Tu.
When the Yin Yang Twins were going into the Fortress, Sage was returning back to the battlefield. There, he truly revealed his power, preparing the battlefield for the enemy that were likely infuriated and thinking him little more than a huge annoyance. The twelve Blacksilver Pawns turned into a liquid form, freeing them from their trapped state. The mass of black oil and cloudy mercury flowed to a single place, swirling and combining into one large mound. At the same time, the huge cobra opened its mouth and released a huge amount of white vapor. It looked like thick fog, or steam just before it dissipated into the atmosphere. It was just like the wisps that had been hidden among the black cloud of smoke earlier. Like an unending tide, the mist continued pouring out of the giant snake’s mouth and rapidly flooding the now scorched clean battlefield.
