Yes!
The word echoed. In all senses, it seemed to be the call of judgment.

Calculating Worth…
Glitch ‘Blood Devour’ is now awakened for 30 minutes in this World
]
The heat overshadowed the stench. Kai’s figure rippled in the darkness, scaring away the shadows. There was a madness about him, and the full brunt of this madness fell on Grim. His mouth gaped in sheer awe and fear, and he backed away, uncaring of the filth under him.
The Pokemon had fared no better. It had sensed too. Kai’s all emotions came pouring out along with the scalding hotness about him.
Desire!
Hunger!
Rage and greed!
“Blood Devour!” Kai hissed, his hand lunging at the beast.
“Koffinggg!” the pokemon cried, half mad and half terrified. It backed away, releasing a tremendous amount of mustard-color poisonous gas. It was fast.
Kai was faster.
There was a difference between levitation and flying. Kai exploited that difference, wrapping his entire body around the pokemon in a single high jump.
“Koffi…”
“What are you doing?!” Grim roared, standing, slipping, and falling. One twist of Kai’s head towards Grim shut the man up. The pokemon roared. It banged itself against the walls, trying to shake Kai off. It was all in vain, though.
It was the wrap of death. Kai had forgotten the count of people he had killed just by squeezing the air out of them like this. Suddenly, the pokemon expanded. It kept expanding like a maniac. Kai sensed the danger too. It’s going to explode, he thought, a sudden urgency taking over his heart. It’s self-destructing!
The crack on his chest couldn’t be any more timely. Kai felt it again. The raw thirst for blood. Hunger at its purest form. Gluttony!
“KOFFINGGGGG…”
The beast let out a soul-shaking cry. Kai felt the gases inside its thin skin roiling, causing a chain reaction. And then it became a bloody paste. The thing inside Kai’s chest crushed the magical beast, turning it into nothing but an essence.
Blood Essence!
Kai landed, drunk with power. There were still burn marks on his skin, and his HP was still regenerating. It hit its maximum value with an unseen, unheard, loud collision. Kai would have already appreciated it. But this Blood Essence went beyond that. His MP was regenerating too. It wasn’t as fast as his HP, but still faster than its usual pace.
“Hah!” Kai moaned in pleasure. His entire body felt freshened, all hidden injuries melting away. A white-colored skull and cross-bones tattoo appeared on his chin. His upper canines extended into two thick, long fangs. Dozens of geyser-shaped open protrusions appeared all over his face, and a light trail of gas could be seen coming out of them like the smoke trail over an extinguished candle.
And when he opened his eyes, they seemed vacant. Dead!

Kai took a breath. Deep, feeling his lungs with all the stench of shit, piss, and garbage he could. Deep. Deeper!

Then he breathed out.
Kai felt full. He had eaten a small meal before, but this one deep breath was enough to vanish a part of that hunger within him. So he breathed more. On and on, puffs after puffs, each longer than the last, he kept breathing in and out.
[Elementary Filth Manipulation: Proficiency 1% (+1%)]
For a moment, Kai even wanted to reach down and eat the filth too.
Just as that thought crossed his mind, Kai trembled, shaking his trance-like state off. His abnormal appearance receded as if it was just an illusion. The skull and bones tattoo disappeared, followed by the gas and protrusions. At last, his eyes gained life, looking exuberant.
Excellent! Kai thought, recalling those feelings. So this is the difference between the blood essences of magical beasts and non-magical beasts. The Abilities gained by devouring magical beasts are always in an activated state and have no Time Limits. Like the Abilities of Contestants.
As if followed by an instinct, Kai put his hand over his chest and rubbed it. He could feel it, something within him, churning unto itself, ever-hungry and ready to devour all and anything. Kai remembered another thing that had given him such a feeling. Such endless, unquenchable thirst!
Yes, he had loved that thing as much as he had loathed it.
The Heaven Defying Beast Essence!
But it can’t be that, Kai thought, rejecting the idea as soon as it surfaced. This is my Glitch. My Individuality! My imprint on the Vast Cosmos! The one that was, is and will be, forever and beyond. It’s Blood Devour! There are similarities, yes. But one is earth, another heaven. Kai, of all, knew what the thing his parents had made was. That wasn’t some random blood essence devourer. That was much more complex, and there were aspects to it which even his parents had failed to find out.
If his Glitch was a seed, then the Heaven Defying Beast Essence was an entire world.
Then his eyes found more Notifications.

Kai approached Grim.
The man was gobsmacked. He had lost his Pokemon, and that alone should have been enough to make him angry or even sad. Yet, there was only awe and horror on his face. There must be other emotions too, more terrifying than horror, but the darkness within the sewers kept Kai from seeing them.
“Take out all your Items,” Kai commanded. Grim followed.
There was only a mass-produced dagger in his Inventory other than the Pokeball. Then he took an enormous wooden box out of his M.R.B. full of miscellaneous rations. Toothbrush. Food and toilet papers. A few antidotes, masks, and…
“Condoms?!” Kai amusingly asked, raising an eyebrow. Grim was too scared to answer, his hands shaking as he emptied the box. With a flick, Kai took out his saber. He smashed it on the dagger two times and broke it. Kai had learned his lesson last time. He would never trust his Luck again, not for the Loot.
“Mercy, oh…” Grim muttered. But his death was inevitable. To hear him plead and wait any longer would have meant toying with his prey, Kai knew. And he scarcely enjoyed that feeling. So, in three slashes, he beheaded Grim too.
[You have killed 1 Order’s Contestant]
There was no treasure chest hologram. No option to choose remuneration. Kai had made sure Grim had died with only one Item. His loot…
The Pokeball!
AN: The Skills mentioned in Blood Essence's Stats will be elaborated before their first use (which will be very soon). I don't see any point in filling the chapter with random info dump.
