[ Black Lotus Cult - Demon Prison Cave ]

[ Trail of Kodoku ]

" You shits, I don't care about any of you but I have been assigned to transform you subhuman shits that are worse than trash into cultivators who will walk the path of a cultivator."

Yue Fei's introduction caused whispers to echo throughout the crowd.

Yue Fei stood tall and imposing, his blonde hair swaying in the wind and his eyes gleaming with a fierce intensity. He was dressed in black and red robes adorned with intricate gold embroidery, and a black and gold sash cinched at his waist. On his back, he carried a sword that was as tall as he was. The sword was made of a dark metal that seemed to absorb light, and the hilt was adorned with a black lotus flower, the symbol of the Black Lotus Cult.

Chen Jiao had a look of fear on her face as she raised her hand to speak," Master Fei, what exactly does it mean to be a cultivator ?"

She was met with a slap from Yue Fei that sent her tumbling to the ground.

" Did I give you permission to speak ?"

Yue Fei asked before embedding his fist into Xie Dongyi's stomach causing the androgynous boy to crouch down in pain with tears streaming down his face.

" The next time you want to feel anger towards someone. Don't make it so obvious." Yue Fei said with a smirk causing absolute silence to form in the crowd meanwhile Min Lee started to shake Yue Fei exclaimed," While I speak, I don't want to hear any of your questions! Am I clear ?!"

Everyone nodded at Yue Fei's orders as he continued.

" Well, let's start with the beginning. What is the Dao? "

Yue Fei continued, "The Dao is the way to absorb the manifestation of power that exists throughout the Heavens and Earth and binds the very nature of our world together. Think of it as the force that binds everything.

It manifests in the form of Spiritual Qi that permeates through everything. Some call it the blood of the Heavens, but there are many schools of thought on it all around the Murim. People who can perceive the true nature of the Heavens and have the ability to absorb the power of heaven and earth into their bodies in the form of spiritual Qi are known as cultivators."

With a sudden movement, Yue Fei unsheathed his sword and turned towards a giant rock near them. "Watch closely," he said as he moved his blade, which seemed to cut through the air with a sharp, slicing sound. His eyes glowed as he breathed out and twisted his hips and hands, creating a crescent of yellow aura that seemed to tear apart the land itself.

I like many others, wondered if what we saw was indeed Spiritual Qi. As I saw the wind pressure of Yue Fei's swing, I couldn't help but be a little blown back. Many exclaimed as they saw Yue Fei cleanly slice the rock formation in half.

Sheathing his blade back, Yue Fei turned to the shell-shocked crowd. "This is Spiritual Qi," he said, his voice echoing through the cavern. His words caused whispers to break out in the crowd. "What? How?"

 "Did you see that?"

"...."

Ignoring the looks of awe, Yue Fei crashed his foot into the ground while shouting out. "Think of Spiritual Qi as an invisible energy that permeates throughout the Heavens and Earth but if you pieces of shits want to utilize this power, you need to build up your foundation," Pausing a little for a dramatic effect Yue Fei continued," But for a foundation to be set up, you need to be able to physical endure the burden. So until I say 'stop-start running laps," Yue Fei's eyes glowed as he said," Right fucking now."

As the children completed the task, Yue Fei's eyes scanned the group, looking for those who had the potential to walk the path of cultivation. He could see the determination and willpower in the eyes of a small handful of children who had not given up, and he was pleased.

"Stop! Hmm, looks like some of you have the potential to walk the path of cultivation," Yue Fei exclaimed as he looked at the small handful of children who didn't give up. "And as for you," he turned to the children who had given up, "there will be a similar test tomorrow, if you don't show me your will to even run this tract then don't bother walking the path of a cultivator."

His words caused many to look down, while some gritted their teeth. They had survived that hell. What right did this man have to tell them that they didn't deserve to walk the path of being a cultivator? But deep down, they knew that Yue Fei's words were true. If they couldn't even handle this small test, how could they possibly handle the trials of the World of Murim?

As the children dispersed, Xu Wen'an handed me a towel as I cleaned myself. "Master, do you want me to help you up?" she asked as he and a few others had been running for hours on end. "No, I can help myself up. I am going to take a stroll in the forest to clear my head," I said while Xu Wen'an smiled and said, "Don't worry master, you were able to do better than the rest even if you were the slowest of the top."

"You know that doesn't cheer me up a lot," I answered back with a chuckle, causing Xu Wen'an to get flustered. "Don't worry, I am not upset. I just want to enjoy a little peace," I said while turning towards the bamboo forest.

Ever since I heard Xu Wen'an's words about Alexander's amulet being a key, I couldn't help but think of a room or something the key could lead to. But the question remained, where could such a place exist in this small prison out of the prying eyes of everyone? It wasn't in the buildings, so what other place could it be? The bamboo forest?

As I walked into the bamboo forest, the sound of rustling leaves and swaying bamboo stalks surrounded me. The forest was dense, and it was easy to get lost but I walked deeper into the forest, my eyes scanning the area for any signs of a hidden room or doorway. The sound of my footsteps was muffled by the thick layer of moss and fallen leaves that covered the ground. The air was thick with the smell of damp earth and the distant sound of water flowing through a nearby stream.
