[ POV Change ]
Walking through the Bamboo forest, I couldn't help but gulp as I saw Bamboo twisted into looking like human hands.
Continuing to walk, I tried to find some kind of clue.
If Alexander did hide something in this forest then there should be some kind of clue to indicate a specific direction or maybe he was just wasting his time in this place.
After all, Alexander stayed in this place 500 years ago. Who knows if the clues had been lost to the annals of time?
Suddenly feeling something moving against my skin, I immediately took out the jade amulet that was shaking vigorously.
Turning it back to my previous path, the shaking lessened before turning it back and the shaking resumed.
With a smile on my face, I began to follow the amulet's directions while also marking my path by embedding a stone into the bamboo.
....
( ~ Whoosh ~ )
A cold chill went down my spine as I continued to walk toward the direction the amulet provided via its shaking.
Suddenly as if it had sprung to life, the amulet pointed forward while controlled by some kind of force.
Stopping at the stomp of a giant bamboo tree, the amulet glowed as the words etched into it began to distort into symbols.
Like a mirage, the stomp disappeared revealing a staircase while the amulet seemed to have lost its vigor.
Pulling the amulet up, I said," Brother, does your vigor amount to just this much ?"
Following down the dark staircase, I couldn't help but open my mouth in shock as I found a room filled with saw-glass vials containing small animals, plants, and equipment that I had never seen.
Stopping to look at the vial filled with green liquid that seemed to have preserved a snake similar to the one I kept inside the prison.
Glancing at the shelf filled with a multitude of books. I grabbed a book that seemed to resemble a diary.
As I touched Alexander's diary, my heart began to race.
[ I had lost my father at a young age around the time when my bold little sister and I were maturing. My mother told me to become a shaman along with a warning that if I didn't become one then dire consequences will befall me. Following that my mother began to force her weird religion onto me. She would have me recite poems, and verses and perform rituals however I began to hate my mother for it, and in rebellion, I focused all my efforts on my studies. A few decades passed like that and around the time I had finished my ph.D in biochemistry, I died in a traffic accident. At that moment I thought this was the dire consequence I will be befallen. Unfortunately or fortunately I had reincarnated into the body of someone who had died in the black lotus cult ]
Reading Alexander's diary, a chill went down my spine as I began to read further and further.

Night had fallen upon the bamboo forest as I slowly moved through it.
My mind repeated a sentence from Alexander's journal that shook me to my core.
[ This place isn't designed to be a training ground rather this place is a poison jar where children are trained to fight each other to the death to create a weapon that is a cut above the rest and capable of manifesting Demonic Qi. ]
My peaceful walk was suddenly broken as a mountain of aura crashed upon me bringing me to my knees.
I tried to get up but the aura was so dangerous that my own body had given up resistance.
Gazing upon the small water droplets on the ground, I saw the distorted image of a creature covered in shadows with the giant horns of a buck while only having one eye.
A sense of dread filled my heart.
Was I going to die?
" What are you doing here ?" A voice called out to me as the pressure immediately went away.
Looking up, I only saw the tops of the bamboo forest and no monster.
" I asked you, what are you doing here ?!" Turning to the voice I saw Yue Fei standing over me with his eyes narrowed.
" I, I fell asleep while taking a stroll."
" Is that right ?"
I nodded back vigorously.
" Aren't you that kid who was the first one to crash onto the ground when I said stop ?"
" Yes, Sir."
" Hmm, just go back."

" Yes Sir .... can I ask you a question?"
" What is it ?"
" How many blonde hairs have you counted on your ass?"
The ridiculous question left Yue Fei dumbfounded for a second.
" Are you talking to me? You are talking to me !"
Yue Fei shouted causing the boy to immediately bow in an apology.
" Leave now before I change my mind about beating you."
The boy nodded and left in a hurry.
Seeing the boy's back, Yue Fei took a deep breath and asked," Kunlan, you want to explain why you did that ?"
Yue Fei's words caused the darkness of the forest to part revealing a mammalian creature that had an extremely big body while the creature wore a conical mask with the ropes of the mask decorated by crimson masks.
The creature's body was covered in silver fur.
" Oh, did that make you mad ?" The creature said as picked up the leaf from his head which glowed with intricate patterns.
As a decapitated human head launched out of the pattern.
If any of the victims of the prison were present at this moment, they would recognize the head as it belonged to the only child that wanted to leave the path of cultivation.
Eating the entire head in one bite, Kunlan chuckled at Yue Fei's disgusted look.
" Oh, don't give me that look. I am just eating, if you want to be so judgemental, you should see the look that demon beasts give humans who feast on their flesh. It's just an order of nature" Kunlan said before giving Yue Fei, a spirit bag filled with chrysotile which was crystals made up of Spiritual Qi.
" The Black Lotus cult delivered over a thousand corpses of mortals with spiritual veins and we get only this much in exchange." Yue Fei questioned.
" What can I say? The Black Lotus Cult's offer isn't anything special with the rise of other sects." Kunlan answered back causing Yue Fei's aura to rise but Kunlan wasn't fazed a bit as he tapped Yue Fei's shoulder.
" Brother Fei, why are you so harsh on me? I am not the one who decided the rules, it was the Fairy King."
" Huff, calling you people fairies is just a mockery."
" Awe, my feelings are so hurt being compared to those tiny bugs you call fairies, kekeke." Kunlan laughed as he clasped Yue Fei's shoulder as he said in an extremely serious voice," But you know that the Rotancito tribe hates the fairy tribe and I am warning you this time brat, I may have known you for decades but that doesn't mean I won't hesitate to kill you if you act up again. Am, I, clear ?"
Gritting his teeth, Yue Fei answered," Crystal."
" Good; I see that you have finally learned humility after losing everything, huh? To think there was a time when you had the potential to break through to the Soul Altar realm. "

Yue Fei didn't let Kunlan's mockery get to him. He was used to being mocked by everyone.
" Looks like the heavens have smiled upon you, you trash," Kunlan said with an eerie chuckle causing Yue Fei to be taken aback.
" Looks like you humans are as stupid as you look. You didn't even realize that Brat played you."
" Huh ?"
"Stupidity is engrained into your blood. That brat just now read you like a book by establishing your boundaries with a joke."
" I don't get it."
" Of course, you don't, I see a virgin when I see one. But for your tiny mind to comprehend it, that brat made a harmless joke to see your reaction which established a line in his mind that he now knows when or not to cross to make you his enemy." Kunlan explained the boy's quick scheme causing Yue Fei to look back in shock.
" I am willing to bet that brat is going to pass the great cleansing," Kunlan answered before turning to leave.
Yue Fei looked at the boy who had met up with Xu Wen'an.
Interesting!
Meanwhile, in the back, Kunlan glanced at the boy and particularly the amulet that he had on him.
' Hmm, to think I would see the first item I sold to that silver-tongued bastard after all so many decades. Should I give this bastard, Alexander's tab? Hmmm ' Kunlan thought before disappearing into the darkness
