[ Black Lotus Cult - Demon Prison Cave ]

[ Trail of Kodoku ]

The dimly lit room was filled with an eerie silence as I stood before the massive figure of Kunlan. He was a being unlike any I had ever seen before. .

"How do I pay back the debt?" I asked with a gulp as Kunlan's fur spiked up, and saliva began to drip down from his conical mask.

"10 Chrysotiles," Kunlan exclaimed, causing me to frown. "What the hell was a Chrysotile?" I thought to myself as if he could sense my confusion, Kunlan exclaimed.

"You ignorant insect," he said with a hint of disgust in his voice. "A Chrysotile is an unrefined mineral that contains spiritual Qi."

"My furry friend," I said, "You can see that there are no mines here. How could I get a Chrysotile?"

"Fair enough," Kunlan said as saliva dripped onto my bed, eroding through the sheets causing my eyes to widen. "You could do what Alexander did."

"What did he do?" I asked, my mind racing with possibilities.

"He exchanged corpses with me." Kunlan said simply as I felt my stomach drop.

My mind went blank as I heard Kunlan's views. "What?" I asked, unable to comprehend what I had just heard.

"Alexander murdered his fellow survivors and exchanged their bodies for his advantage." Kunlan explained as the reality of the situation hit me.

"Do you want me to do the same?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Yes." Kunlan simply answered while caressing my cheek as sweat dripped down from his mouth.

My mind raced to think of a solution. If I did kill them, then what actions would Yue Fei and the other caretakers make? Suddenly, seeing something from the corner of my eyes, an idea came to me.

"Kulan, do you want to make a bet with me?" I asked, trying to sound confident.

"Oh, what do you propose?" Kunlan asked, his interest piqued.

"How about this, if I can kill over 100 lives in the next few hours, Alexander's debt is repaid?" I suggested, trying to keep my voice steady.

Kunlan smiled, showing rows of sharp teeth as saliva dripped down from them. An oppressive aura crashed onto my shoulders as Kunlan exclaimed," And what if you fail?"

" ( ~Gulp~ ) Then you can have my life," I said, trying to hide the fear in my voice.

Kunlan let out a deep, guttural laugh, "Kekekekeeke, brat you get interesting the more I see you. How about we spice this bet? If you can do it then I will give you direct access to the Rotancito Tribe's Shop."

" (~ Gulp~ ) I accept but how can I be sure that you will keep your end of the bargain." I asked, trying to sound confident.

Kunlan thought for a moment before reaching to his head and plucking a leaf. It didn't look any special to my eyes, but as soon as it was in my hand, it lit up with a golden symbol.

"Here you go," Kunlan said. "That is my only access to the mirror world. Without it, I'm stuck in this plane of existence."

I nodded, understanding the importance of the leaf. "Start," Kunlan simply said, and with that, I was off on my mission.

The sun was shining brightly as I walked towards the large window in my room. The glass was cool to the touch as I slid it open, the movement smooth and effortless. The fresh air hit my face, and I couldn't help but take a deep breath in. The smell of freshly cut grass and blooming flowers filled my senses, making me feel alive.

As I stepped out into the garden, I felt the soft grass under my feet. The blades were still damp with dew, and I could feel the coolness seeping into my shoes. The garden was a vast expanse of green, with rows of flowers and bushes lining the paths. The colors were vibrant, and the petals looked like they were painted with the finest of brushes.

I walked down one of the paths, taking in the beauty of the garden. The sound of the birds singing in the background was soothing and as I walked, I saw a movement out of the corner of my eye.

"Why wasn't this brat hurrying up?" Kunlan thought. "Didn't he care for his life?"

Suddenly, Kunlan couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He watched as I captured a female grasshopper.

"Do you know that during the summer, a female grasshopper can lay up to 100 eggs?" I said with a sly grin as I killed the grasshopper.

Turning towards Kunlan, I exclaimed," With that, I have killed 100 lives."

Kulan was left dumbfounded as he realized what had just happened. He had been played by the boy. Realizing this, Kunlan couldn't help but let out a deep, guttural laugh, "Kekekekeeke!"

The sound of Kunlan's laughter filled the room.

As the children in the demon prison cave began to adjust to their new surroundings, a clear hierarchy began to form among them. The largest group was led by a girl named Chun Jiao. Her spiritual root was Supreme/Divine grade, it was impossible to miss it. She had a commanding presence, and her long black hair flowed like a river behind her.

The children who had followed Chun Jiao were the strongest among them, and they formed a tight-knit group. They were always seen together, and they had a fierce loyalty to Chun Jiao.

Behind them in terms of numerical strength was a group led by a child named Xiao Khan. He was a tall, lanky boy with a head full of wild, curly hair. He had a quick wit and a sharp tongue, and he was always ready with a clever retort. His spiritual root was not as remarkable as Chun Jiao's being a Heavenly/ High grade.

Meanwhile, the last place was a tie between a boy named Lu Wendong and another boy named Hu Chenxi. Lu Wendong was a short and stocky boy, with a round face and a constant scowl on his face. He had a strong spiritual root as High grade but it was not as remarkable as the other two leaders.

Hu Chenxi, on the other hand, was a skinny boy with a mop of unkempt hair. He had a High grade spiritual root, and he was always seen by himself. He was always dressed in a dirty white tunic and a pair of dirty brown pants.

Meanwhile, those with weaker spiritual roots began to be isolated by everyone.

As the days passed, the children in the demon prison cave began to form their own factions. They were all fiercely loyal to their respective leaders, and they all had their own agendas. The children who had weaker spiritual roots were always avoided by everyone, and they were always seen as trash.

"Who would want to associate with trash?" someone said, and the others nodded in agreement.
