Days seemed to slip away like grains of sand through the hourglass, becoming memories that would never return. I, along with the group of young cultivators, had fallen into a routine under the guidance of Yue Fei. Every morning began with a run through the cavern, followed by a few hours of rest and sustenance. Afterwards, we spent time focusing on our inner spiritual qi, sensing the flow of energy within and around us without the aid of our mantras. The afternoons were a time of leisure, a chance to do as we pleased.

One particular day, I sat in the bustling dining hall, surrounded by the sounds of clanging utensils and the scent of delicious food. I held a bowl of black egg soup, the broth thick and comforting. Children from various groups sat together, chatting and laughing with one another, their spirits lifted by the sense of camaraderie that filled the air.

As I was about to take a sip of my soup, a voice interrupted my solitude.

"May I sit here?" the voice called out, and I looked up to see Xie Dongyi standing before me. The bruises and scrapes on the boy's face indicated that he had been involved in some sort of altercation with the other groups. This was a common occurrence in this place, as the children's petty sense of superiority often resulted in physical altercations and bullying. However, I tried to stay out of their way, choosing instead to immerse myself in the knowledge contained within Alexander's journals.

"Enjoying your meal?" Xie Dongyi asked with a forced smile, and I gave a noncommittal, "Yeah." Suddenly, I felt someone's gaze upon us and I turned to see Chun Jiao staring at Xie Dongyi, her gaze shifting into a glare.

I smirked as I added my sarcastic remark, "Yeah, I can see who wears the pants in the relationship. Must be great getting pegged by her." But little did I know that Xie Dongyi, who was the subject of my comment, would take my words far too seriously.

"I said Chun Jiao and I aren't in that kind of relationship!" Xie Dongyi's shout echoed throughout the crowded hall, drawing the attention of everyone present.

Seeing this as an opportunity to get some brownie points with the current top dog of their group a brown-haired man named Ye Mo emerged from Chun Jiao's table, accompanied by a few others. His eyes were filled with anger as he strode towards Xie Dongyi and me, his voice bellowing, "What the hell did you say?!"

Ye Mo repeated his question, his voice echoing through the room, "What the hell did you say?" as he took a step closer to Xie Dongyi. The androgynous boy cowered in fear, taking a step back as his legs trembled underneath him, a clear indication of his intimidation towards Ye Mo's demeanor. But I was not one easily intimidated, not after the life I had lived on the streets. I could tell that this man was nothing more than a bark with no bite. I thought to myself, 'I could use this to my advantage.'

Before Ye Mo could continue his threatening approach, I cut him off. "We heard you the first time, no need to open that shit hole you call a mouth again and again. I have already lost my appetite because of your mouth's horrendous odor," I said, my voice filled with disdain.

My words only fueled Ye Mo's anger as he slammed his palm into the ground and threatened me in the most intimidating voice he could muster. "Care to repeat that?"

In the next instant, a scene occurred that left everyone in the hall shocked. Ye Mo let out a blood-curdling scream as I jammed my fork into his hand, quickly following up with an elbow to his nose, knocking him back.

Jumping up from my chair, I took advantage of Ye Mo's momentary daze and slammed into his body, causing him to fly backwards and crash into a table in the back of the hall. The table shattered into pieces, and Ye Mo lay motionless on the floor, unconscious.

I took this as my cue to leave, as I could feel the weight of the stares from the other children in the hall upon me. I knew that I had just made a powerful enemy, but I didn't care. This was my way of sending a warning to them that even though I had a low-grade spiritual root, it didn't mean I couldn't defend myself and protect those I cared about.

In the eyes of the children, the boy's behavior was far beyond their imagination. They couldn't understand why he would purposely antagonize the biggest group. Even then, no one dared to stop him. They felt like they would get beaten up by the boy if they dared to do something.

Chun Jiao and Lee Min watched as the nameless boy walked out of the dining hall. Chun Jiao couldn't help but wonder, "Why did he turn them all into enemies?" It seemed as though everyone in the room had received a strong message not to mess with the boy.

Lee Min spoke up, causing Chun Jiao to turn her gaze towards the white-haired beauty in surprise. "Even if they didn't turn into his enemies, I think he had already considered everyone here as his enemies anyway," Lee Min explained.

"What do you mean?" Chun Jiao asked, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Think about it," Lee Min continued. "When you asked him for a favor, he outright refused and insulted you. He isn't afraid of us, but his actions now have just cemented a fear in everyone."

Chun Jiao snorted as she disregarded the boy. "Oh, who cares? This momentum is going to come back to bite that talentless bastard."

"Maybe you're right," Lee Min replied.

The nameless boy had his own way of thinking. He believed that if they were all going to be his enemies, it didn't matter if they became his enemies a little earlier. This way, he would be able to examine the situation a little more clearly.

For now, he had to get back to Alexander's journals. These journals were his only hope of finding a way to survive in this place and he needed to focus on understanding the knowledge stored within them. He was determined to delve into the pages and unlock the secrets that could help him in his journey.
