Chapter 129: Everyone Has Different Intentions

As Lin Jin spoke, he invoked the coiled wire needle, pierced it into the babyface spider, and sealed up its blood flow. Madam Ghost Child decided to place her faith in this extraordinary curator because this seemed like her only strand of hope left to cling onto.

The curator was right. For the sake of keeping her heavily injured babyface spider alive, she turned to symbiosis to prolong her pet beast’s life. But since it was an expedient method, if they carried on this process, she might lose her life in less than a year.

With hope appearing just over the horizon, there was no reason for her to give up now.

Madam Ghost Child reached a hand toward her abdomen and severed the spirit vein connecting her with her pet beast. In an instant, her garments around her torso became soaked in blood, revealing a ghastly yet tragic sight.

However, right after the severance, it looked like Madam Ghost Child had just gained a new chance at life instead.

Lin Jin tossed her an evaluation report. Once she skimmed through, she immediately fell to her knees and thanked, “Thank you, Mr. Curator, for giving us another chance at life!”

“Is there anything else?” Lin Jin asked.

No one spoke.

Clearly, this was it.

Lin Jin contemplated briefly before saying, “I have something that I’d like you all to do.”

He Qing was the first to respond. “Just tell us what you need. If we can do it, we’ll definitely give it our all.”

In He Qing’s eyes, the curator was now the highest form of existence. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say he had become her idol. She even started thinking that the curator was the world’s number one expert.

Everyone else nodded in agreement.

The advantages they had received from the curator thus far were considered priceless. Even villainous experts like Black Crow and Madam Ghost Child had developed deep-rooted respect for the curator and were convinced by his capabilities. No one would beg to differ if someone made the claim that the curator possessed the greatest knowledge of pet beasts in this world. Hence, they were more than willing to serve him.

Lin Jin wrote a list and tossed it down.

“I require these materials. Whoever can bring these to me during the next visit, I will cleanse their pet beast’s veins once.”

Everyone’s eyes instantly lit up.

If the curator would personally cleanse their pet beast’s veins, that would certainly help with strengthening their companions greatly. This was an opportunity everyone wanted.

And so, they hovered around to see what the curator needed.

After all was said and done, planning to stay no longer, Lin Jin turned to leave through the metal door.

That list was passed around for all six visitors to read and record individually.

Madam Ghost Child didn’t leave immediately after but went over to He Qing instead.

The latter was startled.

“Little girl, don’t be afraid. I bear no ill-will,” Ghost Child said, “I would like to seek your guidance on something.”

“What is it? Let’s see if I can answer your question.” He Qing remained on edge.

Who could blame her? It was simply because Madam Ghost Child was just too frightening. She was talking to a villain who killed according to her whims and fancies, so it was no surprise that He Qing was still paranoid about her.

Ghost Child smiled and then asked softly, “Little girl, how much do you know about the curator?”

It seems she was trying to get some information on the curator.

At this, the tyrannosaurus geezer who was getting ready to leave froze in his tracks. He kept his ears open, ready to eavesdrop on their conversation. Even Ye Yuzhou turned curiously toward them.

They clearly wanted to know more as well. About the Visitation Hall and the curator.

Ghost Child was asking He Qing this because the latter was visitor number five. According to the sequence, He Qing should be the first to arrive at the Visitation Hall. For this reason, she should know most about the curator.

Being a member of the royal family, He Qing wasn’t exactly an easy target either. She knew that Ghost Child was plotting something.

“I only know as much as you guys. This place itself is one big mystery and no one knows about the curator’s identity. But one thing’s for sure. The curator is incredible and his level of cultivation is shocking. Besides this, there’s also one more thing I can confirm.” He Qing grinned. Despite her tender age, He Qing was able to hold her ground when facing experts like Madam Ghost Child and Ye Yuzhou.

“What can we be sure of?” Ghost Child inquired.

“The curator bears us no ill-will!” Having said that, He Qing waved and left through door number five.

Ghost Child went over to the seemingly normal wooden door, but it wouldn’t budge no matter how hard she tried to open it.

The next person to leave was Jiang Ziqi. He usually kept a low-profile and would constantly be overlooked by everyone else.

Black Crow was the third to leave. Now that he had the method to help his black falcon evolve, he couldn’t wait to try it out. Although the method was extremely difficult, he at least had a sense of direction now. Unlike previously when there wasn’t even a speck of possibility.

Madam Ghost Child glanced at Ye Yuzhou and smiled before leaving through door number nine.

Only Ye Yuzhou and the tyrannosaurus geezer were left in the hall.

A quick thought flashed through geezer’s mind and he went over to Ye Yuzhou before saluting him.

“If it hadn’t been for Brother Ye just now, I would have died in the hands of that wicked woman.” The old man was obviously referring to Madam Ghost Child.

Ye Yuzhou was equally unfond of people with sinful backgrounds like Madam Ghost Child.

“Now that we’re the only ones left, I’ll be honest and say I don’t trust that curator. That man possesses strange magic and I don’t think he’s a decent figure. There must be a scheme involved behind this,” the old man said with narrowed eyes.

Among the visitors, he was the only one who abstained from making any requests at all.

It was easy to figure out that he was repulsed by the Visitation Hall.

However, Ye Yuzhou replied, “This curator is indeed a mysterious entity, but his knowledge is a rare gem in this world. Seeing how he could easily oppress all of our pet beasts on his own, proves just how unassailable he is. If he did possess malicious intent, I’m afraid none of us here would have survived up until this point. That being the case, I think it’s best if we don’t jump to conclusions yet.”

This was the most polite answer he could give. Ye Yuzhou clearly didn’t agree with the tyrannosaurus geezer’s viewpoint.

The latter understood what he was trying to communicate as well so he responded with a sheepish smile. “Brother Ye is a decent man, but precautions must be taken. I refuse to believe that something so convenient exists in this world. How could the curator be so nice as to offer us something as priceless as a pet beast’s evolution method? There must be something fishy going on and I hope that Brother Ye can keep your eyes peeled. Be mindful and don’t let yourself be tricked by evildoers.”

Having said that, he held up his hands in salutation before leaving the hall.

Ye Yuzhou looked around the hall, then at the evaluation report in his hand before opening door number ten.

Inside his study, Yang Jie was searching for him frantically.

Earlier, halfway through their lecture on the essence of certain spells, Ye Yuzhou suddenly got up and left. And after that, he was nowhere to be found.

Yang Jie waited at first. But when Ye Yuzhou didn’t return after a long while, Yang Jie began searching for him. Yet, after looking around, he couldn’t find his master in this study at all.

It wasn’t just his master that was gone, but Ye Yuzhou’s pet beast was nowhere to be found as well.

Yang Jie knew that Ye Yuzhou’s pet beast constantly remained in the pond below his master’s study. If nothing unusual happened, this pet beast would never leave his designated spot.

Just as Yang Jie thought about searching outside, a portal appeared out of nowhere on the surface of the pond and Ye Yuzhou appeared together with his soaring cloud flood dragon.

“Teacher!” Yang Jie exclaimed in surprise and hurried forward.

Ye Yuzhou held up a hand to stop Yang Jie from asking any questions. He turned to his soaring cloud flood dragon and said, “Rest up in the pond for now.”

The soaring cloud flood dragon immediately dived underwater.

Then, Ye Yuzhou said to his disciple, “Yang Jie, come with me.”
