Chapter 130: A Fox Demon Leads The Way

From Ye Yuzhou’s solemn expression, Yang Jie noticed a hint of delight in his eyes.

Something good must’ve happened.

Without asking more questions, he followed Ye Yuzhou back into the study at once.

“Yang Jie, I’ve stumbled into a fateful encounter today. I will be going into seclusion in a bit so don’t let anyone disturb me during this time.” Ye Yuzhou couldn’t wait to try out the evolution method he received from the curator.

If it truly worked, he would sacrifice anything to help his soaring cloud flood dragon evolve.

This undoubtedly became Ye Yuzhou’s priority. Nothing else came close in comparison.

Yang Jie was obviously reluctant to see Ye Yuzhou go into seclusion. If he did, who was going to teach Yang Jie?

And yet, Ye Yuzhou’s following statement simply made Yang Jie ecstatic.

“This fateful encounter is beneficial to you too. Seven days later, let me have one of your pet beast’s feathers. If all goes well, I might be able to get an evolution method for your pet beast.”

When Lin Jin retired from the Visitation Hall, he noticed something was off in the yard.

Xiao Huo was growling at a wall while Goldy stood aside with a dangerous glint in his eyes.

Even the shadow wolf came out of his pen to stand guard at the door.

They were all in battle stances, ready to pounce at the enemy at any given moment.

Lin Jin followed their gazes to see a fox perched gracefully on a wall in his yard.

It was the fox demon that rescued a human this afternoon.

Upon seeing Lin Jin, delight appeared in the fox demon’s eyes and it did a mini hop on the wall before leaping down the other side.

‘This is creepy!’

Lin Jin actually understood the fox demon’s gesture and gaze. He clearly wanted Lin Jin to follow him.

‘Should I go?’

Lin Jin made a swift decision.

Making the shadow wolf stay in the yard, Lin Jin carried Goldy with him before dashing out of the yard with Xiao Huo.

Up ahead, the fox demon was leading the way. Upon seeing Lin Jin follow him, he hopped again in excitement before running toward a certain direction.

This confirmed the suspicion that the fox actually wanted Lin Jin to follow him.

Soon, Lin Jin followed the fox demon out of the city.

Once out in the wilderness, there was no need for Lin Jin to conceal his strength anymore. He had Xiao Huo grow larger in size and then Lin Jin leaped onto his back, riding Xiao Huo as they hurried along.

The current length of Xiao Huo’s body was almost twenty feet. In this gigantic state, he could move at lightning speed. Lin Jin leaned forward, lying low on Xiao Huo’s back as his hands grabbed tufts of fur, trying to balance himself. As Xiao Huo moved, he could hear the wind howling in his ears.

A long while later, they entered a dense forest, and finally, they stopped to see the fox demon standing in a piece of empty ground.

Lin Jin patted Xiao Huo and his companion gradually slowed down.

Suddenly, the fox demon noticed someone coming not too far away. It let out a cry before dashing toward that person.

Lin Jin saw a silhouette approaching as well. After another careful look, his eyes lit up.

The silhouette belonged to a young woman. Donning a long dress, her figure was graceful and her features exquisite. She possessed such beauty that it could destroy cities.

Even Lu Xiaoyun paled slightly compared to her.

“Little Five, you ran off somewhere again!”

The girl actually wrapped her arms around the fox demon and lectured him.

The fox demon let out a few cries that sounded like grumpy protests to which the girl replied, “I know you’re just trying to save Little Nine. Alright now, we have a guest so I won’t argue with you anymore…”

Having said that, her charming gaze shifted to Lin Jin who was still riding on his wolf.

Any average person would obviously be frightened by Xiao Huo’s gigantic stature. However, not only was the girl unafraid, but she even stepped forward and bowed in salutation. “Sir, you are a benevolent man. We are indebted to you for rescuing Little Five. But before we even have the chance to repay you, I’m afraid we’ll have to trouble you again as we require your help in treating our Little Nine. Shang’er feels terrible for saying this, but our Little Nine is in a critical state. Please lend us your assistance again, Sir. Whether or not Little Nine can be saved, Shang’er will never forget your grace.”

Having said that, she bowed deeply.

Her manners were impeccable and her voice melodious. As for her face and figure, there was obviously nothing to be picky about.

Even so, there was one small problem. No matter how one saw it, for a divine beauty to suddenly appear in this wilderness and to not be fazed by the giant Xiao Huo, clearly reflected how unusual she was.

Not a dumb lad, Lin Jin could more or less guess who she was.

Despite feeling anxious, Lin Jin still remembered his manners. So, he jumped down from Xiao Huo’s back and said, “There’s no need to be so polite. Take me to this Little Nine you’re talking about.”

“This way please.” The girl named Shang’er immediately led the way. After a brief walk through the forest, they could see a cave up ahead.

Although it was a wild cave, the surroundings were clean and tidy without even a hint of a wild beast’s stench.

The cave’s interior was equally spotless. Once they were near, a few little guys ran out of the cave and Lin Jin could see it was a litter of foxes.

These foxes were overjoyed to see the young woman named Shang’er and they ran around her in circles, letting out tiny yelps. Shang’er seemed to understand them very well.

“I got it, I got it. We have a guest here so behave yourselves. Where is Little Nine?”

After Shang’er asked her question, the little foxes ran back into the cave. Lin Jin had Xiao Huo revert back to his normal size before they followed their hostess into the cave.

The cave wasn’t very deep. On a pile of hay inside laid a tiny little fox.

Just one glance at the little fox told Lin Jin it was gravely ill and barely breathing.

Upon seeing this, Lin Jin hurried over. The little foxes around stared at him curiously while opening up a path for him.

Lin Jin studied the creature before reaching out a hand to touch it.

‘It IS a fox demon!’

This was the third monster Lin Jin had recorded. It was only a Rank 1 fox demon but its condition was awful having contracted a disease after getting injured.

Still, this fox demon, Little Nine, was in luck. Now that Lin Jin was here, no matter what kind of incurable disease it had contracted, Lin Jin could make it all go away.

There was a wound on this little fox’s hind leg that was currently oozing with pus. Lin Jin studied it briefly before selecting a treatment method from the museum.

“I need some medicinal ingredients,” Lin Jin suddenly said.

Shang’er swiftly hurried over. “Let me know whatever you need. I know a bit about medicine.”

Lin Jin shook his head. “This is the wilderness. Even if there were medicinal ingredients, it’s not wise to pick them. Wait for me here, I’ll make a trip back to the city.”

Lin Jin headed outside as he spoke.

Shang’er easily shifted over to block Lin Jin’s path.

“Sir, Shang’er would like to come with you.”

Lin Jin smiled. He understood her intention, so he didn’t turn down her request. Together, they walked out of the cave. As time was of the essence, Lin Jin had Xiao Huo enlarge physically. He and Shang’er then got onto Xiao Huo’s back.

“Xiao Huo, let’s go!”

Xiao Huo sprinted forward at once. In his gigantic state, Xiao Huo’s moved like the wind. Even a distance of ten miles could be covered in several moments.

Shang’er sat behind Lin Jin in close proximity. Lin Jin could even smell an alluring fragrance from her.

During the bumpy ride, it was inevitable for them to collide with each other sometimes.

And when they first made physical contact, the Museum of Deadly Beast was immediately triggered.

When Lin Jin saw the museum’s prompt, his pupils abruptly dilated but he showed no signs of emotional disturbance outwardly.

They returned to Maple City in haste. By then, all medical halls were already closed but there were reserved materials in the Beast Appraisal Association that they could use.

Lin Jin headed for the association. After packing up some medicine, he got back onto Xiao Huo and took Shang’er along as they rushed back to the forest.

This return trip merely took half an hour.

Lin Jin briefly processed the medicinal ingredients. Then, using his needles, he sealed off the little fox’s blood flow before cutting away the necrotic flesh. Next, he unbarred the blood flow and put on some medicine.

Everything was done skillfully and with pin-point precision.

Once the bandaging was done, Lin Jin wiped the sweat on his forehead before turning to Shang’er who was watching the entire process unfold. “He’ll get better after a few days’ rest.”
