“Ignorant.” Big Joe of the North Ridge Duo looked dark while the shorter of the pair, Small Joe said, “Big Brother, these people don’t know their place. Let’s not mind them. What comes next will be what they’ve asked for.”
Upon hearing this, Big Joe nodded and said no more.
Both of them brought their pet beasts in and glanced around. They too hadn’t seen through Lin Jin’s Camouflage.
The brothers sat in another corner, becoming an opposing force against the Four Devils of Mount Kui.
Yet, comparatively speaking, while there were only two of them, the duo’s aura was much stronger. The four devils seemed the weaker force despite their advantage in numbers.
This was getting much more interesting.
Lin Jin opened his eyes faintly to look at the two newcomers before closing them slowly again.
With Lin Jin’s current beast appraisal skills, he no longer needed to rely on the museum too much. He could basically recognize the species and rank of average beasts.
The North Ridge Duo’s pet beasts were both Rank 3 so their strength was indeed above the four devils, but not that much. It was very limited.
None of them took action after arrival. They just waited and this proved that they knew something was up.
Basing on what he heard earlier, Lin Jin assumed that these people were also here for the Beastmaster Fourth Scroll. Meaning to say, this Beastmaster Fourth Scroll did indeed exist.
However, Lin Jin had genuinely never heard of it before. Rather than him being ignorant, the fact was that not many people knew about the Fourth Scroll.
And how did both groups know about it, Lin Jin had no idea.
Lin Jin mused, since both teams knew, there might be more people showing up later.
His prophecy came true.
Shortly after, there were noises outside. But this time, the sounds of footsteps were all over the place, and then a group of people showed up.
“Look, I was right. There is a huge deserted mansion here. Now we don’t have to ask the villagers nearby for a night’s stay,” a young voice spoke.
Then, someone else responded, “Brother Li is right. It’s such a rare opportunity that we get to study beast appraising at the royal capital’s headquarters. It’s said that the Beast Appraisal Headquarters in Jade Dragon City is a sacred place for beast appraisers and I’ve been wanting to go there. I can’t wait even a moment longer.”
“Big Brother Nian, you still have to wait one more day. Once we’ve rested up tonight, we should be able to arrive tomorrow night.” This time, it was a woman who spoke. She sounded very young too and mildly cheery.
Then, a group of seven people entered the yard.
Only, they never expected that there would be other people inside this abandoned mansion. Hence, the group was dumbstruck upon entry.
There were five guys and two girls. Their average age didn’t seem to exceed twenty years old and they were clearly rookies of society, still inexperienced.
The two groups of evildoers just didn’t seem like nice people so the group of seven became hesitant, not daring to step forward.
The North Ridge Duo and Four Devils of Mount Kui turned to the youngsters. These villainous experts had keen eyes and knew this group wasn’t like them. They didn’t come here for the Beastmaster Fourth Scroll and were probably travelers here to camp out for one night.
After all, travelers who had no idea tended to enter abandoned houses to stay the night.
Neither of the groups spoke and the youngsters were obviously the first to cave in.

“I see this place is already occupied. L-let’s not disturb them then. Come, come, let’s find somewhere else,” one of the youngsters who was quicker to react spoke up.
Lin Jin was also studying the group of seven. What surprised him was how his eyes met with one of them.
With just one look, Lin Jin was sure the other person could see him.
It was a young girl, dressed in average clothes and she had normal features. Only, her eyes were huge and bright. Lin Jin had noticed how she first glanced at the coffin and White Ape upon entry before looking at Lin Jin.
The others didn’t do so.
Clearly, this girl wasn’t average. She was at least gifted enough to be able to see through Lin Jin’s Camouflage.
The girl didn’t speak. After all, each and every person in this yard didn’t look normal. Instead, the only one who did, seemed out of place in this situation.
No doubt, this wasn’t a place they should consider staying. It was better to leave right now.
The people in the yard didn’t stop them. Even if two of the four devils were eyeing the two girls lustfully, their mission tonight was too important so they knew that now wasn’t the time to consider such atrocities. They rather keep the troubles to a minimum.
And so, the seven people retreated awkwardly.
“That’s strange. Why are there so many people in a deserted house in the wild?”
“I know, right? That scared me. Those two groups of people didn’t seem like good guys with their menacing faces. Brother Li is right, let’s not go in there if we can afford to.”
“Big Brother Nian, there were three groups in there, why did you say it was two? And the most frightening one wasn’t the two groups of crooks but the coffin in the far corner. I think I saw something move inside it just now.”
This simply startled the other six youngsters.
“Lil’ Qingzhu, don’t scare us like that. There were only two groups of people in there, not three. And there’s no coffin either,” the other girl of the group exclaimed, looking ghastly pale.
The young girl named Qingzhu widened her eyes and shook her head. “How could it be? I saw it right after I went inside. There was a huge coffin with a white ape next to it. Right, there was also a pretty crimson fox and a decent-looking mister.”
This was getting creepy.
The other six were pale as white sheets.
“Qingzhu, we really didn’t see any of that. S-say, do you think we we’re seeing ghosts?”
“Ghosts?”
The other six began to shudder.
Only three out of the six of them had pet beasts, but they were only average creatures. If anything did happen, the pet beasts probably wouldn’t be able to do much.
“We shouldn’t stay here. Let’s go.” Whether or not Qingzhu was telling the truth, it remained a fact that the place was ominous. So all seven of them had a common thought: leave.
Yet, a gust of wind suddenly swept past, sweeping up the dust and sands, disrupting their vision.
But this wind left as quickly as it came, disappearing into nothingness. Once the wind died down, a gorgeous woman appeared ahead.
The youngsters didn’t notice how this woman appeared, but for a scantily dressed female to appear this late at night with a smile on her face, it was creepy no matter how one saw it.
The young girl, Qingzhu, in particular, began to tremble all over as her eyes widened as if she noticed something terrifying.
The beautiful woman was thrilled to see the youngsters and hurried over. Among the group, the young man with the surname Li felt his eyebrow twitch and he swallowed hard. He immediately beckoned the group and opened the yard’s gates once more, leading them inside.
