It was a man and a woman, dressed similarly as Qiu Bin. The man was strikingly tall thanks to his unusually long limbs. While he held a scythe, the woman held a strange flute that seemed to be carved from bone. A black string was tied to the base of the flute, and skulls of different shapes and sizes dangled from it. Lin Jin couldn’t tell if they were skulls of beasts or humans.
It was obvious that they were Qiu Bin’s allies and Lin Jin was sure that if Huang Shi were to fight Qiu Bin, those two would come to his assistance.
The same could be said for the other party. Zuo Men tightened his grip on his spear and his aura spiked. He was ready to strike at any moment.
Lin Jin usually had a good eye for judging characters.
Simply put, he could usually tell from a bulk of enemies who would be the deadliest one.
He scanned the man and woman pair before his eyes fell on the woman.
Danger.
It wasn’t just his intuition. Lin Jin also felt an unmistakeable malicious aura from her.
She was no normal woman. She was a female immortal, a fairy.
Instead of a long, flowing dress, she clad herself in strange clothes that reminded Lin Jin of a barbarian from a witch’s tribe. She covered herself in beast leather, but the exposed patches of her skin were tanned brown. Her accessories included beast fangs and skeletal pieces, which reinforced her image as a savage.
Her countenance wasn’t visible due to the bull horn mask she wore.
As Lin Jin continued staring at her, the woman’s eyes glinted beneath the bull mask. It appears that she was staring back at him.
When their eyes met, both of them shuddered.
Lin Jin began to sweat profusely.
“What a strong psyche!” Lin Jin muttered to himself. Ever since he gained the Museum of Deadly Beasts, Lin Jin’s psyche exceeded everyone else’s. No matter who he met afterward, no one was able to match up to him.
After all, he usually relied on his psyche to search the museum.
The eye is where one’s spirit resides. When Lin Jin locked gazes with the woman, her psyche came crashing into him like a train.
Thankfully, Lin Jin was no weakling. Otherwise, he would have been knocked unconscious from the mental impact. In the worst case scenario, his mind might get shattered to pieces.
It wasn’t even a second later that, a shadow stood bravely in front of Lin Jin, defending him.
It was Dopey Bear.
Besides Dopey Bear, Zuo Men pulled Lin Jin aside.
“Taoist Lin, are you okay?” he asked anxiously.
Lin Jin steadied his mind and shook his head. “I’m fine.”
“Are you really okay?” Zuo Men studied him up and down with a worried look. His reaction surprised Lin Jin. Zuo Men must have been aware of the woman’s attack.
Lin Jin decided to ask Zuo Men about it.
“They appeared so quickly that so I didn’t have the time to warn you about it. I’ve been careless.”
Zuo Men was relieved to learn that Lin Jin was not harmed.
“That woman is from a witch tribe. Back in the ancient war between immortals, the witches were defeated by the immortals and their numbers went on a sharp decline. It is said that they went extinct at one point. However, after the great immortal tragedy, pockets of witch populations were discovered here in the extraterritorial zone, and although they weren’t great in number, they are not to be underestimated. This woman is known as ‘Evil Eye Witch’, and her powers lay in her ghastly eyes. If you come across her, you should never meet her gaze. I was distracted by Qiu Bin just now so I forgot to inform you about this. Thank heavens she didn’t go all out, or you might be in trouble.”
Zuo Men seemed frightened by that possibility. He thought that Lin Jin had only survived because the woman held back her punch.

Only Lin Jin knew that it wasn’t the case.
When his eyes met hers earlier, he immediately felt his world start to crumble. What was supposed to last a few seconds felt like a year. It was such a harrowing experience that those with a weaker psyche would have collapsed at this point.
Fortunately, Lin Jin’s psyche was strong enough to fend off her attack.
In other words, Lin Jin survived thanks to his resilience.
Lin Jin did not explain the situation, since it would only serve to complicate the issue. The Evil Eye Witch may possess terrifying powers, but Lin Jin should remain safe if her avoided her eyes.
What piqued his interest was actually the bone flute she held.
That thing must be a pretty dangerous toy.
Lin Jin took a deep breath to steady his mind. Speaking of which, from time to time, he would sense a breeze blowing inside the museum. Previously, Lin Jin’s mind felt like it was on fire and it irritated him so much that he lost his composure. However, after basking under the cool wind, he regained his senses relatively quickly.
No doubt, this must be another one of the museum’s phenomenal properties.
One that could help him calm his mind.
This was an accidental discovery and the museum’s ability to mend his psyche would be considered bizarre by many. In the books Lin Jin had read so far, he never found anything that could mend a person’s psyche so quickly.
The orthodox view was that one’s psyche could only be mended by slow recuperation, or by being nurtured by an elder with profound cultivation. These processes take a while before results were present.
A method to mend a psyche as quickly as the museum? No such thing existed.
At least, Lin Jin never heard of one before.
Now this was interesting. Like a child who had discovered a new toy, Lin Jin was eager to learn more about this function.
He recalled the moment when he locked eyes with the Evil Eye Witch. He remembered feeling the world collapse, and the endless lava that poured from beneath his feet, burning him alive.
Lin Jin was dizzy after suffering the mental attack so he hadn’t realized it immediately.
Looking back at what happened, he was thoroughly impressed by the Evil Eye Witch’s capabilities.
Lin Jin’s mind was racing. An interesting idea came to mind. He wanted to gauge the extent to which the museum would protect and mend his psyche.
This was essential, since if confirmed, Lin Jin would possess the capability to handle experts like the Evil Eye Witch.
What that in mind, Lin Jin brazenly looked at her again.
“Again? Does he have a death wish?” From afar, Evil Eye Witch had been observing Lin Jin.
After all, she wasn’t serious as she stared Lin Jin down earlier. She merely wanted to teach him a lesson by using ‘Scorching Witchcraft’ on him, since he was bold enough to stare into her eyes.
The fact that Lin Jin came back for round two provoked Evil Eye Witch.
It was necessary that she demonstrated her strength first, as a warning shot to the enemy. Though, to her, it was merely a minor attack. After having his psyche burned, that man should be in such agony that he could not stare at her again.
‘Do you think you’re worthy of looking at me?’
She never anticipated the brat to look at her once more.
This annoyed Evil Eye Witch.
‘I might have been too kind to the brat. Let’s use a stronger spell to teach this rascal a lesson!’
“I see you are brave enough to stare at me again,” said Evil Eye Witch with a glint in her eyes. This time, the hidden flames were replaced by a gaze so sharp that it could cut.
Evil Eye Witch was surprised to see Lin Jin staring back at her fearlessly.
