“You’re just a brat who never learns!” yelled Evil Eye Witch ragingly. She activated her spell without an ounce of hesitation.
This time, she was using blades instead of flames.
This sword spell was far more potent than the first spell, and it was undoubtedly more lethal.
Compared to the fire spell that was primarily used to maim the enemy, the blade spell was used to kill.
Even after learning that he shouldn’t make direct eye contact with Evil Eye Witch, the lad still brazenly stared at her. If she did not respond to his provocation, what would be left of her dignity?
Their gazes met again.
Previously, Lin Jin was attacked because he let his guard down. Who would expect that a person could attack with their eyes anyway?
This time, Lin Jin had prepared himself mentally and started a staring contest with her.
His mind wavered as he fell into darkness. Waves of sharp energy came at him relentlessly, and he felt excruciating pain as if a real sword was slicing away at him.
Lin Jin knew this was just a mental spell to hurt his psyche.
“Amazing.”
Although in pain, Lin Jin reinforced his psyche. Although his world was spinning, Lin Jin’s head remained surprisingly clear, and his spirit was untouched. He was able to distinctly sense each one of the enemy’s attacks.
Though, the darkness disrupted his vision significantly.
“Not enough!”
Lin Jin suffered eight slashes before he arrived at what he thought was his limit, so he retracted his psyche. It was a strategic retreat, but to Evil Eye Witch, Lin Jin was running with his tail between his legs.
“I’m surprised he could endure so many cuts. Even if he doesn’t die immediately, it should take at least thirty years for his injured psyche to recover. He might even suffer a permanent disability after this! In any case, death is inescapable!”
Evil Eye Witch cackled icily.
It was as if she was trying to say, ‘Are you trying to provoke me? You get what you deserve!’
Lin Jin stumbled backward after receiving the blow to his psyche. Zuo Men was spooked when he saw this. Even Huang Shi Sanren had retreated from his stand-off with Divine Palm Qiu Bin to check on Lin Jin.
“Taoist Lin, d-didn’t I just tell you not to look into her eyes? If you want to fight her, you have to avoid looking at her eyes. That is the rule.” Zuo Men looked worried.
Dopey Bear approached Lin Jin out of concern too.
Huang Shi Sanren’s face turned pale upon learning that Lin Jin had been staring at Evil Eye Witch.
“Evil Eye Witch is a malicious entity! We never provoke savage immortals if we can help it. Taoist Lin is in great danger after suffering her attacks. Hurry, we’ll bring him somewhere safe before we think of a way to stabilize his psyche.”
When Zuo Men explained that this was Lin Jin’s second time receiving Evil Eye Witch’s attack, Huang Shi Sanren was stunned.
It would make sense for Lin Jin to get injured in his first time facing Evil Eye Witch since he wasn’t warned about her eyes. If she hadn’t gone all out, the damage to Lin Jin’s psyche probably wasn’t that bad.
But what was this about it being the second time?
Evil Eye Witch may be their enemy but so long as they avoided her eyes, they would be fine. Why then, did Taoist Lin make the same mistake twice?
“Taoist Lin must be badly hurt. I’m afraid we have to prepare for the worst,” said Zuo Men sorrowfully.
Huang Shi Sanren sighed too.
Suddenly, Lin Jin abruptly lifted his head and opened his eyes.
He acted as if nothing was wrong with him.

Zuo Men and Huang Shi Sanren were surprised by this scene. Their thoughts began to run wild. Even their enemies were shocked by Lin Jin’s condition.
“What’s going on? Evil Eye Witch, why did you hold back on him? Do you perhaps know him?” Divine Palm Qiu Bin interrogated Evil Eye Witch. While he spoke to her, he kept his eyes glued to a nearby tree.
He couldn’t help it as he didn’t want to suffer either.
The male savage immortal beside Evil Eye Witch remained silent, but he looked just as baffled. He probably shared Qiu Bin’s thoughts as well.
‘You know him. That’s why you held back.’
Evil Eye Witch flew into a fit of rage.
She was serious when she used Blade Witchcraft. No immortal should have been able to withstand her attack. No matter how strong their psyche was, even if they didn’t keel over on the spot, they should have been severely wounded.
After all, while this world had medicine for physical injuries, there was no cure for a damaged psyche.
Even if there was a method to treat it, the process would take a long time.
To Evil Eye Witch, this was an unsolved puzzle.
She didn’t know how to explain the situation, so she simply kept quiet.
That suited her personality too as those who knew her would be aware that Evil Eye Witch was an aloof character. She would never care for other people.
Not even Divine Palm Qiu Bin or the savage immortal beside her.
Lin Jin saluted Zuo Men and Huang Shi Sanren, thanking them for their concern. When Lin Jin suffered the second mental attack, where his psyche was cut by blades, he was in excruciating pain for a few seconds.
Sure enough, it wasn’t long before the breeze from the museum came, instantly alleviating his pain and swiftly mending his psyche.
His psyche recovered immediately.
This thrilled Lin Jin and he was now sure that the museum had powers to mend and stabilize his mind, and it was incredibly efficient in doing so.
With this, Lin Jin no longer had anything to fear.
What’s more, his mended psyche was much stronger than before, so after being attacked two times, his psyche was twice as strong as before.
Thus, he decided to go again!
With a stoic expression and an unruly gaze, he looked at Evil Eye Witch again, as if to say, ‘Come on, twerp. Do it again!’
How could someone like Evil Eye Witch tolerate that?
Murderous intent surged inside her and her surrounding started to crumble.
Black aura oozed from her bull skull mask.
“Since you’re so adamant on dying, I’ll grant you your wish!” Evil Eye Witch’s eyes widened, and from a distance, it looked like ghost fire was burning in her blackened eye sockets.
It felt mysterious, blinding, and fatally tempting.
“T-this is… Soul Arrest!” The savage male immortal immediately backed away and averted his gaze frightfully.
He wouldn’t look at Evil Eye Witch, not even from the corner of his eyes.
He knew how terrifying the spell was.
Divine Palm Qiu Bin quickly turned around so his back was facing Evil Eye Witch.
“Wait, do you have to do this!? Have you no other options? If his death is what you want, we can just kill him straight away. There is no need to resort to this spell.”
Divine Palm Qiu Bin too, knew the severity of this spell so he and their other companion dared not look at Evil Eye Witch. It wasn’t just her eyes; they were avoiding her body entirely.
