10 days into school, and I've had a decent experience so far. I wasn't expecting to be wowed out of my shoes with an amazing experience, but we can still hope for a good one despite the current hurdles.

Late into the night, at around 11 p.m. I received a message from the school's information unit about the school club registration that would be taking place today.

At first, I was hesitant about it, but I finally convinced myself to check it out.

School clubs are a vital part of any student's stay here. They help with communication and teamwork. Sometimes it is even used to fluff a college application, but I believe it is mainly used to join peers who have similar interests to you.

It can be something as boring as watching paint dry. If you have 3 or more students interested in it, then VOILÀ! You have the potential to create a club.

Since it is the first week of the new school year, the various school clubs will be trying to persuade us to join their noble causes.

The school auditorium will be the location of the war-zone. It is not mandatory to join a club, but we still have to check them out.

As I approached the school's massive auditorium, I saw a large group gathered outside, waiting to go in. I'm standing in the line for entry now. I sighed and pulled out my phone to check the time.

It is 11:12 am. I should spend at least 18 minutes here before leaving. The line was slowly moving forward when I noticed the cause of it.

A male student was giving out pins to every student that visited the various clubs' gatherings. Finally, I reached the front of the line and I received a grey cloud pin.

"Please have a great time in there and I hope you settle on a club." The male student said with a warm smile.

I awkwardly nodded my head and walked into the auditorium. Observing the pin in my hand now. I thought it was cute but had no idea what it was supposed to symbolize. Does it mean that we're currently on cloud 9?

Then again, the clouds are grey, so that means it's potentially going to rain. So, does it mean we should be so excited about joining a club that we could possibly end up crying?

Well, I concluded that I was reading too much into this and I should just view it as a cute keepsake for visiting the auditorium during the school clubs' gathering.

As I stepped foot into the spacious building,

*Sniff* *Sniff*

Heh? What's this delicious aroma?

I turned to the left and saw a stall set up. Students dressed in aprons stood behind and in front of it.

Training my eyes on the club's sign now.

Cooking Club

OK, so it turns out I was smelling food, and apparently great food based on my nose.

Two of the students, who were females, approached me, and then one of them spoke.

"Would you be interested in joining the cooking club?"

I looked at her for a half second before giving my answer.

I nervously laughed, "I don't think a kitchen and I will be the best match."

The other girl added in shortly after, "You don't have to be a master chef to join because it is a learning experience."

I pretended to think about it for a moment and then decided to let them down gently.

"Do you have a flyer I can hold onto while deciding on my choice?"

"Of course we do."

The first female student gave me a flyer. It was pink with an expressive front.

As I looked at the flyer, I noticed the only thing it was missing was a unicorn and sparkles to really complete the look.

I waved at the two students and then left.

I don't think that the club and I would be a great match at all, but the upside is that the club is filled with beautiful girls. Maybe it's just a front to reel me in, and when I excitedly join, I'll probably never see the same girls from today.

I walked past other stalls now.

Art club. They had some of their work on display, and it was absolutely amazing. I always had an interest in art but was never really that good at it. I was more of an origami sort of person. However, I did manage to create one or two above-average drawings and paintings.

Photography and film club. As a person who appreciates fine films and breathtaking pictures, I can see myself potentially joining here.

Tea club?? Why is there a club for tea? Is tea really that grand to the point where people form clubs centered around it? I am not even going to question it.

Mixed Martial Arts club. A potential secret underground fight club

While I observed it. I noticed Yujiro standing next to the booth. He seemingly pondered whether to join or not.

Taking a deep breath, I decided to interact with him.

"Hey, are you planning on joining?"

Yujiro turned his head towards me and said, "Oh, you're one of the students from our class. I can't say I am too thrilled about the interaction, but at least you aren't one of the annoying ones."

A few days in, and he had already branded some students as annoying. I feel for him on that. Some of us can be a bit draining of energy.

"Oh that's an interesting statement."

"To answer your previous question, I am teetering on the idea of joining. My father used to fight professionally in a small pro company, so maybe I will join."

He then asked, "Do you have any fighting experience?"

"Uh no, only if you count watching martial arts movies."

"That's quite unfortunate."

After saying that, he left to sign up at the booth.

While debating which club I should join, I heard a familiar voice.

"They have too many options when it comes to sports!"

I sighed. There's only one person who can be this loud. I turned my head to the left and my suspicions were confirmed.

He is one of the students that Yujiro most likely has on top of his list when it comes to annoying students.

Ichiyo stood in the middle of the auditorium having a mid-teen crisis about what he should choose. I mean, there are a wide array of options when it comes to sports. There's tennis, basketball, football, track & field, etc.

Ichiyo then spotted me and approached, "Hey, you're Yuki right?"

"Yeah, that's my name."

"Did you settle on a club yet?"

"Um, I think I'll join the music club."

Ichiyo patted me on the shoulder and said, "You're a man, so you should do something manly."

I scratched the back of my head and replied, "I think music is considered manly."

"While you're sitting cross-legged while delicately touching piano keys, I'll be winning the school trophies and getting all the ladies."

"Uh sure, buddy. Did you even decide on what you want to do as of yet?"

Ichiyo sighed and said, "I am still stuck between basketball and track. What do you think?"

Well, from the standpoint you just mentioned, the best club to join would probably be tennis. You can win trophies there. The pretty female students would be bountiful, and they would be wearing those short tennis skirts. As a cherry on top, I heard that the tennis coach is a 10."

Ichiyo's ears perked up; "Yuki, you're a genius. I forgot about the skirts." He then rushed towards the tennis club's sign-up booth.

I think genius is a far stretch. I was just thinking with my second head. Anyway, I should sign up before all the spots are filled.

I made my way to the music club booth and looked at the sign-up sheet.

There weren't too many names on there. I was actually surprised. I figured that this club would be crowded by now. One name caught my eye. That's Maiya Murata. If I recall correctly, she's the shy girl from class introductions, and her hobbies did include playing the piano.

After signing my name on the sheet. A male said, "Thank you for choosing the music club, and I hope we have a great time together."

I hope I can have a great time as well.

As I was about to exit the auditorium, I noticed a crowd forming next to the chess club booth.

Someone then said, "Come look. The student council president is about to play the chess club president."

I wonder what all the hype is about?
