I raised my head to see who it was.
To my not surprise it was Ichiyo Hisoka. Of course, he would be the one causing a ruckus in this place of learning.
There were two notebooks and a text book open in front of him. He actually seemed to be hard at work apart from the recent outburst.
Minori sighed, "Well, at least he's trying his hardest."
"Why don't you assist him with whatever he seems to be having issues with? After all, he is your number one fan in school."
Still seated at the table, Minori proceeded to kick my shin while giving me a death stare.
I immediately changed the topic and switched it over to Maiya.
"So Maiya I barely heard you speak in class. Are you really shy or are you just not the talkative type?"
Maiya paused what she was doing.
That alone gave me the answer to my own question.
I continued, "Never-mind."
Maiya gave a slight smile and said, "No, it's fine. You can say I am just not comfortable with the students in our class."
Well, that's something interesting to say. I wonder what makes her feel uncomfortable?
Minori side eyed her a bit, "Well, you seem to be comfortable with Yuki and very tense with me. So my question is, "Do I scare you?"
Sigh. She could have at least sprinkled some sugar on it before shoving that question down her throat.
Maiya laughed a bit nervously, "Um, you do scare me a bit with your aura, but as I speak to you now, you don't seem as scary."
Awww, well look at that. Minori could possibly make a new friend.
Minori replied, "Oh, I see."
Well, this conversation is getting a bit awkward.
I cracked open the math textbook and said, "Minori will handle the tutoring; after all, she is one of the most intellectually gifted in our humble class."
Honestly, I don't think I can be a good tutor, but I think Minori can drill some of the information into Maiya's head.
*Vibration*
My phone got a message. I tapped on the message and it popped open.
Yodell Private Chat
Tori Nakazawa: Look Behind You.
Heh? Those words sound like they could be part of the top ten moments before a disaster.
I slowly looked behind me and saw that all four of them were sitting three tables behind us, apparently studying as well. So the library has another entrance? That has to be it because I didn't notice them come in.
Seishiro gave me a slight wave of the hand as a form of salutation. I did the same and excused myself from the table.
I walked over to them and struck up a conversation.
Tori said, "So do you need help with math? You know, my offer still stands."
"As tempting as that sounds, I'll take a rain check for now."
Tori seemed a little bit disappointed. I hate to turn down any offers from people who have good intentions, but I don't require it as of this moment. Maybe I can make use of her offer in some other way.
Seishiro poked me with his elbow and said, "If you're turning down a free offer like that, then you must be confident in your ability."
I laughed and said, "You can say I am hopeful that I'll avoid being the one with the lowest score. However, I think you should focus a bit more as well. You did get a 54 on the last quiz, so I think you need the tutoring more than me."
After saying that, I made my way back over to my table, where Minori was tutoring Maiya. I hate to have to divide my time between people, so I would suggest that everyone sits at one table and studies together, but I know how antisocial Minori can get, and Maiya isn't the biggest fan of crowds. Maintaining certain relationships while catering to certain people's needs is too taxing.
Still, I should be looking for ways to be more effective. I'll still have to risk it.
I pulled out my phone and sent a message. Afterward, I walked towards Ichiyo and sat next to him, who was visibly irritated by a question. I pointed to it and said, "The answer is X = 5."
He looked at me and said, "Wow, you're good at this."
I smiled and replied, "It's all thanks to Tori. She's pretty great at math. I've been getting a few pointers from her."
Ichiyo side-eyed me and said, "How good?"
I stroked my imaginary beard, "I would say she is the best in class and after would be Minori."

Ichiyo had a shocked look on his face, "Even better than Minori?"
Hearing those words was probably equivalent to blasphemy to him.
I nodded and replied, "However, Minori is the top student in English. So what I would suggest is get some tips from Tori and get some pointers from Minori."
Ichiyo exhaled from his mouth, "I am sure that Minori already told you the reason for my wanting to do this by myself."
"Yeah she did, but I think that your goal is superficial. You say that you want to feel like you can stand toe to toe with the other students, but you can in other aspects. Especially in physical, you are on a tier of your own. So stick with that and let the mental part of it come on its own. Unfortunately, you won't be able to do that if you're expelled, right? This always gives you an opportunity to get closer to Minori."
Ichiyo pondered it for a bit before he agreed. I wonder what influenced him to change his mind. Was it stroking his ego in the form of me confirming that he may be better than all of us in physical activities, or was it just me mentioning the time he could spend with his crush? Possibly a mixture of both.
Right on cue, Tori came over to our table and began to tutor Ichiyo.
OK, let's see. I have Minori tutoring Maiya, Seishiro is getting help from Kiyo and Arisu. Finally, we have Tori assisting Ichiyo. I believe that clears all the tasks at hand, or am I forgetting something?
Kai Suzuki got a 51 on the last quiz. So, which group does he belong to?Maybe Eiko is assisting him. She did score an 80 on her last exam, so she would be capable of teaching him a few things.
I think Yujiro will be fine. Despite his nature, he seems like an intelligent guy.
I'll have to figure out those details a little later because I am a bit preoccupied.
So I could safely say that today was somewhat successful, even though doing all of this was supposed to be Minori's job.
The sun was beginning to set. So everyone decided to call it a day. After all, we did spend like five hours in the library.
Personally, that's something I would never want to do again unless I was getting paid for it, but even then I would still have to think about it.
Well, at least I got some sleep, gauged some of my classmates' mental abilities, and managed to persuade Ichiyo to study with some help, so that's a straight sweep in my book.
As the five of us began to exit the library, I noticed that Minori was still helping Ichiyo with his English studies.
That is a good thing. It slightly reduces the chances of him placing last, even if it is only by a couple of marks.
I stood outside of the library as Maiya waved me goodbye.
"Thanks again for the session. I feel like I can perform better now in the examination due to Minori showing me a few things."
I was genuinely caught off guard due to the fact that I had no idea she was even paying attention because Minori was just rambling on and she was just nodding her head.
I chuckled a bit in a nervous manner, "Is that right? Well, I am glad to be of assistance."
With that, she was off into the sunset.
Our local shy girl is becoming comfortable around Minori. That is good progress.
Seishiro said, "That was actually a great session. We had there. Maybe we should start studying more regularly."
Arisu sighed and replied, "You were supposed to be doing that already."
With that, he was shut down again. Now I am totally convinced that Arisu wears the pants in their relationship.
Kiyo left by herself because she had something to do.
So that only left Tori, who stood next to me while Arisu and Seishiro had one of their couples bickering.
Such is young love, or maybe that's love in its entirety. I've never really experienced anything along those lines besides infatuation.
I turned to Tori and said, "Thanks for your help today. You were a big help and I definitely owe you on."
Tori nudged me and replied, "I may have you pay that debt in full soon."
Oh, that sounds sort of scary.
Shortly after, Minori and Ichiyo exited the building.
Ichiyo thanked Minori for her help and went on his separate way.
I yawned while saying, "Oh, good you aren't planning to pull an all-nighter in the library."
Minori replied, "Very funny, but I am leaving now."
With that being said, she took her leave.
