Aernest gave Eugene a small 'Oh' and thought back to the day. His eyebrows furrowed as he tried to recall, "Definitely my hidden guard and… possibly her hidden guard?" He tilted his head. "Other than that, there was no one in the vicinity."
Eugene looked at Aernest meaningfully and said, "You shut your guard's mouth right?" This was very important and the guard should not reveal anything to a single soul. Everyone was hurt enough as it is, and if the truth was revealed, no one would be able to recover.
Aernest nodded eagerly, "He doesn't report to our parents anymore. Also, I made sure to hush him immediately after the fact."
If there was something important he had learned from Eugene, it was to be cunning and thorough. There was also no need to mention that he had never believed that the person who pushed their grandmother off the window was Eugene. This was also another reason why he chose to not say anything to anyone and kept his guard's mouth shut. Because he knows that he has to be very careful with his words.

.
"Please come in." A calm voice spoke.
Eugene and Aernest opened and entered the room. This was their first time visiting or even stepping into Euria's room and already they were plenty surprised. The Euria they knew would have chosen a colorful palette to decorate her room, however, there was not a single colorful color in this room.
Like Eugene's room, the room was grey but slightly lighter. With decorations added, her room gave off a dark vibe. Though it was surprising to see Euria's tastes change so much, seeing Euria sitting, she blended well into the room's scheme and fitted in very well.
Euria only glanced at them briefly. There was no surprise in her eyes however she also didn't invite them in instantaneously. She stood up after a while and invited Eugene and Aernest over to the resting area of her room.
The resting area consisted of two medium-sized couches with a low table in front. Eugene and Aernest sat on one side, while Euria sat on the other.
"What is there for you two to come at this time?" She glanced at the window of her room as she said this. Like Eugene, she has her windows opened during nighttime to allow wind to cool her room. At this moment, it was around 8 pm, so it was quite rude of Eugene and Aernest to visit at this time.
Eugene didn't respond while Aernest glanced at the floor nervously. Only Eugene was staring straight into Euria's eyes as if wanting to cut open her brain and see what was inside.
The silence was long and before Eugene and Aernest realized it themselves, a small part of Euria's lips had long curved up. She crossed her legs and she leaned on the couch.
"Is it about that day?" She was to the point and sounded very sure that this was the only reason why the two were here.
"...." Eugene said nothing for a moment as she was thinking deep in her thoughts.
After a while, Eugene tilted her head, and with eyes filled with the realization she asked, "You knew?"
Eugene's and Euria's conversation confused Aernest deeply. He didn't know what they were talking about and was unable to follow.
Euria only smiled, however, her smile was an affirmation of Eugene's question.
"Right." Eugene nodded briefly as she straightened her back. Like Euria, she crossed her legs, and spoke, "There was no way you wouldn't know. Your hidden guard must've told you that Aernest and his guard were in the vicinity, or you must've realized it later yourself."
Eria shrugged her shoulders, not denying but not confirming Eugene's words.
Aernest turned to Eugene and blinked at her. Her words did not register in his head until 10 seconds later. His head turned sharply towards Euria and he gasped,
"What!!"
Euria glanced down at her table and said nothing.
'Still… I was hoping it was some kind of incident.' But with the way Euria was acting right now, that incident couldn't have been an incident. Eugene stared at Euria quietly and questioned her slowly,
"Why did you do it?" Many questions needed an answer, and this was one of the many.
Her red eyes met Eugene's grey eyes, and with no guilt in her eyes, shrugged, "Just because."
Eugene frowned, "Just… because?" she repeated. She rubbed her nose bridge and continued,
"But you loved her very… much?" Eugene's statement turned into a question. Suddenly, she wasn't sure anymore. She felt as if someone had replaced Euria, or 3 years full of memories with Euria was wrong.
"Did I?" Euria raised a brow and responded with a question.
"..." Alright she did not love her. However, this doesn't explain why she pushed an elderly person off the fourth floor. She wanted to ask her the real reason but she had doubts that Euria would tell her the truth. Especially since Euria's attitude towards Eugene and Aernest since they entered the room was cold and distant.
Hence, instead of asking or questioning Euria straightforwardly, Eugene decided to switch the mood up a little and poke Euria, "Odd that your eyes changed colors."
It was at this point that Euria's casual eyes changed. She had a wary look in her eyes as she stared straight into Eugene's eyes, then moved her gaze from Eugene's to Aernest's eyes to confirm if what Eugene said was true.
Euria's face turned hard for a second before she put on a face of realization, "Was that why everyone was cold to you and not me?" She scoffed as rolled her eyes, "You're very unlucky." There was sarcasm in her voice as she sneered.
Eugene studied Euria's words carefully and concluded one thing. When she had mentioned Euria's eyes turning grey, Euria ignored the basis that her eyes changing color was abnormal. She didn't even look surprised by her eyes changing color.
What else could this mean other than Euria knowing more than she lets on? Besides, Eugene has a feeling Euria knows a lot. Even possibly… about her as well.
Eugene didn't let go of Euria's tail and continued poking her to incite answers, "Do you know what you have done?" There was blame in Eugene's voice as she returned this sentence to Euria. The sentence Euria said to her 6 and a half years ago when their relationship broke into pieces.
"What?" Euria's eyebrows twitched as she repeated. She looked as if she couldn't believe what she heard just now. Many complicated emotions flashed by Euria's eyes as she stared at Eugene in speechlessness.
"Your mother cried," Eugene added with her head tilted. Euria's reaction was too weird. Even the way Euria was looking at her was weird.
"She's your mother too!" Unable to handle it anymore, Euria stood up and shouted at Eugene who jolted back. There was fury and anger in Euria's eyes as if she hated what Eugene said with all her guts.
Eugene pursed her lips with narrowed eyes. The room was dead in silence as Eugene was debating whether to continue to poke Euria or stop. Aernest could do nothing but sit frozen as the two exchanged heated stares.
"Why have you changed so much?" In the end, Eugene decided to continue. Her face was serious and she sounded like she said this from the bottom of her heart. Her harsh face, yet soft tone aimed at Euria's heart mercilessly, bringing forth intense emotions from Euria.
Euria's lips pursed as if she was forcing herself to not say anything. Her eyes were bloodshot as she looked to be holding something back.
"What is with my blood? Why did me using my blood change you so much?" Eugene was referring to the time when Kal's head disintegrated into nothing with a splash of her blood. And when Euria found out about this, she changed.
Euria's fists were clenched tightly. At this moment, the wind drifted gently, but along with it, the scent of iron wafted to Eugene's and Aernest's noses. It was faint and they could tell it was from Euria biting her lips.
"If you don't tell me, I'm just going to keep using it." Eugene shrugged.
Euria reacted immediately and shouted, "NO!"
"Just who are you?"
Anyone could see Euria's jaw clenching tightly when suddenly she raised her palm and covered her forehead, "Get out. You're being imaginative and giving me a headache. Just get out."
Eugene stared blankly and nodded to Aernest. However before she left the room she turned back and dropped a bomb, "You know 'me' don't you?"
Eugene witnessed Euria's face turning into one of speechlessness and shock. Her eyes were completely wide as they stared into Eugene's eyes. Eugene turned away and immediately left with Aernest, leaving Euria behind who could do nothing but stare at the backs of Aernest and Eugene as they departed.
Who would have known… this would be the last fight they have. Who would have known, this would be the last time they would sit face to face to talk. Who would have known that hell headed to them....
