Chapter 78: Come find me

Kara touched the fluid coming out of her father with her hand and raised it up. It was blood.

"Daddy!" She screamed on top of her voice.

Kane took duct tape and placed it on her mouth to stop her from screaming so loudly. He left her there with Jason and locked the door. He had a ransom money to pick up.

Twenty minutes later.

Kane watched from a respectable distance as everything went south. McKenna's reaction told him that she was unaware that Elixir was going to crash the party. Kane knew he had to get out of the country. If Elixir was involved now then sooner than later, she would figure out where he was.

Kane drove off. He needed to get back to Amazing's house to get the small bag that contained his fake ID cards for him and Kara.

When he got there, Amazing was in the sitting room watching television.

"Hey baby" Kane said and kissed her cheek.

"Where have you been Kane? You took my car without permission. I want my keys back, please"

Mckenna sobbed quietly in the car she was placed in. She should have listened to Naya about the money and how did Elixir even find out about everything?

She was still beating herself up when her eyes caught a glimpse of a printed photograph inside the car. She picked one up and examined it. The man in the photograph looked familiar to her but Mckenna couldn't place his face. 

"Excuse me! Who is this?" She asked the man Elixir had guard her.

"Kane brown, he took the boss's son" the man answered.

Wait! McKenna's brain struggled to put together information on the man in the photograph. She had seen him before but where?

McKenna's brows drew together like magnets as her head tilted slightly to the right side.

Oh come on already! She wanted to yell at herself. Then her gaze clouded like she was looking through a dirty transparent glass. Then the frown appeared followed closely by her eyes popping like she saw a ghost.

Mckenna started shaking her head and whispering repeating "No" like she was warding someone off.

"No! God, no!" 

She remembered where she saw Kane first. She opened the door and tried to get out but the man won't let her.

"You don't understand. He is my sister's boyfriend. She showed me a picture of him once! He is going to kill Amazing" Mckenna was hysterical yet the thug won't let her go.

"I will pass the information to the boss"

Mckenna didn't have time for this. She went back into the car and took her phone out. She called Jackson Donna twice to warn him about his daughter but he didn't pick up. Then it occurred to her to call Chike.

He picked up.

"Mckenna, I am sorry. I had to go to Elixir. If you had given the money to..."

"Shut up and listen!" Mckenna yelled at him "Kane is Amazing's new boyfriend! Go make sure that my sister is safe, Chike. Go! Now!"

Mckenna hung up and called Amazing severally but it went to voicemail. She sent a text message to her.

(If you are with Kane...run. He is Kara's biological father and he kidnapped my family. You are in danger. Get out!)

Amazing was in the kitchen trying to avoid the argument she was having with Kane about her car when she saw the message and froze.

She felt her heart take a jumping lesson and it excelled at it. She can still hear Kane's voice as he was still arguing about the car.

Amazing tried to reach for the knife when she felt his presence in the kitchen.

"What is it? You are suddenly quiet" 

Amazing tried to hide her reaction but the sweating and the tensed body gave her away.

"What is wrong, Amazing?" Kane asked her.

Amazing's eyes went to the knife, if she made a run for it, it was possible that she would make it.

Kane knew that something was wrong. The way she was suddenly quiet, her hunching shoulders and wide eyes was enough to answer his question. She knew exactly who he was now.

"Come on, Amazing...you know me" Kane tried to make her see reason.

"What did you do to my niece?" Amazing's voice was shaky at best. She exhaled to steady herself but it didn't work.

"Nothing" Kane answered her "Do you think I am a monster, Maze? Do you actually think I would hurt my daughter?" 

"No" Amazing lied through her teeth as she tried to make herself physically smaller.

"Well, I didn't hurt Kara but Jason, on the other hand..." Kane's voice trailed off like he wanted her to finish the puzzle.

"What did you do to him?" Amazing asked him in a low voice as terror made her body shiver.

"He had it coming. He stole my daughter and he screwed you, Maze"

"Let them go... please. Just let them go" Amazing pleaded with him as tears dropped down her cheeks.

"Come with me...you, me and Kara, we can be a family. With your family's money we can disappear into thin air and nobody will be able to find us" Kane tried to bargain with her.

"Just leave, Kane. Walk away right now" Amazing told him.

"Or what, b*tch?" 

"The police are almost here. My sister called them and knowing my father, he would send the Army just to be sure you are captured. Don't waste your time with me, leave while you can" Amazing told him calmly.

Her calmness made Kane even more angry.

He tried to grab her but she made a run for the knife on the table but Amazing didn't make it. Kane grabbed her and slammed her into the cupboard by the kitchen sink.

Amazing knew he was going to grab her again and so she ignored the pain that went through her, and grabbed the insecticide under the sink.

And when next Kane grabbed her, she emptied the insecticide on his face.

"Ahhh!" Kane screamed out in pain as he was temporarily blinded. 

Amazing took the time to make a run for it. She made it all the way to the living room and grabbed her keys when she turned around and saw him charging towards her like an angry bull.

Both of them fell on the glass table and it shattered, Amazing had it worst.

Kane started punching her, the pain sent batches of tears to her eyes but Amazing tried to ignore it. She placed her car keys in-between her fingers and she jammed it as hard as she could into Kane's ear.

"Ahh! B*tch!" Kane released her to tend to his own pain.

Amazing knew she wasn't going to make it out alive. When next Kane attacked her, he was going to kill her. She refuses to die without taking a pound of fresh from him. Without moving her damaged body she searched for a piece of the glass and she found a perfect one and she waited for him to come close enough.

Amazing was wrong, Kane grabbed the heavy wooden local mantle beside the television and he aimed it for her head. Amazing exhaled. It was all over for her but the door opened and it distracted Kane long enough for her to jam the piece of glass into his left foot.

Chike and Naya entered inside Amazing's house in time to stop her murder. Chike pushed Kane to the wall while Naya pulled Amazing out of the shattered glass. She was bloodied and battered.

"He has...my niece and…Jason" Amazing managed to say despite her swollen face.

"I know" Naya answered.

"Make him...tell me" Amazing demanded.

When Naya turned around, Chike was choking Kane. And when Kane managed to break free instead of attacking Chike, he went straight for Naya.

"This is all your fault, Chloe!" He tried to grab Naya's throat.

Chike rushed to intervene but then he saw Naya handle him like a teenage turtle ninja - one moment he was reaching for Naya, the next Kane was on the floor with Naya using his face as a punching bag.

"I told you! Chloe died" Naya yelled at him.

She managed to stop punching him in time for Amazing to jam another piece of glass into another foot "Where is my niece?!"

"You all are crazy!" Chike murmured and pulled Kane out of the way before they jammed a glass into his carotid and kill him for good.

"Stop...both of you. You are going to kill him before he tells me where to find my best friend and God daughter!" Chike yelled at Naya and Amazing.

Chike took out his phone and dialed Elixir's number. She picked up.

"Chike, now is not a good time"

"I know...I found Kane"

"Good. I found Jason and Kara"

Chike stood up immediately "Where is he?" 

"Somewhere in Asokoro, I am heading to the place" There was a pause "I have plans for Kane. Keep him alive till I can get my hands on him, will you?"

Chike stared at Naya and Amazing before he answered "I will do my best"
