“No way..” seeing the light die down, Moirae said.
“Damn it!”
Jiwon tossed the Crimson Ether with his might. It tore through the air in a straight line, the moment it made its way into the golem, he made the sword expand into 32 pieces, causing the golem to explode in an instant.
[LEVEL UP]
“Shouldn’t you have remembered this?!”
“We never fought this golem!” Jiwon quickly ran up to the teleportation zone and reread the inscription.
He had Crimson Ether reduced to 6 pieces. Holding the true blade, the blade tip of the Ether projection was placed each of the 5 points.
The runes started to glow blue.
“Moirae.”
“I know.”

“Where are we..”
“How could this be possible.. the dungeon should've been explored entirely shouldn't it..” Alytia muttered in disbelief.
“T-takata-chan..”
Sayu fell on Kaito’s shoulders. She passed out.
They were teleported to this lone room. The style was similar to the previous floor they were on, except that there were orange lanterns that lit the place.
“Should we rest here.. it’s a safe zone right?” Kaito suggested.
“We can’t be sure. But in this condition, we wouldn’t be able to advance forward either,” Alytia turned to see Sayu lying on his thighs. She tried to hide her pout.
“Okay.. “ Kaito flopped to the ground.
“You.. that’s a rather vulgar position to put yourself in..”
“Whatever. I’m dead tired anyways. I think my back and leg will die if this keeps up.” Kaito said with a grunt. He closed his eyes.
Left was Alytia.
She clicked her tongue inwardly and got up.
There were two paths they could choose, either the one behind or the one in front. There’s a small tabloid on the wall. She walked over and tried to read the contents, it was not in Japanese, but Phoenic for some reason. She could read it.
“A maze.”
‘At the end of the maze is where the treasure awaits.’
Alytia didn’t care about that, what she wanted was to exit.
“My legs would cramp and this rate.. ah, I can’t even get up. Help,” Kaito stretched his arms out to Alytia.
Rolling her eyes, Alytia came over to his side and pulled him up.
“I wish I had an inventory function..” Kaito scratched his head, looking at Sayu. He’d have to let her sleep on the floor wouldn’t he? If he did then it wouldn’t be gentlemanly of him would it? How exactly do girls give the boys a leg pillow? It damn hurts.
“I’ll do it in your stead if you..”
“It’s alright. I just need to bear with it,” Kaito sighed. “We should talk about our next plan.”
“I thought you wanted to rest.”
“I’m good now..” Kaito laughed.
When Kaito checked his equipment, he realized that he had lost his weapon. He threw the steel sword away the moment it broke. The only thing left on him was a small dagger for dissection.
On Alytia, there were a few A-grade binding talismans, barrier shield talismans and body strengthening talismans left. Asides that, she still had her magic rapier with her.
“I’ve become a problem haven’t I?” Kaito scratched his head. With but a dagger, what exactly could he do?
“Another problem we have is food. How long do you think it’ll take to get out of he..” Alytia sighed.
“And a washroom.”
“You jest!” Alytia’s face turned beet red.
“I’m just saying the truth!?”

“Where is this.. they’re not here.” Jiwon appeared in a room. Similar to the one Kaito ended up in. A crossroad: there were two paths they could choose.
“It’s a maze,” Moirae opened her eyes after sensing her surroundings.
“Can you sense where they are?”
“No. These walls are built in with anti-magic. I can’t use magic to locate them.”
“I should’ve destroyed the circle..”Jiwon clenched his teeth in regret.
“Look, a sign. It says… something about a treasure at the end.”
“We’re not here for treasure. If this is a maze, then we’ll just have to flip through every single room.”
\\
\\
\\
“Ah.. we’re dead,” Kaito said with a self-deprecating laugh. His voice was hoarse and Alytia’s rapier he held in his hand was shaking.
“No..” Alytia paled
“Ekk..” Sayu staggered backwards.
This was their 10th room. Kaito was incredibly blessed with his [Assimilation] Unique Skill, for if it weren’t for that, they would’ve died many times over by now. That said.. this was the end of the line for them.
“T-tentaccle..” Kaito grimaced.
Sayu’s face seemed to flash red at those words.
“I don’t know if I can beat these..”
Usually, the monsters in one room would range between one to five creatures. After completing a room, it becomes a safe zone. There were 3 paths you could choose, the previous room that had been completed, which was a safe room cleared out from monsters, or the two other rooms to advance forward.
This time, their luck ran out.
Tentacle monsters in the hundreds. Icky black goo and white slimy mucus glistening in the light. The slushing of the monsters in between each other like magots, generating an indecent sound that did more to disgust than arouse any sort of sexual response.
“They haven’t seen us so let’s just..”
One of the tentacle monsters launched one of its buddies to them like a catapult. Kaito quickly intercepted that fellow and it dropped to the ground, now in half.
“They’re still alive?!” the tentacle halves wound themselves around Kaito’s legs. He shook his leg violently to get rid of them.
“Fire!” Sayu blasted his shoes.
“H-Hot!”
“H-hey there's more coming?!”
They fled for their lives. This room was out. They couldn’t beat these tentacles. If it was a brawl, then Kaito would come out victorious. After assimilating so many powerful monsters, his stats were practically at the 4-digits mark. But because the tentacles couldn't be defeated via physical attacks, it was totally useless.
If a mage could just blast the room with a saint-tier fire spell then it would’ve been over in an instant. Easy peasy.
Too bad Sayu didn’t have that capability.
“Oi?! I didn't know they could chase us into the safe zone.”
“What should we do?!” Sayu asked in panic. She kept hurling fireballs at them. Everytime the flames came into contact, a sizzling sound could be heard accompanied by a sour smell.
“Maybe they’ll stop chasing us after a distance.”
They decided to test this theory and ran to the starting room. Rooms that are safe zones are marked by the blue crystal on top of each entrance.
“Okay.. looks like we're wrong..” Kaito paled.
They reached the starting room but.. that didn’t stop the tentacles from chasing them.
Alytia quickly took out a talisman and pasted it on the ground.
A barrier formed around them as the tentacles started pouring into the room. Slowly, the dome’s surroundings were engulfed in white and black.
Kaito gulped.
“Disgusting..” Alytia didn’t know if the white thing was-- what she thought it was..
“What do we do now..” Sayu shivered.
“The barrier doesn’t seem like it will come down soon. It seems they aren’t able to do much physical damage.”
At this rate, the barrier should last until it naturally expires. Alytia had one more taliman on her, so around half a day at most.
“We’re trapped.. we’re dead.” Kaito laid to the ground and stared up at the wiggling mass.
“We’re going to die aren’t we..” Sayu croaked.
“Sorry. I should’ve picked the left path as you said,” Kaito sighed.
“It’s not your fault. I should’ve not decided to confront the golem to begin with. You were who protected us all this way to begin with..”
“Or I should’ve picked the magic skill from that witch rather than the MP stat..” Kaito muttered.
“Hiik. Hiik..”
“Takata-sama..”
Sayu started to sob.
Kaito tried to console her by rubbing her back.
“It’s the end..” Sayu cried, lamenting how useless she was.

It had been hours since they’ve been stuck inside this dome. Alytia noticed how the barrier was starting to show signs of coming apart so she quickly layered the last taliman on top of the current one.

Their sanity chipped away slowly as time passed.
The slimy squishy sounds could still be heard through the barrier.
“What do you think you want to do if we ever make it out alive?” Kaito asked.
The three of them just laid there. For the first hour, they thought perhaps Sensei knew about this so he would act all heroic and save them but.. three hours, four hours. Actually, they couldn’t even tell the time.
Their hopes faded together with the disintegration of the first barrier.
“We can be honest since we’re going to die, aren’t we?” Alytia said.
“Honesty is a virtue.”
“I can’t believe you can still joke around in a place like this.”
“It’s to reduce anxiety. I’m going to go crazy. If we’re going to die then it’s alright to just say our last words right? Any deep dark secrets?”
“I regret getting mad at her over something like that..”
“Her? Who?”
“My younger sister.”
“Her Highness Siesta was it?”
“Yes..” Alytia sighed. “It’s really unfair. Out of nowhere she received a letter from the Prince I liked. I didn’t think he would be interested in her, so I went digging for information. I learnt soon that it was something set up by His Majesty. He had incited the prince to send that letter, in hindsight-- a political marriage disguised as love. But by that time, it was too late. A ridge had formed between me and my little sister. We were supposed to work together to win the next succession war. I didn’t reconcile with her, I didn’t know how. I was just too mad, I couldn’t think straight. Life turned into a series of problems one after another,” Alytia banged her fist on the ground as she let out her frustrations. “I loved him, I really do.. but why did my father choose her? Why my little sister? They barely even met..”
Alytia remembered the first time he met him. It was during a ball when she had been awarded by His Majesty the title of a royal knight. A princess inheriting such a title was nothing to scoff at, what’s more, a woman.
It was then she met Kyoshi Toren. A guy with a cute, rounded face, tall stature and curly dark brown hair. Despite having not seen him for more than a year, Alytis could still remember his face as if they had just met yesterday. She just knew somehow there was something more to him. His outward appearance was but a cover, his eyes showed something else.
It was love at first sight. The Alytia then had never loved anyone before. Kyoshi Toren was her first love.
She worked harder, trained harder. She wanted to be a woman capable of standing beside him.
“It’s really foolish of me. To want to aim for the throne yet find love with a Prince from some other kingdom. What am I thinking..” Alytia muttered with tears in her eyes.
“Everyone has a dream..” Kaito wondered if what he said was even true, “..Not me though.”
In the end, they were going to die under the weight of crawling tentacles. Whatever regrets they had, it would be too late to repent for it anyways. One could imagine the ridiculous death they would face as the tentacles crawled over them, consuming them slowly as it entered through every possible orifice. Kaito shuddered to the thought, his heart felt queasy at his powerlessness.
“Aoki..san.”
“What it is Takata-chan?”
Kaito turned to her with a tired expression.
“Sayu… Call me Sayu.”
Kaito let out a slow exhale.
“Fine. It’s our last hour together anyways. So.. S-Sayu-chan..”
“K-Kaito… Kaito-kun”
He stiffened.
“I-I LOVE YOU!” Sayu shouted, squealed. She tried her best.
“No way.. I got confessed to..” Kaito wondered if this was perhaps the suspension bridge effect at play.. he hoped not. For a moment he found Sayu more alluring than usual. Of all times, he had come to realize she had this charm no other female had.
One example was Sayu balled into a shrimp out of embarrassment. You could hear her sobbing.
“We’re going to die in the end.. S-so.. if we get out of here. By some chance..”
“I know. Let’s go out together.”
“Y-yes!”
“Kaito,” Alytia called out.
“Not you too..”
“Go die.”
“We’re going to die anyways..”
A few more minutes passed in silence. During those few minutes, Sayu came up to Kaito bashfully and the two started hugging each other. Tears fell from her eyes, knowing that her wish would never come true.
She had said it-- her confession. There was just one more wish she wanted to fulfill before her life ended. Unlike the previous one, it could be done now. Her life was about to end so might as well do ‘it’.
“C-can I request something selfish.. Kaito-kun.”
“What is it..” In a voice barely awake, Kaito asked.
“Your Highness Al..”
“Just call me Alytia. No need for any fancy titles anymore. In the end, we’re the same,” Alytia smiled weakly.
“Y-you see.. I know of a way to survive.”
“Huh?!”
“What, seriously? How!?”
Kaito and Alytia jumped to their feet.
Sayu bit her lips.
“B-But before that, I want... K-Kaito.. let’s do.. ‘that’.”
“W-What do you mean?” Kaito scrambled his mind to figure out what she meant by ‘that’.
“The tentacles would do it if you don’t. It’s the same.. I-I just want you to do it instead of those disgusting monsters..” Sayu said with tears, “You can get out of here alive, not me.. my [MultiCast] Skill. If you took it then it’s possible to beat them isn’t it.. isn’t it..”
It was a lightning bolt to the mind.
“Sayu.. I-I can’t..”
“Please..” Sayu started stripping.
“You aren’t serious..” Alytia said, her voice was strained.
He understood what Sayu was saying to him. She wanted to fulfill that wish before she died. She wasn’t wrong when she said they could possibly escape if he took away her [MultiCast] skill. As bad of a magician Kaito was, if he could duplicate a simple fireball spell a hundred times, burning the tentacles would be a clinch. His mana wasn’t the problem, it was his proficiency in magic.
In exchange for her life.. she wanted him to take away her virginity. She wanted him to be her first, rather than be possibly raped and turned into baby factories by those tentacles.
“THIS IS CRAZY!!” Kaito yelled. Gripping his head in desperation. He didn’t know what to do. His conscience didn’t allow it, but what choice did he have?
“Sorry Kaito.. as your girlfriend, this is all I can offer. At least let me fulfill this much..” Sayu had taken off her upper clothes, revealing her naked body, “Alright? Kaito?”
Tears continued to stream down her face, a mixed expression of anticipation and sadness.
One could even associate her expression with this word: Insanity.
Alytia turned away, and plugged her ears, but she couldn’t contain her tears.
“Kaito..” Sayu, in a delirious state, crawled over to him on all fours.
“Sayu..” Kaito quivered.
She stole his lips.
“Wow..” Nine had reached her ‘bystander limits’ and couldn’t help but voice out her impression. She had just seen something inappropriate, it was as R-18 as could get.
Yes: He had turned into a she. Thinking that if she were a he, he would’ve gotten a nosebleed at the sight of Sayu’s naked breasts. Whatever that meant.
“W-WHAT?! WHO ARE YOU?!” Alytia jumped.
And at that exclamation, Sayu and Kaito woke up from their stupor and looked Nine’s way.
“Oh hello. Sorry for the interruption um..” Nine couldn’t come up with the right words. Her mind was too occupied by the possibility of what was to come if she arrived just a little later. She would’ve seen the two put on an act, under a dome of slushing tentacles.
It was as R-21 as could get.
“W-who are you?”
“KKYAAHH?!” Sayu yelled and quickly covered her chest.
“Haha.. I’m so sorry. I actually came here to help. Did I disturb anything.. or should I return..”
“NO!”
“Okay, I was joking..”
“How did you get here?!”
“Okay, let me explain..”
Nine went on to teach them about Noel’s [widget] system and [God’s Eye] and told them to teleport to someone they knew.
“.. Her Highness Siesta for example. It’s easier if everyone chose the same target right?” Nine said.
“Our saviour.. Our savior,” Sayu muttered repeatedly.
“I know this is a wrong time to ask.. but who are you exactly?” Kaito looked at Nine as if looking at some weird unicorn. He held Sayu close to him.
“I’m just a random Irregular that came to this world two weeks ago, that’s all,” Nine shrugged. “Now then, just teleport already, the barrier is going to crack soon ain’t it?”
“Is there no cost to this?” Sayu asked.
“There is. Don’t spam it,” Nine said with a superficial frown.
“So it’s done like..” Alytia’s words disappeared together with herself.
“She-she’s there!” Sayu who saw Alytia appear on the other side of [God’s Eye] cheered.
“Then we should also..”
The couple went on their way and disappeared from this hell pit.
‘Bzzt. Nine here, mission cleared. You can remove their widgets now.’
‘Saw EVERYTHING. Thanks,’
“Huh, these tentacles actually have some peculiar skills,” finishing the message, Nine turned to look at the wiggling mass. “Maybe it might have some use in the future?”
By use, Nine meant all the perverted things. Many ‘indecent’ skills could be found.
Nine just chucked them all into his note of skills before calling it a day.
‘I’ll be meeting up at Liliath’s side so see you there.’
Nine teleported.
500 points spent, just like that.
