Another day.

I opened my eyes and got up.

Nine was already gone from the couch. You could hear the sound of running water in the bathroom. I headed over to the kitchen to get a drink.

I wonder how they’re doing. I think Liliath would wake up in a short while, followed by Prune. As for that demon lord.. I don’t know her sleep schedule. Let’s just hope she gets up later than everyone else to avoid surprises.

“Morning,” Nine came into the living room, rubbing her wet hair with a second towel.

“Morning, you okay?”
“I’m alright,” she wrapped the towel around her head.

“Can I ask about it? About yesterday?” I went over to the living room cabinet to pick my clothes for the day.

Today’s schedule: yet to be decided.

The wedding was over, and there weren't any other events that followed. I suppose we can visit the Earldom if we wanted-- oh yeah. We have to deal with the issue with the demon lord though..

“You and Liliath. When conflicts happens, what do you do?”
“What kind of question is that?”

“I don’t know. You asked, right?”

Was this what’s been bothering Nine?

“I don’t know what to do, honestly. Welp, it’s a part of things. Just accept it and learn to live with our differences. I just think of it as inevitable misunderstandings. It’s really about not taking things too seriously.”

“It hurts when it happens doesn’t it?”

“In a way,” well, funny enough, during the reconciliation with Liliath-- rather, after every small conflict, there’s this sense of euphoria that hits me. It’s like we got to know each other just a little better.

It also reminds me that I truly love her.

“I don’t know what to do,” Nine sat and laid her head on the table, arms folded, “You already know don’t you? About Bleu.”

“You mean you and Bleu?”

“I’m still in that state of indecision. I haven’t decided yet..”
Nine and Bleu huh.. I think that’s quite a match. Both are cheery, both are funny, both are absurd..

“Take your time then. We have quite a lot on our hands. Plus.. there’s still a long way in life to go,” even for Nine. The fact that she’s 16 means that she hasn’t experienced more than 30 percent of her life yet.

“In cases where you have a typical novel development like a noble daughter having to be forced into a marriage, what does one do?”
“What? Is that actually happening?”
“Yeah..” Nine looked at me with a flat face.

“Usually.. the MC has to be close to the person before he decides to save her right? I heard you got a marriage proposal..”

“What marriage proposal?! That’s just rumors!”
Rumors.. huh. I somehow get this fishy sense that these rumors are going to spread everywhere-- don’t nobles use rumors as an information source? The weird thing is how accurate these rumors can sometimes be in stories-- when in reality, rumors are plain BS.

“What do you intend to do? Save her? Actually, we have to consider if actually she needs saving though?”

“True.. she might not need saving.”

“Everyone has to face life’s challenges by themselves, and there are certain novels that pluck the female lead characters from trouble.. I’m surprised it doesn’t cause an entitlement mentality.. Actually, what did she say?” I’m judging people again. Not good, better stop here. I don’t know the noble’s situation.

“That she would be engaged to a pig.”

“Okay.. you want to butt in? Honestly, I think there’s a limit to what we can do.”

“I get what you mean. It’s just annoying, talking about engagements and marriage without knowing what it actually means.. are the kids here really blind about love? They really think love is eternal and almighty by some miracle?”
“This is a fantasy world after all..”
“It’s best I just ignore her, right? That noble. She said she would be engaged to a pig-- but what if that pig dies and his soul gets replaced by another reincarnated person? That would mess up everything wouldn’t it?”

“That’s ridiculous..”

“Bleu said it herself.”

“Fuck seriosuly?”
It’s not impossible..

“Noel, morning.”

“Mor..”

“M-Morning.”

Liliath was holding the demon lord by her hair.. the hair.. that looks painful..

The demon lord had her head lowered-- and kept it lowered. Liliath gave the demon lord a chilly gaze.

Um..

“Morning Liliath, Morning Rinalanashina-san,” Nine said nonchalantly.

“We need to discuss some matters Noel,” Liliath said seriously.

“Matters..”

Uh.. yeah.

The demon lord Rinalanashina was to return to her territory this evening. So she still has the morning to prepare for departure. Just that.. her situation didn’t look too good.

If you check on the map, you’d notice that Vincent-san, the assassin, made his move. Orange dots are multiplying all around the Earldom, and the person himself was back inside the mansion.

I don’t know what he’s planning but maybe it’s a good idea to wreck his status value for safety reasons?

“Maybe he came to take back his [Playboy] skill,” Nine said.

I personally think this assassin is quite the competent one. Even though most of his skills were removed, he was still able to come up with some contingency plan. He’s got to be some top notch professional to be able to do this much with his skills gone.

“Noel, take her in.”

“I said no.”
“Noel..”

And this was the so-called matter Liliath wanted to talk about.

The five of us sat around the couch, tea on the coffee table.

Rinalanashina’s fingers were shaking, lips quivering.

I should really stop paying attention to her.

“Please.. for her sake, for my sake.. I wish not to see her move down the path of..”

“Liliath. Sure, we can take care of her, but like I said before. You’re the only one I’m taking.”

Liliath’s eyebrow creased.

Yeah. If it means taking Rinalanashina under our wing for protection's sake because her family is in the shambles then no problems there. The big issue here is that Liliath wants me to sweep her off her feet, not only to protect her from her family-- but to also protect her from demon lord Javiel.

Liliath is insisting I make this demon lord MINE so that she doesn’t becomes Javiel’s wife.

You see the absurdity here?

Someone help. I really can’t accept this..

“Both of you.. are demon lords are you not?” Rinalanahina spoke.

“Yeah,” I said. Liliath poked my cheeks. I turned to her, she pouted really seriously. See? She’s jealous that the demon lord took away my attention and here she wants me to make the demon lord mine?

“I-I.. I apologize for everything I’ve done. And wholeheartedly give my thanks for saving my life..” Rinalanashina said in a shaky voice, “I have nothing left to offer in thanks besides myself.”
“Okay, stop there,” I said.

Liliath’s stare was piercing...

“You said that you can’t return to your family right? First we need to deal with that. If not, you can come with us..”
“So that means she’s joining?” Prune asked.

“Good luck Noel,” Nine said.

“Damn it,” I held my head.

What’s this.. what’s this.. I looked at everyone in the living room and all I see are girls.

And then we have Jennifer-chan, Gabriel and Miss Margrett.. they weren’t here but..

All are girls.

ALL OF THEM.

Not a male in sight.

“Nine.. can you.. not try to kill me here?”

“What do you mean? I’m just repeating what Bleu said last night?” Nine tilted her head.

I didn’t mean that.. I meant you should change to your male form..

Rinalanashina is in a way-- desperate for a solution to get out of her predicament. To summarize, she was tasked to kill me and Liliath because we were thought to be the Margrave’s illegitimate children. And Vincent-san was there to assist her in the assassination. That was the deal for her freedom but-- as you know, the story plot wasn’t that kind. Rinalanashina was betrayed, and was too an assasination target.

Both the Margrave and the assassin knew that Rinalanashina was a demon lord.

With all these pieces coming together, she basically realized she has nowhere else to escape. If she does return to the territory, the chances of her getting killed is almost 100 percent.

“Nine-san! Nine-san! Nine-san! You have a visitor!!” knock, knock, knock, came from the door.. how did Gabriel get in the proxy room..

“What time is it?”

“Around 6.”
“Breakfast. Let’s continue the talk there,” Nine got up.

“Liliath?”

“Please..” Liliath pleaded.

I honestly hadn’t come to a concrete decision. The plan we created yesterday night in Bleu’s domain was now all over the place.

“Liliath.. for now we’ll see the situation as it goes. If it really goes bad then we’ll take her in.”

For a moment her eyes sparkled.

“But don’t expect me to fall for her.”

She then showed a crestfallen look. Hah.. this girl really..

“Rinalanashina?” I called out to the demon lord. Damn her name is hard to pronounce.

“Y-yes.. then I’ll be in your care.. everyone can call me Rin.. or Rina.. ”

“Okay.”

“Rina-san,” Liliath said.

“Rin-san,” Nine muttered.

“Rin or Rina?” Prune asked.

“Knock knock! I know you’re in there!” Gabriel shouted.

“I’ll get the door,” Prune said with a sigh.

I actually thought to publish my ebook— prepared 2 volumes of manuscript and 6 unreleased illustrations (coloured; but for you on Patreon, you've seen 3 of them) and 14 black and white ones. I found out I can’t publish on any ebook sites because I hadn’t gotten no salary— my tax identification number— which is found on the salary slip— which for some reason is needed for completing your whatever publishing account.
