We finished eating breakfast and I was currently packing my things and getting ready for school.
To my surprise, It seems I forgot to put my form away.
I take it off my desk and put it gently and carefully inside my bag, making sure it doesn't wrinkle.
I go downstairs, fully ready for school; wearing my uniform and my bag in one hand.
I enter the kitchen and see whom I was looking for; Mom.
"Mom, can I come back a little late today?" I ask.
"Hm?" She turns around to look at me. "Sure, but why?"
"I promised I would hang out with Souma today."
"Ah, I see. Okay, sure. Don't stay too late though, okay?"
"Okay~!" I was happy I got her approval. Now I won't have to break that promise. If I did, he would probably beat me up(Just kidding).
The both of us walk out of the kitchen together and saw Onee-chan coming down the stairs, also ready for school.
The both us put our shoes on and bid mom goodbye as we leave the door. She also bids us goodbye and tells us to stay safe; as usual. Of course, its not annoying to hear it pretty much every single day. It's actually kinda nice. It feels kinda as if you matter... or something.
......
Me and Onee-chan walk until we had to separate and then I was finally alone.
I walk down the streets all alone, looking up at the blue the sky.
It seems today might be a good day. The sky was clear, the sun was shining and there was no sign of rain. Its quite the ideal day to hangout.
After a couple more seconds of gazing at the sky, I turn my attention back to the road I was walking through.
There wasn't that many people, surprisingly. Normally there are more people at this time? Did something happen? I thought. Oh, well.
I suddenly felt an arm wrap around my neck. The sudden action made me rock a little forward. Wait, could it be something really did happen?
The arm rested against my shoulder while mildly touched my nape.
I look over to my left. The direction of touch. It was Souma. I let out a small and quiet sigh of relief.
"Yo." Their was a small smile on his face.
"Ah, Mornin'. " I try to hide my surprise and 'joy'. For a second I thought something actually happened. Luckily it was just me overthinking it.
"Whats up, you not in a good mood or something?" He pokes my cheek.
"......"
"Wait, you really aren't in a good mood?!" His smile was gone. Now he was shocked.
"I am. I guess." I'm not really sure what type of mood I'm in. I would say, 'normal' as its pretty much the best way to describe it. Or maybe a little better then normal.
We walk until we made to school.
The both of us walk to our lockers and switch into our indoor shoes.
After switching shoes, the both of us walk up the stairs.
A while after, we were sitting at our seats, waiting for class to start. Most of the class were with their friends, talking. Of course, I was no different. Me and Souma were also chatting.
There was still about... 10 minutes I think till class starts? I look up at the clock. There was actually around 4 minutes left. I was off by 6 minutes.
At that moment, I suddenly remembered something. Something I completely forgot about. How did I even forget about it in the first place?!
I take a sheet of paper out of my bag, swiftly. It was my math homework! I forgot to do one of the questions.
Souma looks at the almost-filled sheet.
I take out my pencil and start answering the question.
"Ah, you're doing it wrong." Souma says, pointing at the paper. Pointing at the mistake.
I look up at him. "Huh?"
"You're supposed to multiply these two first and then divide the bottom part." He says.
I try out his suggestion as I was one, wrong and two, I trust him.
When I finished writing it down, I looked over it. I really did get the right answer. How did I know I got it right? Did I have an answer sheet or something? No. Firstly, I did it the way I did before, and I got a number in the decimals. But, after using his method, I actually got a whole number. And thus, I believe I got the right answer.
"Oh~ Thanks~" I was a little stunned as to how just a slight change can do so much to the answer.
"No prob~"
After that, I asked him to help me out a little more. He also said I got the right answer. His method really did work.
Before I even knew it, the bell rang.
A few seconds later, the door opened and the teacher entered the now-quiet class.
"Good morning, everyone." He greets with his black binder in his hand.
Just like that, class started.
....
I'm not sure if I would say time passed by as slow as a snail or fast like a bird gliding through the sky. I guess the best way to explain the passing of time right now, would be... normal. The lessons were kinda long and there were parts where it was quite boring, but, it didn't really feel slow nor fast. It was in the middle.
The sad part thing is that even its super boring- pretty much, the boringest thing in the world- nothing can be more un-entertaining then this, you still have to pay full attention. Why? Because of the final exams. I would rather not fail them. I'm pretty sure no one wants to fail them. This is just the sad life of us students.
"If you brought back your 'High school choice' form, place it right here." The teacher holds his hand out towards the empty desk right in front of him.
Me and some of the other students start rummaging through our bags just as he finished talking. Souma seemed to also be one of these 'other students' as he also started reaching into his bag.
I find my form and take it out. I stand up and walk over to the empty desk just as the other students were.
There was even a line. That's how many people already decided on their school. Of course, I was also in this line. Not at the front but in the middle of it.
There were about 10 students ahead of me. 10 out of the 30 students in the class.
I look around at the classroom. Their was about 2-3 students sitting down. It was probably because they either, one: didn't want to stand in the long line or two: they still haven't decided.
As I look at the vacant seats, my eyes turned it's attention to the world outside of those glass windows.
This classroom was on the third floor so you could see a scenery you couldn't see on the lower ones.
In the far distance, I could see plenty of green and healthy trees. The leaves attached to the branches were being swayed by the relaxing summer breeze.
They sure are lucky... I'm kinda envious of the little leaves that were being swayed. I break into a small smile that was followed with a light chuckle after the envious thought came to mind.
After a while it was finally my turn to submit my form.
"Are you completely sure about your choice?" The teacher asks. I guess he didn't want me to regret my decision or anything. It would also be annoying having to change schools after already submitting my paper. It would be troublesome for both me and the teachers.
"Yes!" I reply with a smile on my face. There is no way I'm gonna regret this decision. I wonder why I have that feeling though... Oh, well.
I place my form atop the stack of papers.
With that, my choice is now set in stone. I will be going to Azayaka Gakuen along with Onee-chan starting next school year.
For some reason I was little excited. That was probably because I would be going to a new school and my new school life and stuff. I mean, I've never been to high school before(obviously).
I wonder what it will be like. A smile forms on my face. What am I even thinking about? I still have so long left till the time comes. I still have to pass that big wall. Ugh~ The finals~ I heard they were really hard. I suddenly lost all motivation to be excited for high school now.
I get out of the line as I already submitted my form and walk back to my seat.
I pass by a couple of students and then see Souma amongst them. He was holding a white paper. It was the form.
He waves at me.
After waving back at him, I sit down at my desk, waiting for the rest of the class to finish.
...
Time passed by and the line finally vanished as the last person handed her form in. It was also already time for lunch.
"Wanna go outside today?" Souma asks, turning his head towards me with one hand against the top of the chair.

"Sure." I reply.
The both of us leave the classroom just as the rest of the students were.
We eventually made it outside and sat at our 'secret hideout'. Or so Souma calls it. It's just bench that most people don't sit at.
Like usual, he was eating his usual, school-store-bought stuff.
"Are you sure that's enough?"
"Hm?" He looks at me while in the middle biting the bread.
He chews on it and then throws the last bit in his mouth. He proceeds to crumple the packet. He then puts it inside the plastic bag. It was now removed from my sight.
"Yeah. I don't like to eat too much while I'm at school. If I'm hungry, I eat after school,"
"Oh~ I see, I see. Ima write this down." I joke. I didn't have any paper to write on, nor anything to write with.
"Eh? Why?"
"Tips to becoming smart, duh."
"..." He was silent. "Hahahaha! There is no need to write it down. That's just for me. Other people are different." he laughs.
"...I see. Anyways, I can give you some of my lunch if you want." I hold out my bento towards him.
He smirks. "Then, will you feed me?" He still had that smirk.
"....." What is this guy saying? "What?"
"Ah~" He opens his mouth wide open, awaiting my lunch to enter it.
"Do it yourself." I say. There is absolutely no way I'm feeding him.
"Hmm~" He pouts. "Then... say 'ah~'"
"Why?"
"Since you don't want to feed me, I'll just have to feed you."
"Huh?" That... does that even make sense? I guess it does. Some people like playing volleyball instead of watching it and some people like writing stories instead of reading them.
He goes through the plastic bag and takes a new pack out. He opens it, making a pop sound.
" 'Ah!~' " He brings it closer.
"No." I move back.
" 'Ah~' " He comes even closer.
"No thanks." I was practically bending my back at this point. But, he wouldn't stop!!!
" 'Ah~' "
No matter how much I tried, he wouldn't stop. He was as persistent as they can get. Probably.
"I-I thought you were into women, why are you feeding me- a male?!"
"Hm?" He came to a stop. My back was really starting to hurt. He wouldn't back off though!! "What are you talking about? I am into women. I'm just feeding a friend. There's nothing wrong with it." He says, fully believing what he said was true. Making it seem like I'm the weird one. How is that not strange!? I've never heard of something like this. The worst part is that he really thinks it's normal!! His voice as he said that, didn't waver at all.
I place my palm on my head. He backed off. Now I can finally allow my poor back to rest.
"Whatever. You can just have it for free. Here." I shove my bento closer to him.
" 'Ah~' " He closes his eyes and opens his mouth.
Ugh~ He's not gonna stop unless I do it.
I pick up a piece of octopus sausage with my chopsticks and put it in his mouth.
He opens his eyes the moment the sausage landed in his mouth while flinching. It was as if he was surprised.
He chews on it and eventually swallows it.
"You actually did it..." He says, surprised.
"Huh...?" What do you mean 'You actually did it...'?!!!!!!
"I was just kidding." He just grins.
"....." My brain completely froze.
"Oh, well. Here." He holds his bread out. " 'Ah~' "
"Stop kidding around."
"I'm not kidding."
I look at him. The look in his eyes were enough for me to know he actually wasn't kidding about it.
Ugh. Why do I have to do this?
I turn my head around and searched the area, checking if anyone is watching us. The last thing I want is to be caught doing 'this'.
I lean forward and take a bite of the bread.
I was surprised what was inside. It was chocolate.
"Pretty good, right?" He smiles.
"Yeah."
"Ah, right. What school did you pick?" He asks. I turn to him. "I saw you hand-in the form."
"...." I was silent. I close my bento since I was finished and place it on the wooden bench. I stand up and walk a couple of steps. I was now in front of him.
"Whats wrong?"
"I'm sorry!" I bow.
"Huh?"
"I've decided to go to Azayaka Gakuen. I'm sorry!" I felt a little... bad? Or is this guilt? I'm not too sure, but, I feel like I did something wrong. I had this feeling in my chest that said so, at the very least.
I look up at him.
He was looking at me with his mouth a little open.
"Azayaka, eh..." He says, softly while looking down. "Your sisters school, right?" He looks up at me.
I was still bowing, but I was also still looking at him. "Yeah."
"I see. I'm still going Daichi High."
It seems he really is going to Daichi High. Not that I doubted him or anything.
"C'mon, why are you still bowing?~ Get up already!" He pats my shoulders. It wasn't that gentle, but at the same time it wasn't very rough; painful.
I stop bowing. I was standing straight now. I turn my eyes downward.
It seems we'll be going to different schools. I thought to myself a little sad.
"Sit down. I need to tell you something." He says, fidgeting with his hands while his eyes were directed at the ground. It seems it was something important. I could tell by the way he those last words.
I take a seat at the same seat as before and turn my attention to him.
"...There is another reason why I chose Daichi High."
"What?"
"No, it's more like it's a reason I'm 'forced' to go there." He says, still fidgeting with his hands. What is he talking about? "...The truth is..." He turns to look at me. "I'm moving."
