Chapter 75.2 – Three Years of Time

In the middle of the day, Qi Yang sat in front of the dressing table while Lu Qipei drew on her eyebrows.

“You have to draw on it better. If it doesn’t look good, then I’m not going to go out.” Qi Yang threatened childishly, but there was a smile between her eyes.

Lu Qipei’s hands were very stable. Although their eyes occasionally met and she became distracted, she still managed to draw on Qi Yang’s eyebrows very beautifully. Her lips were also always filled with praise, “Ah Ning always looks beautiful anyways.”

After drawing on her eyebrows, she opened the bronze mirror to let Qi Yang look at herself. She was satisfied and displayed her countenance.

Immediately after getting up, Qi Yang pressed down Lu Qipei to sit on the makeup stool and smiled, “Now, it’s my turn to draw on you.”

When Qi Yang and Lu Qipei put on makeup, there were more than just eyebrows. Now that three years had passed, Lu Qipei had grown from a youth to a young woman. Her crowning ceremony1 was done just a month ago, representing that she was now an adult. However, her body was still as thin as a teenager, which was hard to justify. If her face also didn’t look any different, it could arouse suspicion.

Hence, since last year, Qi Yang had learned to help Lu Qipei change her face. It wasn’t some kind of god-like disguise skill; just drawing on her eyes and eyebrows to make them look more heroic, and making her facial lines look more rough. It was to gradually change her appearance from a teenager to a young man.

But alas, maybe it was an aftereffect of the previous life? Lu Qipei’s natural appearance was still Qi Yang’s favorite, but after changing her face, she looked more and more similar to the Lu Qicheng in the previous life.

So after putting on the makeup, Qi Yang always liked to pinch and rub Lu Qipei’s smooth chin for a while, just to make herself feel satisfied.

This time also, after she finished putting on the makeup for Lu Qipei, she rubbed her chin for a while, then leaned over and kissed her lips. Then she stood up and said, “I will put your hair crown for you again.”

Lu Qipei answered with a smile. Qi Yang looked at the person in the bronze mirror and though the she was not that similar to Lu Qicheng after all. Those clear eyes were still the same as when she first saw them many years ago, but the deep feelings inside had become stronger and stronger as time passed by.

Their eyes met in the bronze mirror, and their gazes became more and more tender.

If they were allowed to stick together, they would waste the whole day in the room. The people waiting outside seemed to have known this, so when they saw that the time was almost up, they gently knocked on the door. Zhi Ting’s inquiring voice immediately came, “Your Highness, Prince Consort, are you up yet?”

Qi Yang finally regained consciousness; she picked up the hair crown on the side and put it on Lu Qipei. Then she said, “Come in.”

Only then did Zhi Ting open the door and enter with a group of maids. It was not unusual to see the Princess and the Prince Consort wearing the crown when they entered the door. Three years had passed, and who didn’t know the sweet love between the couple by now? It was really not a surprise.

Qi Yang’s proceeded with familiar movements and soon finished taking care of Lu Qipei’s hair crown. Then, the maids helped her change her clothes and wash up.

The maids obviously worked much faster than the tow of them, and they finished cleaning up and dressing up in just a quarter of an hour. The time was not late yet when they stepped out of the room, and they could have a leisurely breakfast in the mansion.

Today was the Shangsi Festival2, a good time for outings and to drink in front of water.

Two days ago, Qi Yang and the other princesses were given an invitation, calling the kings3 and princesses for a banquet by the Qingshui river. The princes that had been granted king titles as well as the other princesses would all gather together. Even though Qi Yang weren’t close to them, she could not avoid such an event.

Plus, the peach blossoms would bloom by Qingshui River on March, so she and Lu Qipei would go there together sooner or later.

“No need to go too early. I’m not too familiar with them anyways.” Qi Yang continued saying, “When the peach blossoms in the mansion bloom, the ones by Qingshui river should also be blooming. Let’s take a look then.”

Lu Qipei nodded and smiled casually, “I picked up some wine brewing skills a few days ago, and now I want to collect some peach blossoms. How about I brew some peach blossom wine with you when we return?”

Qi Yang readily agreed, and the two walked out of the main courtyard while smiling.

When Lu Qipei glanced casually, she seemed to catch a glimpse of a small figure hiding behind a flower tree beside her. She looked back, and sure enough, she saw a small child shorter than her thighs hiding  behind a tree.

When she looked at her from a distance, the child shrank back and hid her head behind a tree. After a while, she poked her head out again, her big black eyes still looking at their direction.

Qi Yang noticed that Lu Qipei had stopped and looked at her, “What’s the matter?”

Lu Qipei withdrew her eyes and shook her head, saying, “It’s nothing. Let’s go.”

However, Qiyang had seen the little child hiding behind the tree. She frowned a little, then waved at her after thinking for a while. When she saw it, she immediately came out from behind the flower tree and ran to Qi Yang’s side.

The child was less than three years old. She stumbled as she ran there, and she had no one accompanying her. Fortunately, she didn’t fall along the way.

When she got close, the little bean looked up at them, her eyes bright and her face slightly red. Although she was still young, there was already a shadow of Lu Qipei between her eyes.

She gave the two of them a salute, then called out in a childish voice, “Your Highness, Uncle.”

Qi Yang’s heart uncontrollably turned soft. Although she knew the child’s identity and had a grudge against her father, when she looked at the face that looked like Lu Qipei, she couldn’t come to hate her at all.

Author notes:

Qi Yang (tsk tsk): Prince Consort is young but already two-faced. You’re like two different people on and off the bed.

Lu Qipei (blushing): Nonsense, I’m not like that!

Qi Yang (tsk tsk): I have never seen you blush in bed.

Lu Qipei (…): Can’t you talk decently!?

Ps: Qi Yang has been feeling good for three years, and hasn’t counterattacked yet…
