With every step I took in this old wooden building, the creaking stairs echoed in the apartment space. I proceeded towards the second floor, taking very slow and careful steps so as not to warn those on the upper floor. Fortunately, the shouting above drowned out the sounds coming from outside.
When I went up to the second floor and approached the room where the voices were coming from, 3 punk-looking men had cornered a young and beautiful woman inside. The woman was covered in a mess, but the uniform she was wearing was definitely a police uniform. Judging by their tattoos and tattered clothes, the men were just tramps with worthless lungs.
“Sons of bitches, is that the price of my kindness?” cried the woman, holding her ankle with one hand, apparently injured.
“Harper, Harper, you’ve never been nice to us.” The Mohawk-haired hoodlum shook his head in displeasure.
“Yes, Harper, you were too arrogant for a cop. You would search us wherever you saw us.” One of the other hoodlums got involved in the conversation.
“You were selling drugs to the entire neighborhood. Of course, I was going to search you!” exclaimed the young woman.
“Kehehe, that’s right,” the mohawk-haired concluded. “Anyway, we’ve got you now, Harper. It’s total chaos out there, so keep yelling all you want. No one will come to your aid.”
“Hmph, I’d rather kill myself than be your toy,” she said, holding the revolver from her waist to her temple. “I always keep the last bullet to myself.”
When I sensed the determination in her eyes to take her life, I knew I had to do something. I had to intervene before it was too late.
“Hey, don’t make things difficult. We both know you can’t do it.”
”Don’t put me in the same group with cowards like you," the woman said, moving her index finger to the trigger.
Now! I darted quickly into the room. I jumped behind the guy in the middle and hit him right on the head with my bat. With the impact of the blow, the man collapsed to the ground like a puppet with his strings cut.
Bam*
The sound of the attack echoed in the room. Everyone’s attention turned to me for a moment, but without giving them a chance, I turned my focus to the mohawk-haired twig on the left. The one who annoyed me the most was this asshole. He reminded me of a bastard from school.
“Stop-” he raised his hand, but before he could finish, I placed a solid blow in the face and knocked him down.
“Bastard!” The man behind me came at me with a yell and knocked me to the ground.

I fell to the ground in a bad position. The guy was sitting right in the middle of my back, restricting my mobility. Obviously, he was a seasoned fighter. I kept my composure and quickly looked for a way out. Unfortunately, my bat had fallen far away.
“Hehe, I have you now.” The man whispered in my ear menacingly.
I had the opportunity I had been waiting for. I slammed my elbow into the bastard’s nose, breaking it successfully.
“Agh,” he groaned, toppling over to the side.
As soon as I got rid of the weight on me, I jumped to my feet swiftly. Luckily, I got through this mess unscathed.
“Ugh, where did you come from, you bastard?” The punk, who was holding his nose in pain, was trying to get up. “I’ll kill you!”
I could see the anger in his eyes even from a kilometer away. Well, I fucked both of the bastard’s friends, and if I was, I’d probably be pissed, too.
”Your friends turned out to be quite weak. I poked them lightly with a stick." I mocked the guy.
“You killed them, you bastard!” He called out to his friends lying on the ground, “Enrique! Samuel! Get up, you bastards!”
Hearing what the man had said, I momentarily turned my attention to the two, lying motionless on the floor. The mohawk-haired guy I hit in the face seemed to breathe vaguely, but the first man’s condition looked pretty serious. A pool of blood gathered around his head.
“Shit! My hand must have slipped,” I said, showing my hand like a misbehaving child.
For some reason, I didn’t feel any guilt, probably because the god of adrenaline was helping me get through this ordeal. Two men were lying on the floor because of me. One of them was probably about to pay for the ticket at death’s gate, but I didn’t care about all that. There was only one thing on my mind at that moment, and that was;
“Two of them are gone, and one is left. Tell me, how do I kill you?”
