It was now 1:20 pm. Just enough time to make it to the cinema and get decent seats. It doesn’t have to be the back row, but I don’t want to be so close to the screen that I accidentally get isekied into the movie and have to aid the main character in whatever folly they have gotten themselves into.
Now at the cinema, we showed the attendants our tickets and were let into the place.
It was packed with students. Everyone must be here because of the half-price-off, just as I predicted.
This crowded place is already draining my energy a bit too much, I think I need to plug myself into my bed and recharge my social battery right away.
Deciding to take the lead Hisoka said, “We need to get food, but our seats are more important.”
Exactly, now let’s get us non neck straining seats and I will accept nothing other than that.
Fukami replied, “Some of us will stand in the line to the concession stand and the rest will save the seats.”
Sounds like a very solid plan, so Hisoka and Matsukura can both do that and I can rest my legs.
Unfortunately that wasn’t the plan as Hisoka volunteered himself and me to tackle the food issue.
I’m still wondering how Hisoka can speak for me, but what’s done is done. Matsukura and Fukami went in the direction of the screening room while Hisoka and I stood in line.
I fiddled with my smart watch, sorting through my emails while I stood there, as a way to preoccupy myself.
A little while I heard a voice say, “Imoto-kun we should get to the movie soon.”
Breaking focus from my screen and I saw, Imoto and Yasuma holding hands, it’s clear that they are on a date right now. From the information floating around class these two have been a couple since middle school. Quite the sturdy love if you ask me.
After a while, we finally got to the front of the line and ordered jumbo popcorn and a large drink for Hisoka, a hot dog with fries for Matsukura, and medium popcorn and drink for Fukami. I would probably settle on a sandwich and drink, nothing else sounded too appealing.
After getting the food, the both of us headed toward the screening room and entered it. Using my smart watch as a light source we stumbled our way through the dimly lit theater and found the pair. They are sitting in the middle row so that’s a good enough spot.
While distributing the food and I took my seat and reclined in the soft chair
Hisoka looked at me with excitement on his face and said, “You’re about to witness a masterpiece, so pay very close attention.”
Doubt entertained my mind once those words were uttered but I did pay good money for this so it better be at least decent.
Shortly after the movie started I didn’t think it was too interesting, due to the zombie genre being a little lackluster, I was caught off guard due to the name of the movie which was “Darkest Night.”

That isn’t a fitting name for this type of movie. Something like “13 reasons why I rather kill myself then try to survive a zombie apocalypse” would be a more appropriate title.
If Tachibana were here she would most definitely be ripping this movie and Hisoka to shreds right now.
Another seven minutes of exposition from the main character isn’t helping the movie’s case, overall I am bored out of my mind right and it hasn’t even been a good sixteen minutes yet.
So I think taking a quick power nap is probably my best option right now and as my eyes closed; I had to reopen them after 30 seconds because someone screamed.
I hope that was a female, because if it came from a male I would recommend he sings Soprano.
An hour and a half passed, and the movie was finally over.
My doubts were proven correct after I witnessed that train wreck of a movie; I currently want to write a strongly worded letter to the director of this film.
Hisoka asked, “So that was great right?”
I opened her mouth and then closed it at the same speed, deciding to swallow my words for now.
Only Matsukura was as hyped as him during the movie, I think I saw Fukami texting someone else in the middle of it.
The only reason I stayed awake was a mixture of screaming and not wanting to waste my money.
Standing outside of the cinema, everyone went their separate ways. Fukami stopped me and said, “Today went by smoothly.”
“I will admit that I had fun today, expect for the movie bit. I think I’ll have to look at a quality film to cleanse my eyes when I head back into my dorm.
“I’m surprised that you didn’t invite Tachibana as well, seeing that you guys speak.”
Inviting Tachibana somewhere and her accepting it? I don’t think I have the skills required to pull off that level of convincing and may never attain it, so that’s a day which will never come.
Placing my hands in my hoodie’s front pocket, I replied, “That idea did pop into my head, but I decided against it. Tachibana is someone who enjoys the company of herself and I don’t think that will change for a while.”
Fukami winked at me and said, “Everything is a progress after all.”
Everything is progress after all? In what context does she mean truly mean.
