Title: My Son Might be a Villain
“Yes, yes. Thank you, Son!” said Su Ran as she smiled and blinked at Su Han.
Su Ran picked up a shrimp coated in spicy and numbing sauce, put it inside of her mouth, and quickly squinted in content.
Do all western food restaurants make such good Chinese food? This was amazing!
Lu Invisible Shao watched the interaction between the mother and son from across the table. Watching Su Ran’s curved eyes, the light in Lu Shao’s eyes softened and there was a hint of a smile on his lips.
Looking at another plate of shrimp in front of him, Lu Shao seemed to be pondering over something.
After a quick pause, he mimicked Su Han, pulled the plate of shrimp in front of himself, donned a pair of gloves, and started peeling.
For sure he was not as familiar at the task as Su Han. Nevertheless, combining that with his composed look, he still made quite an attractive sight.
Glancing over at the kiddo who was staring at him displeased and alert out of the corners of his eyes, Lu Shao raised his brows and asked, “You got a problem?”
“No.” Su Han’s voice seemed to have stuttered briefly.
“I just wanted to remind you that you don’t need to do this if you don’t know how to do it. But, to the extent that you are going to do it, you should do a better job at it,” said Su Han with contempt as he pointed at one of the shrimp in the plate in front of Lu Shao.
Sure enough, there was no shell left on the shrimp with the exception of one leg left dangling from its belly…
Lu Shao’s lips twitched a little. Su Ran, who was happily eating away, also paused for a few seconds.
She almost wanted to stomp on Su Han’s foot and told him that: Son, we are not home right now. Don’t be so rude. You would offend people.
Then again, thinking about the expensive, white pair of shoes that Su Han had on today, Su Ran finally sighed and gave up on that idea.
“Em, that. Well, shrimp legs are a good source of calcium. Haha,” said Su Ran to Lu Shao awkwardly but politely.
“Oh, Mr. Lu, you enjoy eating your shrimp this way as well?” asked Su Ran out of the blue.
“Enjoy it how?” asked Lu Shao.
“Emmm. You peel them all first, saving all the meat, then eat them all in one go,” said Su Ran.
Even though her purpose was just to change the subject, but seeing the little pile of shrimp meat that was beginning to form in front of Lu Shao, Su Ran was still quite surprised.

Lu Shao: He didn’t even like shrimp.
Lu Shao did not answer Su Ran’s question. When he finished peeling the very last shrimp cleanly, he removed his gloves and pushed the entire plate to in front of Su Ran.
Su Ran, “!!!”
What just happened?
“You don’t like the boiled ones?” asked Lu Shao dubiously when he noticed the stiffness in Su Ran.
“Ugh, no, that’s not it…”
How the shrimp was prepared was not the point here, was it?
Screamed Su Ran in her mind.
Here she thought Lu Shao enjoyed his shrimp the same way as the two of them. As it turned out, he was peeling them for Su Han and herself!
Welp, that was a bit awkward.
Fooling Su Han (child labor) to peel for her was one thing. He was her son; she felt no guilty conscience making him do the dirty work for her.
But letting someone outside of the family to do that… that made it a bit awkward.
Su Han was fine. The two of them were father and son after all.
As for herself and this Mr. Lu, they were strangers who knew each other by name at best!
“Em, that was your hard work. I can’t possibly eat them,” said Su Ran as she gave him an awkward smile. “You shouldn’t have. Why don’t you enjoy them yourself?”
Noticing the hint of embarrassment and rejection on Su Ran, Lu Shao was taken aback a little. As though figuring something out in the next second, he said to Su Ran, “I apologize. I didn’t think it through.”
Having said that, Lu Shao moved the plate away and did not touch the other plates of shrimp.
