Chapter 380 - So, what was it that the father and son were hiding from her? (2)
“Oh? Is it?” Su Ran woke up all of a sudden and looked up.
Sure enough, displayed on the big screen was Lu Shao walking up to the podium in his full suit.
Su Ran had a little bit of an evil thought earlier. She wondered whether Lu Shao would be as nervous as she was when he got on stage.
Apparently, she had overthought it.
The man on the screen was calm and nonchalant as though he was at a meeting with his subordinates.
That being side, Su Ran quite looked forward to Mr. Lu’s ad hoc performance.
Unexpectedly, Su Ran almost choked on the very first thing that came out of Lu Shao.
“I don’t have anything to share on the subject on educating our children.
“When it came to grades, it had a lot to do with the children’s talent and their self-control.”
Su Ran felt her face twitched from the righteousness of Lu Shao’s words.
Oh, child’s daddy, how can you be so blunt!
Sure, Su Ran, too, feel that the reason Su Han could do so well in school was mainly because he was smart and had high IQ.
But, ol' Mr. Lu, just because that was the truth didn’t mean that you could just bluntly say that your child got good grades because he was smart and mature.
You should at least consider the feelings of the other parents, eh?
Sensing the look from Mother Du WenTao and those around her, Su Ran felt embarrassed and wanted to straight up say that she did not know this gentleman who was talking on stage right now.
Luckily, Mr. Lu’s next sentence saved himself and the situation.
“Grades are certain important but they are not everything. Each individual has their own strength……”
Mr. Lu followed that with some concise and brilliant speech and even Su Ran almost bought into it.
So what was it almost?
Had Su Ran not caught the hint of pride, er, more complacency, in his eyes when he said the first thing, Su Ran very well would buy into what Lu Shao had said afterward.

“Mother Su Han, I felt that what Father Su Han said made a lot of sense. Say, did I put too much pressure on Du WenTao? Perhaps I should leave him some room to develop in areas that he is good at?”
“Er, I think that would depends on what Du WenTao wants,” said Su Ran, feeling awkward.
In her mind, however, she wanted to tell her to not be fooled by Su Han’s father.

After the speeches of the few parents, the principal came back up to talk about the extra-curricular activities that the students needed to take care of over the winter holidays as well as their safety before he announced that the event was adjourned.
After the parent-teacher conference was over, Mother Du WenTao excitedly invite Su Ran and her family to go to dinner together so that she would prick Mr. Lu’s mind some more.
Su Ran was going to say yes but Lu Shao declined the invitation.
“What is it? Do you have something else going on in the afternoon?” asked Su Ran as she looked at Lu Shao in surprised after they had parted ways with Mother Du WenTao.
Lu Shao’s lips curved a little as he pulled Su Ran into his arms upon hearing that.
“Have you forgotten what you had promised me, Mrs. Lu?” whispered Lu Shao into Su Ran’s ear as he lowered his head.
“Hmm?” Su Ran was taken aback a little first when she heard what Lu Shao had said and then she recalled what they had agreed upon.
“You said you will make a trip back home with me,” said Lu Shao. He then added, “Su Han had already finished his examinations and the parent-teacher conference was also over.”
All of those were true, but……
“Today?” asked Su Ran as she looked at Lu Shao and blinked.
Wasn’t that a bit rushed?
Su Ran had already accepted Lu Shao’s existence over the recent period of time and it was no big deal to go home with Lu Shao but, he should have at least given her a heads up earlier so she could be prepared.
“Yes, today,” said Lu Shao definitively.
“You sure this didn’t just occur to you?” asked Su Ran as she raised her brows.
“No.” He had been preparing for this for a long time.
Pausing a little, Lu Shao added, “The others from the Lu family had already arrived.”
Su Ran, “!”
