Chapter 379 - So, what was it that the father and son were hiding from her? (1)

“So it will be Father Su Han who speaks today?”

Du WenTao’s mother, sitting inside of the classroom of Class #8, asked Su Ran.

“Em, that’s right.” Su Ran nodded. There was regret in her eyes.

Su Ran had been very much looking forward to being the representative of the parents and speak in front of the entire school.

When it came down to it, however, Su Ran learned, to her fearful surprise, that she had stage fright!

She, the one who had received musical awards from all over the world, would never had thought that she would have stage fright when it came to speaking in front of all the parents of her son’s school.

Even Su Ran wanted to look down on herself.

As such, as far as her family was concerned, the glorious duty fell upon Mr. Lu.

Du WenTao had no idea that Su Ran was crying inside. She even thought it that made perfect sense for Lu Shao to speak. After all, these kinds of speeches required one to stand for a long time.

“Oh right.” As though something had occurred to her, Zhou Qin leaned into Su Ran again and, with her voice lowered, asked Su Ran with concern, “How have you been sleeping lately?”

“Oh? Quite good,” said Su Ran. She had been in the sleep well and eat well state as of late.

Had she not been tagging along and taking a walk around their apartment when Lu Shao brought their son to the basketball court downstairs, Su Ran felt that she didn’t even need to leave their apartment at all.

“That’s good,” said Zhou Qin as she nodded and lamented in a low voice. “Unlike me.”

When she was pregnant with Du WenTao, her pregnancy was not pleasant. Others tend to sleep well, except when it came to her. She vomited a lot during the early stage and, when she finally stopped vomiting, she started having cramps. It was quite awful.

She wondered whether Su Ran had entered into her gestation period yet. Should be about that time by now.

Hearing what Du WenTao’s mother was saying, Su Ran wanted to ask her if she was having insomnia.

Finally, Zhou Qin went on to say, “Oh right, someone in my dance group shared a recipe. I took a look at it and it seemed quite nice. I even downloaded it. Let me share it with you.”

Having said that, Zhou Qin quickly sent a document that looked like it had been cleaned up over to Su Ran.

“Recipes?” Su Ran’s eyes lit up when she heard that.

With her son being home the last few days and that she had a taster (lab rat), Su Ran had regained her interest in recipes.

Looking at the document that Du WenTao’s mother had sent over, Su Ran was somewhat excited when she opened up the document.

Candied dates and hemp root chicken soup, chicken blood duck blood soup, peanut and pork leg soup, bamboo shoot and mushroom anti-vomiting porridge……

Su Ran raised her brows when she saw the names.

She didn’t know that Mother Du WenTao was that into nutritious food.

Then again, one could always use nutritious food in the winter time. She could certainly try to make some of these dishes for Lu Shao.

Her son was still young and wouldn’t need any of these.

“Why, thank you.” Su Ran thanked Zhou Qin with a smile.

“Oh, I just happened to come across them and thought that you might find them useful. No need to thank me,” said Zhou Qin, unbothered by that. “Oh right, are you more into sour or spicy food lately?”

“Hmm, either / or?” said Su Ran after she thought about it a little.

As they talked, the speakers from the screen in front of them started to broadcast.

“The school-wide parent-teacher conference is about to commence. Please remained quiet.” The class teacher stood up and reminded everyone.

The first person walking up to the podium was the school principal.

“Good morning, fellow parents. I am very happy that you can all make this school-wide parent-teacher conference. First thing first……”

The principal droned on and on. Even though Su Ran had expected that, it still made her sleepy.

Ahem, alright, she finally learned that her son going to class every day was no small feat.

When Su Ran felt that she was about to doze off, she sudden heard Zhou Qin calling out to her.

“Mother Su Han, it’s your family’s turn now.”
