Chapter 29.1 - About University 5 Part 1

Yang Mo continued to tutor Mi Shu, up to her entrance exams.

After this incident, Hao Yan as well as Mi Shu’s mother invited him over to accompany Mi Shu during the last spurt period.

Although there was the intention of tutoring Mi Shu in his heart, but he was a very realistic person who usually did not like to dabble into emotional matters. Most of what he did still fell onto how he would benefit from it.

Taking into account that he was going to face his own finals soon, Yang Mo weighed the situation and planned on rejecting it…however, he had another fight with Old Yang on the phone recently. It was so unbearable to the point that Yang Mo had the idea of not returning home even during the summer break – so how to survive on his own would be a problem.

Hao Yan promised to add more pay.

Yang Mo agreed immediately.

He had passed midterms before, so what are finals to him?

Yang Mo thought that way – and that was what Lu You Qi referred to “animal language”, that is, not words that should be uttered by humans.

Mi Shu will have her exams in early June. Five days ahead of that, she said she had almost fully adjusted to reassure Yang Mo. He then returned to his long-lost class group again.

Yang Mo was about to start a series of exams of all his subjects, one another after another. He got so busy that he brushed aside the thought of Han Shi Yu.

Lu You Qi, who had not seen Han Shi Yu in a long while, thought it was weird and more or less confirmed that his roommate might have had some conflict with this younger junior of his. He couldn’t help but ask, “Did you bully your little junior too harshly that he’s ignoring you?”

Yang Mo buried himself in revising for finals, and his mood was already like a bundle of dry wood as Lu You Qi lit it up with a match.

Yang Mo said, annoyed, “Don’t mention him to me.”

“What’s wrong? Is it his fault or were you the annoying one again?”

Yang Mo: “Him.”

Lu You Qi clicked his tongue a few times, picked up the phone and shook it a few times. “Enough of that, stop being stubborn and refusing to admit your mistake. Han Shi Yu told me already.”

Yang Mo’s pen stopped, blotting out a puddle of ink. He turned his head and asked, “What did he say.”’

“Oh, you’re concerned?” Lu You Qi raised an eyebrow and said, “Finally realized you’re not human?”

Yang Mo: “…….”

He held it in and asked again, “…What exactly did he say?”

Lu You Qi raised an eyebrow, “I lied to you.”

On the fourth floor of the north building at Seastone Apartment, a certain Mr. Lu suffered a very wonderful beating.

Yang Mo ran into Lin Chu at the supermarket.

On the shelf was the last packet of Jin Mai Lang brand wide noodles.

Yang Mo and Lin Chu reached their hands over at the same time. Then, they looked at each other and laughed.

Lin Chu: “Long time no see.”

Yang Mo: “I’ve been busy lately, so I didn’t have time to go over.”

Lin Chu smiled, “Mr. Cheng kept bringing you up.”

Yang Mo snorted, “It’s good enough that he’s not pointing his finger and scolding me.”

While the two of them talked, Yang Mo noticed Lin Chu had bought another pile of instant noodles and asked about his health.

Lin Chu shrugged his shoulders and explained, “It’s not like I have the time to go to the cafeteria. And I’m not used to ordering takeout.”

Lin Chu glanced at the wide selection in front of him and continued, “I plan on eating every flavor of instant noodles before I graduate. It can be a nice conversation topic at least.”

Yang Mo found it amusing and asked, “How much progress do you have so far?”

Lin Chu laughed, “About half of this shelf.”

Yang Mo: “Which one do you think is the best?”

He pointed at the one both of them had wanted to take earlier on, the last package on the shelf, “This one.”

Yang Mo: “What a coincidence.

Lin Chu joked, “We can be considered competitors then.”

When spending time with someone similar to you, it would be really easy for your emotions to be influenced.

Yang Mo felt his mood lighten up with just this short conversation. He said, “Doesn’t Xie Chen Min bring you dinner?”

As soon as those casual words left his mouth, Yang Mo froze.

He frowned, his brain suddenly becoming a heated mush. He doubted his own eardrums.

Why did he ask such a question?

And why would he think that person would bring Lin Chu his dinner?

Lin Chu didn’t expect Yang Mo to know Xie Chen Min. He blinked a few times before laughing a little, “The distance between the west campus and east campus is quite far. Coming over a few times occasionally is fine, but it’s too much trouble in the long run.”

Lin Chu then asked, “How do you know him?”

Yang Mo: “…I know his roommate.”’

Lin Chu: “I see.”

“I heard…” Yang Mo shifted his attention to the bags of instant noodles on the shelf, resisting the urge to squeeze a packet and said, “…you guys are together now.”

After a while, Lin Chu said frankly, “En.”

Yang Mo still accidentally crushed a corner of the mushroom stewed chicken noodles after all. When he came back to his senses, he had put that packet in in hands.

Lin Chu looked at the green-colored packet, as if he recalled some memories and couldn’t help but say, “…You like this flavor?”

Yang Mo rubbed the tip of his nose and said, “Yeah.”

Lin Chu didn’t explain too much but continued to stock up on his food supply. Yang Mo wasn’t expecting him to be so indifferent. He followed beside him with a heavy heart, also taking a few more goods by hand.

Lin Chu: “You seem to have something to say to me?”

Yang Mo stopped walking and looked at him.

He thought he would feel very awkward when he met Lin Chu again, but it seemed like that didn’t happen at all. Things remained the same.

Blood rushed to Yang Mo’s head as he mumbled, “How do you distinguish between friendship and love?”

Lin Chu blinked, then laughed.

“If you feel like kissing him.” Lin Chu said, “Then that’s it.”

Yang Mo blurted out, “Absolutely not.”

The air froze.

Lin Chu: “?”

Yang Mo: “……”

Lin Chu: “Are you…”

Yang Mo: “No.”

As if he understood something, Lin Chu said, “Oh.”

Then, as he walked all the way to the cashier, a smile was hanging on his face. After squirming around for a bit, Yang Mo finally managed to explain with much difficulty, “Really, there isn’t.”

The cashier: “Sir, you can’t find what you wanted to buy?”

Yang Mo: “It’s alright.”

Lin Chu: “I know.”

At this point, what truly mattered wasn’t the answer he received. but why he was obsessing over this question instead.

“If the other party wants to, and you don’t feel disgusted by it,” Lin Chu said, “Then it probably counts too.”

By the time it was Yang Mo’s turn to check out, the cashier lady had been staring at him while holding up the code reader for a long time. “Sir?”

When Yang Mo snapped out of his daze the second time, he had taken an armful of good without realizing.

He recalled his poor e-wallet amount and awkwardly said to the cashier, “I’ll go and return some…”

Lin Chu was holding a large plastic bag filled with goods, propped up on the railing outside waiting for him. He called out, “I can pay for you?”

“It’s alright, thank you.” Yang Mo replied, “If you have something to tend to, you can go ahead first.”

“Alright.” Lin Chu smiled and waved whatever was in his hand at him. “All the best to you.”

Yang Mo squinted and realized that in his hand was none other than the last box of wide noodles from earlier on.

Yang Mo: “…”
