Chapter 2: Poor Mizuki

[The next day]

|Note:  all dialogue said by Ritorushisu until she gets to the hokage monument is said in her head.|

Damn, where am I?  I don’t think light was supposed to stream into my den this way.  Ugh.  Well wherever I am, I need to get back to my den, the natural energy there will mix with my chakra to heal me faster.(R)

Tell the hokage she’s awake.  Don’t try to move hun.  Your legs are broken, your internal organs are damaged, you are covered in bruises, and your tendons are barely holding out.(Nurse)

I just need to wait for her to look away.  I can still use my chakra, can still vanish, can still reach my den.  When I am healed, I can go back to protecting my brother.  I get the feeling that if his host dies with him still sealed, he will disappear for a long time.  So I have to protect this place, have to protect my brother’s host, have to protect my brother.  These injuries are nothing.(R)

*sigh*  Maybe her twitching was just my imagination.  Might as well go see other patients.(N)

*door shuts*

Finally.  Anyways, although I can’t directly utilize my chakra through the seal, I can use my host to manipulate my chakra.  And since I saw someone doing this before, I can do this.  Gyaku Kuchiyose no Jutsu!(R)

Where is she?  I know that she is awake, and I suspect that her den is up here somewhere, but I can’t sense her ch-  Ah, there she is.  And she is in far worse condition than I thought.  It’s amazing that she managed to get here on her own.(H)

Gotta get to my den.  I’ll heal faster there than I will in that cold, bright place.  Just a couple of feet more…  Is that the goddamn CURRENT HOKAGE STANDING ABOVE THE ENTRANCE TO MY DEN!?!?!?  Let’s just hope he didn’t notice me, and that he doesn’t notice me as I sneak into my den.(R)

It’s rich with natural energy, there’s a decently sized empty space under us, and almost nothing comes up here, so I am left alone.(R)

*the shadow clone goes poof, and Hiruzen gets the clone’s memories*

Canon continues as normal, with the exception of Konoha's situation being stable rather than getting worse, up until we see Mizuki trick Naruto into stealing the Scroll of Seals.  This time, once Iruka gets hurt, he notices a small fox, the one he had been feeding for a bit now.  He lays against a tree trunk, then sees Naruto summon an uncountable number of shadow clones correctly and the fox get covered by a red chakra cloak and grow another tail.  Naruto proceeds to beat the shit out of Mizuki, and he loses his family jewels to the fox’s attack.  When they are done, Mizuki isn’t even conscious, and he looks like one massive bruise.  With the exception of his nuts, as they were slashed off by the fox, who promptly cauterized the wound she made with fire so that he can’t simply have his nuts regrown with Iryo ninjutsu.  For defeating Mizuki, Naruto is made a genin by Iruka, and Hiruzen is alerted to what the fox did.  He decides to have another chat with her.
