CHAPTER 5:

After a few more encounters with the dungeon's inhabitants, the pair safely reached a colossal door.

Most of the monsters they met were higher level than them, but thanks to Yakiro's intellect, the pair had successfully avoided multiple direct confrontations with those beasts. They also encountered traps and baiting routes, which in case they were just normal adventurers, they would be in troubled already.

Then stood above them was the mentioned colossal door. It had the same pattern as the entrance door, which consisted of multiple tornado patterns twisted together. However, it possessed a much darker color, and on top of that, behind that door stemmed an abnormal atmosphere that would chill a normal person to the bone.

"Yomina, this is the "first" end of this dungeon - The Treasure Room. Inside this area stored various valuable items, which, are both powerful and can be sold for a lot of money."

Yakiro said, while Yomina's eyes flashed.

However, it was not as simple as opened the door and walked right in.

"There will be a gate guardian of this treasure, and it will appear right after I open this door. It is called [The Grim Spider], which was at Level 40. Considering our stats right now, I can say that one of its swing is a total game over for us.

"Wait that seems too dangerous. W... Why don't we just back off, and call this a day?"

Yakiro let out a wicked laugh:

"Kahahaha you forgot why we are here? An explorer will never go back from a dungeon empty handed !"

"Yeah but not only your hands will be empty, but your whole body will be empty too after that monster *kaboom* you."

"Don't worry !"

Yakiro pointed to his head and continued.

"If we cannot defeat it by force, we will win it by our mind. That spider is not a clever creature, and it has weaknesses too. There are 2 weak points - The top of its head, and the tip of its left fang. Strike one point, and you deal fatal damage. Strike both points at the same time, and it guarantees a certain death."

"O... Okay, so there is a way to defeat it..."

Not letting Yomina finish her sentence, Yakiro swiftly approached the dangerous dark blue door.

"Yes, and I'll open it now. Are you ready Yomina?"

"OF COURSE NOTTTTTT--" The terrorized Yomina screamed. "--but I guess there is no other way."

With a push from Yakiro's arm, the door slowly opened. The creek that echoed from its hinges brought along an unsettling feeling.

The area behind it was dark. Nothing was visible.

Except for the eight glowing ghost-blue dots that were approaching them, along with the creepy "Creeeeekkk" sound that was frequently echoed from the dark.

The gate guardian sprouted its legs out of the door, and walked as a predator on a hunt.

In front of the pair was the colossal [Grim Spider]. Possessing eight black, hairy legs and two black pointy but uneven fangs, it continuously swung it around like a showcase of  its overwhelming strength. The gigantic spider was three times higher than a normal person, and the width? It required the area equal to a whole floor of a house just to be able to fully contain it inside.

On the top of its head and on the tip of its left fang, two glowing red dots were shining. These must be the weak points that Yakiro mentioned.

"Ahhhh...I..t's..so...huge.." Yomina stepped back.

"YOMINA, LIE DOWN !"

Yakiro shouted.

The giant spider swatted its two front legs towards the human in front, making the air around it "whoosh" sharply. Its rock-hard and sharp-edged limbs cut through the bottom of the rocky pillars nearby just like a knife cut through a banana, collapsing the pillars immediately. 

Yakiro and Yomina would definitely be sliced in half if those limbs swiped through them. Luckily, they had lied just in time to dodge the fatal attack.

Not letting the pair to rest for any minutes, the gate guardian immediately leapt with all of its might, sprouted all of its 8 pole-shaped legs downwards and started stabbing continuously on to the ground before itself. The humans dodged, dodged, dodged, and the limbs that missed their targets instead stabbed deep into the stone wall. However, Grim Spider took them out even faster than Yakiro could prepare himself. Resided on the wall was a series of deep punctured holes created from the spider's legs.

It had successfully cornered Yakiro and Yomina in just a few seconds.

Not mentioning that they were under-leveled, they had absolutely no tool to fight back the spider. Therefore, what they could do was just to retreat back until they find away to fight it back.

But sooner or later, if they didn't do anything, they would end up being inside that monster's mouth.

 Yomina casted Fast Footwork on Yakiro at the same time he dashed straight to the spider. He ran around and around to attract its attention. Thanks to the boosting ability, Yakiro could avoid the dangerous legs at ease.

"Yomina ! Lift up that large rock !"

Yomina turned to the way Yakiro was pointing, and noticed a giant boulder. She understood what Yakiro was going to do, and she casted Levitation on the boulder.

"Here we go !"

Yakiro dashed directly to the area below the elevated rock.

The Grim Spider might be exceptionally strong.

But it was not really clever.

It kept on chasing Yakiro, and did not notice the massive boulder above its head.

"Cancel Levitation."

 Yomina firmly declared, and the spider's head was critically bashed from the overloaded weight of the rock.

It shook it head continously and its body slightly bended, but was still able to crawl on the ground. It whooshed its legs aimlessly so as to kill the targets in front of it.

Yakiro ran back to Yomina.

"The last weakspot is its fang, Yomina. Another boulder should do the work."

"Thanks. Leave it to me." 

Yomina smiled and casted Levitation on another nearby giant rock with roughly the same size as the previous boulder.

"ROOT !"

One back leg of the gate guardian was rooted, destroying the balance it was having. The monster struggled while waving its head nonstop to try to regain the balance.

However, its left fang was exposed to the ceiling of the dungeon.

Right under the giant rock.

"Cancel Levitation."

Yomina declared.

"GRIEKKKKKKKKKKK"

With one final shriek, the colossal monsters fell to it legs, and started to disintegrate into small particles as the red spots on its body stopped glowing. It had been truly defeated by the intelligent people whose Level was much lower than itself.

"Huff...huff...Is it... over?" The tired Yomina panted, and immediately sit on a nearby stone. This battle had drained too much of her stamina, but the joy did not fade away from her sweating face.

"We have taken it down, Yomina...."

"Ahaha we did it ! All thanks to your great leadership ! You knew exactly what to do !"

"Haha no, it was because of your skills. Who thinks that we can kill a giant monster without any offensive abilities right? Good job Yomina !"

"Ehehe you flattered me. Without your direction, I wouldn't know how to handle it"

"Well the most important thing is that we defeated it...."

Yakiro walked towards his companion and raised his thumb up.

"...as a team !"

Yomina widened her eyes in surprise, and replied with a huge smile.

"Yes ! As a team !"

It was her first time to conquer a dungeon with a teammate. Although the area was dangerous, and the final boss got out of their element, it was their huge success. What a truly hidden dungeon, everything there was overleveled and unexpectable.

She was overjoyed.

Hearing that reliable voice knocked Yomina out of her negative mind.

Therefore, when he was in control of Barsackra, he did put some treasures in the dungeon in case there was anyone who discovered the area, so as not to raise any suspicion. No curse, of course.

To prove that the items were harmless, Yakiro even took a crystal staff, which Yomina had been sticking her green eyes on since their entered the Treasure Room, and shoved it to her hand.

Their face was just an inch away from each other. Eyes were meeting eyes. Nose were meeting nose...

The already red face of Yomina had shifted to a much stronger crimson tone in just a mere second, as if she just wanted to dig a hole and jumped right into it."

But for Yakiro, he just only playfully teased her with his evil grin again.

"KYAAAAAA NOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!"
