“Then, I’ll see you tomorrow.” Yoonshin wished Sehun good night then finally let go of the other’s hand.
Yoonshin stepped through the glass doors of Building C and quickly hopped onto the elevator. He waved enthusiastically to Sehun before he completely disappeared with the closing of the doors.
Standing blankly, Sehun looked down at the hand that Yoonshin had held moments ago.
Yet again, Yoonshin toppled the logical structure of his life. Sehun had thought that dating was utterly useless and for fools who habitually wasted time, but for once, he wanted to try it out sincerely. After his switch was pressed on after persistent restraint and patience, he went completely out of control.
As swiftly as catching a disease, Sehun was already standing in the deep end before he knew it.
Sehun sighed deeply. It wasn’t as bad as before, but a strange migraine pulsed in his temple.
Even when he squeezed his eyes shut, the afterimage of Yoonshin haunted his vision.
Act 13
A black sedan stood parked in a shady and empty lot surrounded by scraggly trees. Sehun sat in its driver seat. He loosened the tie that was throttling the shirt collar of his prim three-piece suit. The bluish silken tie became slightly disheveled within his vest.
Although he told Yoonshin that he didn’t use a personal driver between home and work because it was his only personal time, that was an ostensible reason. He used this free time to meet his private investigators. That was partly why he never rode a flamboyant supercar instead of his usual black sedan. He needed to avoid things that would catch attention.

Tap, tap.
His long fingers tapped the steering wheel rhythmically. After several seconds, a similar-looking black sedan appeared. The vehicle slowly came to a halt next to Sehun’s car. Sehun rolled down his window and glanced to his left. The passenger window rolled down, and someone greeted Sehun before handing him a flat envelope. “Good morning, sir.”
Sehun took the envelope and then asked, “How much is in it?”
“For starters, the recent activities of Director Jeongwon Yoo of Soohan Holdings and Director Ikyung Do of Soohan Gallery are there. I included brief reports of the people they met during those activities. I excluded records that could easily get me into deep trouble if I got caught—like the company’s financial trends. If you need more in-depth information… To be honest, the security in the financial companies is quite tricky,” the investigator said passively.
Irked, Sehun replied, “Is it time to switch investigators?”
The other man shook his head immediately. “It’s not that I can’t, I’m just saying it won’t be easy. I can investigate it, but as you know, the fees for a large company like Soohan are steep. I would need to hire a skilled and experienced hacker. Should I dig in deeper?”
“I’ll look through this first, then I’ll contact you if I need additional information. Anyways, good work.” Sehun waved his hand, and the man bowed. The two raised their windows at the same time. The car with the informant left first. Then alone, Sehun took out the memory card in the envelope and connected it to the spare phone in his glove box, looking through the contents of the card.
Sehun couldn’t sit still. He was extremely bothered by what Mihee said. She passed off the buzz about the rocky relationship between Soohan Group’s second son and his wife as a mere rumor, but Sehun couldn’t. Yoonshin’s attitude was questionable for it not to be a big deal.
After looking through all the information, the circumstances about Yoonshin’s sister were truly out of the ordinary.
