Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Thump thump, Thump thump. His heart rate steadily rises. A drawn out breath later he smoothly opens his eyes. Launching off his back foot he sprints to the edge, his laughter drowned out by the nearby waterfall. Leaping off as his right foot lands on the rough stone edge.

 

“CANNON BALL!” Max yells in mid-air. 

 

Max shuts his eyes before splashing into the water, breaching seconds later he catches his breath. Opening his eyes before they fully clear, he scrunches them tightly. Saltwater stings his eyes and coats his tongue. ‘What the…’ He thinks in his head. 

 

Dark ocean water fills his view. Dumb founded at what he sees, he ignores the pain as he rubs his stinging eyes. Open water surrounds him. Investigating the coast line he can't detect any land masses. Helplessness drowns his consciousness, until a blue blox floods his view.

‘Huh… it's just like those web novels I read. Would rather not start in an ocean though.’

 

Instinctively he felt like he could move about a cup of water at a time, and with plenty of water around him he got easily distracted.

An hour later Max’s is out of energy completely. ‘I don’t think I’ve ever swam for this long before.’

After reaching 25 in Swimming and 25 in Water Magic he felt more natural in the water, but he was still out of energy. ‘I could just float on my back and rest for a while’. Eyes closed and body relaxed he begins drifting in the ocean. As he is about to drift to sleep his head bangs into a solid object.

A raised metal platform with a door frame in the center stands alone in the ocean.. He pulls himself on the outcropping of metal and sighs. ‘Thankfully I didn’t fall asleep while in the water, that could have been disastrous.’ As his consciousness fades.
