Waking up from the sun shining in his eyes, Max yawns. ‘What time is it?’

 

[It is currently 6:02 AM]

 

‘Wow what a helpful System’ He stretches out his sore limbs when he remembers where he slept last night. ‘System can you tell me about the dungeon you created?’

 

[Dungeons created by the system will always be one lower level than your current, Therefore this dungeons level is 0. You can also teleport directly to any System created dungeon.] 

 

‘How easy is it to die in dungeons?’

 

[Each time you enter a System dungeon it will dynamically change the difficulty based on current equipment and skill levels]

 

With nothing to lose he enters the dungeon through the doorway, teleporting when he touches the door knob.

 

[Welcome to the Ocean Dungeon]

In an underwater cave illuminated by strange corals, he takes an apprehensive breath. Blowing CO2 bubbles out his mouth like a scuba mask he chuckles. He swims to the only exit. Reaching the end of the tunnel he comes to another large cave. Suddenly a fish resembling a salmon darts at his stomach. Startled by the fish he doesn’t try to stop it. Hit in the stomach he bends over. Not wanting to get hit again he prepares for the fish’s attack. 

 

With his arms braced in front of him the fish darts forward. Barely catching the fish he begins panicking, not knowing what to do with the fish. He squeezes the fish as hard as he can. 

 

[Common Ocean Fish killed, 10xp+ 10/100]

[Raw Fish, Fish bait dropped]

[Small knife, Small Health Potion received]

 

Back outside the dungeon Max is lazing on the edge kicking his feet in the water. Sipping on the last of the health potion for his bruised stomach. Going through his inventory he casually tosses the fish bait into the water an arms distance away. The water around the bait begins thrashing and he quickly pulls his legs out of the water. The bait now completely gone, a large dorsal fin can be seen menacingly circling the metal outcropping. Now unable to leave the island he re-enters the dungeon. 

 

Instead of just a single room there are five, each with a single common fish. Every fish drops the same raw fish and fish bait. Easily killing the fish with his new knife, he doesn't get injured before completing the dungeon.

‘I wonder if I can tame the shark…’ He throws out another fish bait. The water eventually calms from the thrashing shark.

With a new goal in mind he begins farming the dungeon. Each run is the same, five rooms and each dungeon completion only gives more fish bait. Also leveling his swimming and water magic with experience.

After several hours, with breaks in between each dungeon run to feed the shark he gets a new notification.

Whitey pokes her head out of the water and barks. “Huh…” Max scratches his own head. 

[Max]:

[Wisdom: 19]

[Charisma : 19]

 

[Swimming (100/100)] [Water Magic (100/100)] [Water Breathing] [Taming (100/100)][Cooking (1/100)]

 

By using the swimming skill and water magic during the dungeon farming he was able to max both skills. Having complete mastery of Water Magic allows him to purify the water of salt and bacteria so he is able to drink it without getting sick. While completing the swimming skill allows him to swim faster than the fish in the dungeon. 

 

As the sun is setting he uses his Cooking skill. He is able to use the abundance of raw fish, turning into Prepared Raw Fish. With a full belly and plenty of left over he feeds some of it to Whitey. When the treat is in the air, Whitey jumps and catches it in her mouth, landing back in the water. Max sees her tail wagging and can’t help but raise an eyebrow in shock. Shaking his head he lays down to sleep.

 

Waking up gasping for air, he sputters water out of his mouth. Whitey quickly dives deep to avoid the glaring and groggy eyes. He feeds Whitey the rest of the fish bait and tries to go back to sleep. After tossing and turning he begrudgingly gets up and approaches the dungeon entrance.

Max appears in the illuminated coral cave but this time he is accompanied by Whitey as well. Reaching the first room he notices the dungeon is different this time. There is a giant fish resembling a tuna the size of Max himself. Immediately Whitey and the fish charge each other. Whitey outsizes the fish by about 50%, the fight is short lasting with Whitey tearing the fish apart.

After dirtying the water with fish innards they move on to the next rooms. Four more rooms of the same fish go by quickly leveling up in the process. When they come to a new enemy. A large octopus is the center of the last room. Whitey charges the octopus and is immediately wrapped up by the legs. With the proper position the octopus easily avoids Whitey’s sharp teeth. The octopus overwhelms her easily, Whitey begins thrashing around the cave wildly.

 

Max races towards the fight with his knife outstretched piercing the octopus in the bulb of its head. Dark purple blood seeps out of the cut before the octopus releases ink and darts to a shadowed corner of the room. Following the trail of ink Max and Whitey are close behind. The octopus now cornered and bleeding is on the defensive. Whitey now more wary of it, keeps her distance and any tentacles that get close she bites. A distracted Max doesn’t see a tentacle as it wraps around his ankle pulling him towards the beak. With a last ditch effort he stabs the fleshy inside of the mouth, killing it.

With raw skin around his ankle from the suckers and rattled brain he checks on Whitey. The same injuries dot around her entire torso, He uses Healing Magic on her and then himself. He receives an appreciative nuzzle as they leave the dungeon.
