We arrived back in the capital the next day, being ushered immediately back to the Queen's throne room to tell her that which needed to be told.
"How did it go, my daughter?"
"Well. Need a clean-up crew to the area. Big dead Demon Beast."
"Did you have trouble killing it?"
Quaza shook her head, "Actually, it was killed before we got there."
"Oh? By whom?"
Quaza explained the woman who was washed up on shore to her mother and about the weapon we found near the beast's corpse. She handed it over to her mother who turned it over in her hands.
"Interesting." She said lightly pulling the trigger. It formed more like a lighter, a flame that was moving like water and emitting a slightly headache inducing stench. She carefully removed the vial and dabbed the smallest drop onto a handkerchief. She then called over a guard and asked them to take it to her best potion scientists to see what it was. That done she turned back to us, "I am worried about this beast killer. I don't believe your side would be dumb enough to attack, but single person terrorist would be an effective thing to do and easy to place the blame on rogue citizens. I think at this time of year, the High Mother should be in Gaola. I would like it if perhaps you would travel to Ferea and perhaps try and find out tell if she's doing anything of the sort. There should be a train going out there, if my memory serves."
"Is that safe, mother? Bianca has seen three of my friends faces. Well, I mean one was as a child and the other wasn't herself but still."
"My daughter, I trust you to not get caught. You are she who will be the next Lord right?"
Quaza nodded, "Y-Yes, mother. I- We shall try our best at the very least."
Honi smiled, "Excellent. Very well. I shall arrange your passage on a train, say tomorrow. I would suggest visiting the Oracle- best to here from one before a journey."
"Yes, mother. Thank you. We shall."
Quaza motioned us out of the room and into the small private library nearby. She told the other three to go and pack up once more while apologizing that we were leaving the capital so soon after re-arriving. She then asked for me to join her in visiting the oracle. I accepted, not really having a choice in the matter at all.
She led me out of the library, out of the castle, across a courtyard and into another part of the castle, down the steps and into a little room where in the center sat a young woman with two scars where her eyes should have been. Quaza kneeled before her, pulling me down to follow suit. We waited for a bit, Quaza's hand over my mouth to stop me from making a noise. Finally, after what felt like an eternity the oracle spoke.
"Greetings, to the 'your highness' of this. And greetings to this Terra as. What brings you here to see me?"
"My mother asked me to see you. We are going to be trying to find information about the high mother soon. Is there anything you see that could help us or is related to us?"
"Of course. Let's see." She placed a finger onto each of her eye scars and pressed until her nails were sinking into them. She then picked up a flask of something yellow and chugged most of it. After a few seconds she twitched rapidly a few times like something gross had touched her and then she pulled back her fingers, two red lines on her scars from which blood tried to drip with little success.
"Well?" I ask before Quaza can shut me up.
"Beware of the church, they control more than you think."
"That's not something that needed an oracle."
"Fine, this Terra. What about this? Soon you will meet two lovers intertwined by fate who can read those runes that hide that which the Humans seek."
Quaza nodded, "That is useful. Where will we meet them?"
"I only know you'll meet them and soon."
"Well, thank you anyways. Any other visions or voices?"
"Yes. This Quaza only, I do think it inappropriate to let this Terra to hear what I am to say to this Quaza."
Quaza motioned for me to leave. I stood up and opened the door. I walked halfway up the stairs before sitting down and waiting for Quaza to be told whatever juicy prophecy that I was inappropriate for. It took longer than I had expected but soon from the bottom of the stairs came a smiling Quaza.
"Good news?" I joked.
She nodded, "Oh, yes. My lovely little Terra, it was news I needed to hear."
"What was it then?"
She snorted, "I am not telling you. There is a reason why she kicked you out."

"Was it about me?"
"It was about me, so in a sense yes- since you are mine, right?"
"In a sense, yes? By the way, why do you get an Oracle that is specific in her visons, and we get fucking awful poetry from ours?"
"Well, it helps that Gakila is younger than most oracles."
"I have no idea how old oracles usually are."
Quaza shrugged, leading me back into the castle proper and into her bedroom where Hayli was sprawled across the bed. I slid next to her, immediately being grabbed by her and held like a giant stuffed animal as she grumbled a greeting.
"I take it you packed for me as well?" Quaza asked.
"Yes, your highness." An annoyed sounding Hayli replied.
"You have my thanks. And scoot over."
Hayli pulled herself closer to the left side of the bed as Quaza sat up next to me. We sat in some silence for a while. I was happy they weren't arguing for a bit. It only served to make our bedding arrangements more awkward when they did so. I even, stupidly, felt safe to close my eyes just before Hayli spoke once more,
"So, does your mother usually send you and your friends off to suicide missions or?"
Quaza scowled, "We are in a time of turmoil, and I am the future Queen and Demon Lord."
"So, she isn't trying to kill Terra?"
"What? No. She wouldn't now that she's an asset to the kingdom."
"What makes you sure of that?"
"Because I know my mother. Besides, there is nothing to worry about. I have been to Ferea and Gaola before, and their lips are looser than a door off its hinges."
"If you say so."
"Now, let me ask you this, what do you think of me?"
"Excuse me?"
"I want to know. How do you feel about me?"
"Am I going to be killed if I answer wrong?"
"Not at all, Lady Hayli. I am only curious. I know how Nox and Caela feel about me, and I know how Terra feels about me, but not you. Not from the mouth like them, or the writing in Terra's case."
Hayli nodded, "Fine. You're a manipulative, controlling bitch who is too full of herself. Your rude in the way all rich people are, and you have no sense of other people's personal space. Unfortunately, you are also smart, pretty and funny when you need to be- but also all of that makes me want to stab you more because it is just more reasons for Terra to like you, and for me to like you. I for some reason enjoy your company, despite the flaws of your existence, and I don't know why."
"Ouch. Well, I'm glad to see we're friends now."
"Not friends."
"Well, I guess Terra is enough for now. I can get you to admit that you're my friend later." She grinned leaning towards me, "By the way Hayli, I think you're cool as well. Then again, I liked Ilyah, so that shouldn't be a surprise. I do think I'll end up liking you much more- since we're the same age."
Hayli sighed, "Thank you, your highness. Is that all?"
"If you are asking if you can rest, yes. I just need to confirm somethings I heard today was all. Now, try and not hog the comforter this time, Terra."
"I make no promises." I replied before rolling face down into the pillow. Hayli doused the lights and soon we were all three asleep.
